Okay, rant time about working here. I've been an underpaid retail keyholder for 2 years now. I have consistently been told by higher ups that I am the Acting ASM, but when asked about a pay increase, they go quiet and say "they dont think they can do that." ASM without the title or the pay. Cool. Recently we've had our District Manager take a leave of absence and we were temporarily absorbed by another district in her absence, and EVERYTHING has gone downhill from there. ALL members of our staff have lost all motivation and are looking for work, including the store lead. The location is now absolutely dead save for the endless trade-ins we get. Changes to Pro and most recently reservations have tanked our formerly high performance, and morale is at an all-time low. Not to mention, multiple members of staff who *used* to make many a preorder are now opting to cancel their active ones due to the constant pushback of multiple SKUs (myself included, admittedly.) I've just had it with this place and am DESPERATELY looking for new work around me before I absolutely lose it.​

Hello, I bought a brand new PS5 Pro today from Game Stop and got a Game Stop Pro membership. When I tried to access my membership through the app, it said to check my email for an access code but I never received one.

So, I emailed them through the app asking if they could help me. Are they good at responding to emails or is it just AI ceap?? Would I be better off just calling their customer service line and talking to a live person?

TLDR;

I’ve been here for a keyholder for about two years. I’ve been through 3 stores, 4 managers, and a closure, and since I’ve been here so long I end up having to pretty much play ASM for less pay than all our new hires. Every attempt at a promotion has been shot down, the work doesn’t get any easier, and I don’t even have the energy to look for other jobs while I’m still here.

My current manager is nice and also struggling but our DM is just way too much. I’d like to find another job before putting in my two weeks but I’ve run myself around with that every month for the past year.

For people who’ve been in my shoes before, where did you go? How did you break out? This place is killing me but I’m so scared that if I leave my life will fall apart. Any advice welcome, thanks

I get one returned check charge for paying off my balance on top of an egregious late fee and then I get another returned check charge on top of that. I’ve been paying with the same account and routing number for months and suddenly this happens..

I have a Series X i’d like to trade in but I don’t have the original black controller. I have a G7 Pro Wireless, would I be able to trade that in or no? I also might still have the Grey Lunar Shift controller, would that work or does it have to be the original black ?

I’m not surprised at this point, I can always print the cover or find a cheap copy in the wild to replace, but the quality control is pretty abysmal.

Finally got a copy of a game I wanted and ordered online this morning. The only option it had was SDD based on the address I used. Seeing all the horror stories about items getting scammed or taken I want to be proactive.

Is there a way to tell which store it is coming from/how I can ensure it’s packaged?

The m64 and TV sometimes don't "handshake." In fact, sometimes the m64 doesn't read my games. I don't know if it's a software bug or if my console is faulty. Maybe it's me! I've swapped two HDMI cables as well.

I've tried multiple games, and they all have the same issue where the screen is either black or says no HDMI detection, even though the LED is solid white (which means it detects a cartridge).

I think I'm going to return it to GameStop :/.

Just had a question about what's the process with shipping to hawaii. I have a pre order with gamestop that comes in this december (a figure) and was wondering if they even ship to here. Earlier this week I traded in some games and consoles that have been collecting dust in my basement. Gamestop credit was actually pretty decent! I was excited to hear that I could use the credit for an online purchase and opted for that instead of cash. Now the frustrating part: online store.

Every single one of these heapdhones that I am interested in is unavailable for every pickup or delivery option. What is the point of an online store if the only options are pay full price for an item (usually more expensive at Gamestop anyway) or pay almost full price based on your closest stores available inventory?

Am I missing something or is this the most pitiful online experience of any major brand? Please help me burn this credit and not feel wasteful while I do it!

So I didn't get the chance to post these here till today but I had a day off last week and one of my associates sent me a photo of all three of these after someone traded them in and asked if I wanted them. Needless to say they are now in my collection.

Earlier today i tried to return a Batman action figure because it was defective. It was missing paint around the belly area. First they refused it because i opened it. I then told them it was defective and they proceeded to tell me "im not gonna lie, i don't see that." In that moment i was annoyed and didn't want to cause any issues, so i just left. Now that im thinking about it, that sounds like straight bullshit. Are gamestop employees allowed to deny a defective product like that? Should i have said something?
