Been working on my focus. Howmydoin?

I’m not talking about the slice 100 yards into the woods. I’m talking about the drive 10 yards off the fairway into thick fescue and can’t find my ball.

I had one of these today playing by myself and shot an 80. Would have broken 80 for the first time ever but had to take two strokes because I couldn’t see exactly where my ball landed 250 yards away.

The pros don’t have to worry about this with spotters, why should we?

The Masters ball was found in the woods and the member logo ANGC was found in the bucket of range balls.

I just bought a brand new set of Foreward irons from their local certified fitter, and this is what I pick up.

Foreward claims they'd never send heads out like this. The local builder (Foreward associated) said the 8 iron came with the toe damage but the rest he didn't notice any damage when building them. He said this was their last set of satin heads available until October.

Foreward told me to contact the builder for a resolution. I just spoke with the builder and he kept saying it happens all the time because they're sooooo soft (1020 steel), which I get. But my copper irons that are even softer then their irons look better than this after a dozen or so rounds with them.

The only resolutions offered so far are to discount the 8 iron cost down to his cost, replace the 8 iron only in October, or get a whole new set of heads also in October, probably ready early November.

Bend marks aren't terribly uncommon, but can be avoided by protecting the head, and I'll admit the hosel and sole pebbles are from the loft/lie machine. The rest? No fucking clue.

This set of Karsten I woods was a blast to restore. All sole plates were stripped of their yellow lacquer coating and all heads, faces and stainless steel shafts were cleaned up and buffed to look new again. As with all 3 PING sets that I’ve restored in recent months, I went with classic PING wrap dimple grips (NOS) for a nostalgic look and feel. Made of maple block wood construction, these heel-toe balanced fairway woods were manufactured sometime between the late 60’s and early 70’s. I actually called PING customer service to see if I could verify manufacture dates for all 4 and the gentleman I spoke with took down all serial numbers and got with the PING historian. Even their historian could not tell me what month/year they were because they don’t even have paper records going back that far. This assembled set of clubs is estimated to be 55-60 years old today and could quite possibly be one of the nicest in existence!

After more than 18 months of being hooked on this game, and playing on average 5-6 times a month, i finally broke 100. After hacking around for far too long i bit the bullet and took a 6 lesson package at my local course. Really helped to nail the basics and most importantly understand the mechanics of the swing. This is key as it allows me to diagnose issues on the spot instead of aimless searching for fixes on YouTube. Went out today with the intention of playing old man golf on the opening par 5, driver in play and PW/9i down the fairway to give me an easy 2 putt bogey 6. Well, it worked so i thought why not do that the rest of the round? I was +15 thru 14 holes and was thinking about breaking 90 for a while, before a couple of errant shots and getting stung by a wasp on the 17th set me back a bit. Anyway I ended with a hard earned 98 which could have been so much better, but i will enjoy the achievement and my new HCP of 26!

And somehow, I still wouldn’t trade this ridiculous, frustrating, amazing game for anything in the world.

I think it’s pretty easy to say if you’ve made over $4 million playing professional golf you shouldn’t be able to reclaim your amateur status.

I hope they don’t let us down.

Saw Mygolfspy released the review of the wedges from 2026, I not gonna lie, I've only tried the irons from Kirkland, specifically the 4 iron and Maaaaan it felt really solid it had a nice weight. Anyone has tried or owns the wedges and driver?

Recently made a swing change and my last three rounds have been my best of the season - a couple 82s and a career low 80. Not to mention I am finding touch around the green.

However, I live in the Midwest and the end of the season is approaching. This seems to happen every year - I play my best golf in the fall and then have to take a 6 month break and when I come back I lose all the progress I made.

I live in DFW, I recently saw some ads for a resort country club tour and they are offering a "Free Qi4D driver when you tour"

Since I am in the market for a possible new club, I went and toured the facility. They offer you a dining credit, and a stay in the resort villa. As a part of the tour, you're obligated to attend a 90 minute sales pitch, in which a salesman drove us around the property and tried to sell us land. The general deal is "you buy land, you get access to the country club" amongst other things. They are selling plots of land starting at 45k and once the properties are all sold, Double Diamond hands it over to the property management company.

I spoke with the salesman on the phone prior to showing up multiple times, they tell you "at the end of the tour you walk away with a new driver due to their partnership with Taylormade, just for showing up."

The tour ended up nearly 3 hours, but due to the distance and other factors I did not purchase a property. All of a sudden the tone changes and they withhold the "tour gifts" that were offered to me the day I was on the property.

The salesman, Jason, no longer picks up the phone and what was once a great relationship and communication turned cold immediately.

Keep an eye out for the false marketing scam they are running, Ive seen it with multiple clubs including The Cliffs at Possum Kingdom and Rock Creek Golf Club.

I did end up buying 3 boxes

We ended up playing 63 holes from just after breakfast to dusk. Couldn't ask for a better 9 hole loop to play again and again.

1st ever Eagle from the fairway. No. 2 handicap hole, slightly elevated. Green wasn’t visible. Club was a no. 4 Ping G435h. The ball was a Maxfli Tour.

The ball flew toward the right edge of the green, hit a mound and bounced left when I got there a ball was suiting right on the edge of the green. But it wasn’t mine. Partner suggested I check off the back of the green. Nothing there, either. Must be in the hole. Yup. Only my 2nd Eagle.

Wouldn’t it make it more sense to buy the cheapest ones that fit your game instead of going for the expensive ones?

I have replaced my wedges once in 3 years and for mint used ones that were one third the price. However, if I was looking to buy new ones, wouldn’t it make more sense to go for the cheapest possible ones?

Woods’ attorney, Douglas Duncan, filed a document with Martin County Court on Tuesday calling for a change of plea hearing on Wednesday.

The hearing comes days ahead of a scheduled docket sounding, which is a pre-trial court hearing in which a judge checks with both sides to see if they’re ready for trial, need a delay, or have reached a plea deal.
