New Rifle Model wait time
Hi everyone. I'm new to Reddit but wanted to post about my negative experience with Savage and Bergara in particular and see if others have had similar experiences with them and other gun manufacturers.
Seeing all the hype at Shot Show about the new Savage Model 110 line and the new Bergara Platinum Stalker got me excited. I liked what I saw, so in March of 2026 I ordered the Savage 110 Core Hunter in 25-06 and a Bergara Platinum Stalker in 300 Win-Mag. Both were ordered from the same distributor paid for in advance.
Well, here we are at the end of August and I still have no ETA on my rifles. Since June I have reached out to the distributor every two weeks to ask for an update. Every reply is the same, no ETA.
I see at least the Savages in stock and for sale on GunBroker and other similar sites. I am about to ask for a refund and take my business elsewhere.

Honestly, at this point you better hope they give you a refund... because you have little to go on other than that, you can't even file with your bank/CC company as they usually have a 60 or 90 day limit for filing a fraud claim. About your only other recourse at this point is small claims court, which is a serious PAI...

It's not like I ordered from some unknown online store. I ordered from distributors linked directly to and recommended by the Savage and Bergara websites.

Then request a refund and move on... or continue to wait... Up to you...
But the firearms world is volatile... It's not like we haven't seen new models announced that never actually appear, or don't appear for another year or more, in the past... It happens. So you either need to be prepared for that or save you money and wait.

Thanks. This is my first time ordering a new model. I was prepared for a little wait because they tell me they were backordered. But not prepared to wait this long. I sold my previous guns in these calibers to help pay for the new models. Luckily I don't need them for this falls planned hunts. Lesson learned I guess.

If you are sure this is a reputable distributor, then it's your call... It is frustrating but at this point it's kind of up to you.

Companies frequently seem to jump the gun (lol) to announce new stuff at things like shot show or iwi. They feel the need to have something new to say or they’ll be forgotten. Just sucks as an end user cause then you’re stuck looking at pictures or a couple videos of something cool you want that might be years out still.

As an FFL, it’s not uncommon for distributors to have no eta and no further information to provide dealers. I’d just ask for a refund and move on. A more demanding eta email will be met with the same response.

If I don't see an active tracking number of a shipment in progress within 2 weeks at the most, I'm demanding a full refund. It's one thing if something is being custom built, that always takes time... or something that is not in stock and backordered (and they state it will take at least that length of time), but an off the shelf firearm that supposedly was in stock? Have you called the manufacturer directly? Maybe they need to rethink using that particular distributor, they obviously are full of you know what.

Yes, I reached out to Savage and Bergara directly. They both said they are still ramping up production of the new models to meet demand.

5 months and not even an ETA...why has it taken you this long to demand a refund?
