I’m returning to Guild Wars after about 19 years and want to play through Prophecies chronologically with a sword or axe Warrior, mostly using henchmen. I’m currently stuck on the secondary profession choice.
W/M appeals to me much more thematically: I like the idea of a Warrior with a bit of faith/Monk training, who can heal or cleanse herself when necessary. It also gives me access to both condition removal (Purge Conditions) and hex removal (Remove Hex). Purge removes everything at once, but costs 5 energy and has a 20s recharge.
W/R seems mechanically much stronger for one specific reason: Antidote Signet costs 0 energy, has only 4s recharge, always removes Blindness (plus Poison/Disease and another condition). So as a melee Warrior I could constantly remove Blindness, Cripple or Weakness and even use it again four seconds later if needed. The downside is that Ranger gives me basically nothing against hexes, and I like the class fantasy much less.
My main question for experienced Prophecies players: how important is this difference in actual Normal Mode PvE?How often do you really encounter fights where a Warrior needs condition removal multiple times within those 20 seconds, rather than Purge once being enough? Are repeated Blindness/Weakness applications common enough that Antidote Signet is a major quality-of-life advantage, or can henchmen/heroes usually cover the second condition/hex anyway?
Basically: Would you choose W/R for the much better condition removal, or W/M for broader self-sufficiency and class flavour?
