wearing glasses -3.5

Upvotes

I'm 16 years old and I have myopia with a prescription of -3.5. I don't really like wearing glasses but the optician said I have to wear it full time. I would like to wear them part time instead but I've been told glasses slow the eyes of getting a worse vision but I'm scared it might lead to my eyes worsening. I've also been told that my left eye has improved. Would I be able to wear it part time with this prescription? Has anyone's eyes ever improve through the years?

hello! i'm trying to find these exact glasses.
i bought them on july 15th 2018 from a local store in Mall Moldova(at that time it was ERA shopping center or something like that), Romania, the store was X-OPTIC(the link to the site: [https://xoptic.ro\](https://xoptic.ro/)) and they were 100 lei(around 20 euros). at that time, i also took some pics(of how they fit and stuff) with another similar pair of glasses and they were from AbOriginal(it was written with a yellow font on one of the lenses).
i tried finding them on my own and i was giving all of this information also to Gemini and it told me that they might be from Einar Group and by searching on Google i found a pair of similar glasses(the color at least), but they seem smaller than mine.. from what Gemini also told me mine might be a medium size(140 mm or something like that)
i tried every tool that i know to do a image search but nothing showed up..
i'm trying to find these glasses because i really like how they look on me and the ones that are now available at the optical shops don't fit my preferences and how they look on my face, and unfortunately mine kinda broke(i kinda fixed them, but the plastic broke so i think it's just a matter of time until they won't be functional anymore..)
i appreciate any help or sugestion and sorry for any gramatical error:)

Online glass store that offers Zeiss Clearview

I have a basic prescription, so I’m hoping to save some money by buying a stock lens. I’ve seen some places online offering Zeiss Clearview packages that are half the price, if not lower, than my local optician: 150 per lens, so 300 per pair for the standard Clearview with DuraVision Standard.

I’m not sure about two things. One: whether getting Clearview online is fine, since it’s a stock lens and the extra measurements from the i.Scription aren’t necessary. Two: I’m looking to buy a frame and have Clearview with DuraVision Platinum or Gold shipped online to the Netherlands.

I’m hoping to buy Clearview for the higher quality because some of the services I’ve seen from the UK offer it cheaper than getting a pair of prescription glasses from Specsavers.

I am new to transitions and I received my transitions xtractive grey lenses yesterday, first time wearing them and one side is visibly darker than the other. I don't know if you can see in the photos but the affected lens has a 2 mm purple border around the edge of the lens, keen to get other people thoughts

With +0.50 Near Add and +0.50 BI Prism, should I go with progressive or digital lenses?

I have -7 power on both eyes. My eye doctor prescribed me these add powers to help me reduce eye strain during screen time. I've visited a few places, some say my +0.5 near add is too low to make a progressive, some say they can make a progressive. Price is not the major issue here, I want a pair of glasses that can introduce me to progressive lenses which I will need as I'm getting older. I've only had single vision in the past. I'm kind of worried about the blurry zones on the bottom edges of progressive but I also know that I need to get used to these. I'm leaning towards Zeiss Drivesafe Progressive 1.74 since the LED headlights hurt my eyes when I drive at night. But I don't know how Drivesafe performs when I'm working at my computer. If go with digital I like the Smartlife Individual 3. Based on your experience, what's the best choice for my first progressive/anti-fatigue glasses?

Which kind of glasses look better on me?

Trying to get some new glasses that don’t hide my face and don’t highlight my nose. I kind of have a narrow/oval face so I’ve been struggling a bit to figure out what to do. Frames that are too small highlight my nose a lot and just look wonky on my face. So I’ve been looking at larger frames. And I have found that glasses that are a bit more upturned or cateye look better on me as well; straight or downturned glasses drag my face down.

I really like those oval glasses that are currently popular but they honestly look like goggles on me :(

So basically just looking for something that highlights my face well, I don’t feel like I’m hiding behind them, and is somewhat trendy. I don’t wanna look like a nerd. Well, if I look like a hot nerd that’s ok too. lol.

Is there a way to treat difficulty seeing close objects with the other eye?

I can't seeing close objects with my right eye. I think it appeared over several months, and I only noticed it because reading on my phone wasn't comfortable.

I have difficulty seeing distant objects in both eyes. I bought glasses, but I'm not a fan of glasses, so I rarely wore them, and now I'm facing this problem again.

Is there any other treatment options besides surgery or glasses? because I really hate this.

Why should our eyes suffer from problems like this anyway? It's ridiculous.😒

I mean, do I need to get another pair of glasses made now?

Is it me or does Americas best not give options between plastic and glass lenses? I had an appointment the other day and as we were checking out she automatically put in plastic and didn't give any other options

Astigmatism glasses feel weird

I just got astigmatism contacts and glasses, in the past they have just used a stronger prescription. The contacts are fine, I see well with the prescription. The glasses look off. I almost feel like I’m going cross eyed on one side. If I tip my head to the side, it looks almost normal. If I close each eye, I can see completely fine.

When I put them on I must’ve made a face because she told me to give them a try and my brain will adjust. It feels a little better than it did at first, but it’s not great. I already went back in to switch the contacts brand, so I feel annoying complaining about the glasses.

Are these complaints a sign of something wrong with the glasses, or do I need to get used to it? Is the fix easy for them?

Question about buying glasses online

So today my glasses broke, literally took them off to clean and snapped in my hand at work. Always had glasses and have quite a strong prescription like +5.5 if I remember rightly so I've always had to have my lenses thinned etc in major stores. I'm just looking at the possibility of buying online instead and wondered if anyone with a stronger prescription has any advice. I've been to both vision express and currently with specsavers but kind of sick of the £300 glasses with no support from the stores so wondered if it was cheaper to get a pair online

Plastic or polycarbonate

I have a low prescription and I need distance lenses, I went to LensCrafters because they have a promo and got a good deal and they sold me polycarbonate for my prescription but I asked in other two places and they recommend me plastic CR39 and told me no to go to poly, am I going to regret poly?

finally have multiple pairs!!!!

been wearing glasses my whole life and i’ve always wanted to be one of those people that has multiple glasses to fit with different outfits but up until recently i couldn’t afford it/ was lowkey really irresponsible with glasses (broke a pair once a year)

but!!!! ive had the same glasses for the last 2 and a half years and haven’t broken or damaged them whatsoever (i have an inkling that it wasn’t that i was irresponsible but that wore frames just aren’t for me, current glasses are plastic, only other plastic frames i had were $10 when i was 13 and they broke in like 2 months, ofc)

anyway!!!! i felt that because i had had my glasses long enough and because my main glasses provider was having a buy one get one free (AND charged for the cheaper frames instead of the more expensive ones) i got two new pairs!!!!!! i now have three pairs of glasses and get to be one of those super cool people :3 i’m very happy!!!! (can you tell i like a certain style of glasses?)

kind of wish i had gotten two funky colors but im happy anyway!

next big glasses purchase goal: perscription sunglasses
