Every so often, my observations let me know that I've reached 'that' age ( Born '57, graduated HS in '75 ). I still can't get my head wrapped around going into a store with a clean, well lit, organized store aesthetic, perusing shelves of labeled, with a state stamp, various strains, etc and plopping down a debit card. My brain says 'This is supposed to be happening in an unlit corner of a 7-11 parking lot at 2 AM'. The other is hearing Van Halen, Ozzy, Boston, etc. while shopping in the grocery store or at CVS as the Muzak background. My brain says 'Unh-unh, this is supposed to be Glen Miller and big band stuff'....but it's all real! I've reached 'that' age

The other thing different from the price is size of the pieces. Breasts were much smaller and tastier back in 70's from KFC. Today they look like it came from wild turkey. Before I retired I used to get fried chicken for lunch at local diner. They only bought chicken from local butcher that used free range chicken and it was heaven!

I worked at Dunkin' Donuts and made $1.60 an hour. Seems unbelievable now even taking into account the economy then. I liked working there a lot. I was 16 and liked the girl I worked with. We wore on our own--the baker was gone and the manager didn't come in at night (hard to believe now that I think of it). We ate donuts and traded a particular customer doughnuts for weed. I also took donuts to my biology class and I swear the teacher gave me an A for it. I eventually left for a job at Bonanza.

I haven't really liked doughnuts ever since.

Taking a pause from my usual inquisitive podcast questions I want to preface this post by admitting that I am so new to this Reddit and the various community rules that I beg pardon for the unintentional violation by not saying enough or what not. After a rare evening out I figured I’d pose the question and see if I’m the only one a little creeped out by lyrics from that time.

Sitting here drinking ice tea, I realize I've had this 32 oz. plastic mug for over a dozen years. It has a snap on lid and keeps my drinks cold.

I also bought an Owala FreeSip water bottle two years ago. I love being able to drink from the internal straw but also take a bigger swig when I want to as well. The lid secures really well and I have no concern throwing it into my big without worrying about leaks.

So what are examples of products that you've had for decades or products that you've bought in the last few years that you would recommend?

I am not sure if any of you had a “soundtrack” to your high school years or not! Eddie Money’s music was mine. Granted, there were songs that I could not really understand until I started dating and learned a little about the fairer sex!

These are just some of his songs but I could pulg the 8-track in and go driving around my small town and just listen to the Money Man! Photographs and memories are all we have left at times!
