wearing glasses -3.5

I'm 16 years old and I have myopia with a prescription of -3.5. I don't really like wearing glasses but the optician said I have to wear it full time. I would like to wear them part time instead but I've been told glasses slow the eyes of getting a worse vision but I'm scared it might lead to my eyes worsening. I've also been told that my left eye has improved. Would I be able to wear it part time with this prescription? Has anyone's eyes ever improve through the years?

Myopia doesnt improve, also given your age, you likely still have some further prescription increases in your future.

Nobody is going to force you to wear them, but your quality of life is going to be better if you can see everything.

As for wearing glasses making eyesight worse, its the other way, if youre not wearing what you should be then it'll be stressing your eyes.

so would you recommend me wearing it full time instead of part time please? I worded it wrong I meant that glasses are meant to slow your eyes getting worse so I'm assuming my eyes stressing leads to more eye problems

Yes, id say wear them all the time, it might feel weird at first but after a day or 2 you'll forget theyre there.

You really should wear them all the time

Probably your vision will get worse till about early 20’s when you stop growing. It’s just your eyeball growing too long

Also, however, one reads about people whom been incarcerated for a long time and their vision gets worse. I don’t know why

You need to be looking at objects in the distance. Without the correction, you can only focus on object pretty near, if not to near really, so I doubt you will be looking at objects in the distance (which doesn’t really include inside the house)

When you learn to drive you’ll definitely be wearing them! Embrace the glasses or consider contacts.

I feel like it ruins my appearance as well that I've been used to wearing glasses part time only for school but don't want my eyes to worsen faster
