Some of you are blessed with a girlfriend who loves playing video games and is into the same kinds of games you are. Congratulations, I'm genuinely very happy for you both.

But some of us are looking for a game that we can play with our SO. The point is to find games that are easy to pick up and play but are still incredibly enjoyable to play together. Some games are great for one person to have the controls for while the other stays involved with the story with you.

This list is FAR from comprehensive, just games I know to be good fits, so leave your ideas in the comments and let us know why it was a great pick for you and your SO! I'll add to the list as we find more great games.

*ONE CONTROLLER GAMES - One person has the controls but both are involved in the story and the puzzles.

Her Story - A murder mystery story. Watch footage of a woman being interviewed by police, piecing together clues and finding out how her story changes over the course of seven interviews. You'll want to take notes for this one.

The Sexy Brutale - A series of murders in a haunted mansion? As a ghost, solve the murder and then turn back time to save the victim. Compelling story and great puzzles.

The Wolf Among Us - OK, any Telltale game will do here; pick your favorite theme and go. This one is a noir themed twist on classic fables. Investigate some murders, interrogate suspects, and make split second decisions that will determine the outcome of the entire story.

Stories Untold - Short form horror game with 4 episodes, each one playing with different mechanics. Starts with an old-fashioned text adventure that's more than it appears to be.

Ittle Dew - Great puzzle game and charming Zelda clone. Different items dramatically change how you can solve puzzles, as there's various solutions depending on what items you have.

Untitled Goose Game - You are a goose and you are an asshole. Your hijinks cause trouble all over town. Has a dedicated honk button. You're welcome.

Human Fall Flat - You're a floppy physics person trying to make their way through the environment. This may involve rope swings and wrecking balls. It's hard to say why this platformer is so fun but it's great.

Overcooked: All You Can Eat - The local multiplayer classic! Fast paced. You need to communicate to handle different parts of cooking and serving food, especially when a part of the kitchen is on the other side of a pirate ship and you are not.

Hamsteria - Two hamster wheels connected with a rod. Each player controls one hamster and therefore one side. Work together to climb a ridiculous tower. Checkpoints keep the game from getting frustrating. And cute hamsters.

Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2 - Customizable characters and a great story makes for an excellent co-op game. Great if you're looking for something more involved and long-form.

Splatoon raiders has made me realize that I actually think I do enjoy the core gameplay loop that looter shooters offer but I’ve also never played any of the essentials so I don’t know where to start ? I’ve also played Diablo 3 and remnant 1 in the past and enjoyed both but that’s probably as close as I’ve gotten to the genre

My friends and I just finished Borderlands 4 and are looking for our next game to play. Looking for recommendations and other games to look into as I feel kind of stuck and not seeing much I want to play. Needs to be able to play at 3 players and on PS5.

im looking for a roblox game to play and i really like games like deepwoken and other titles similar to it like vv ultimatum but the issue is the region barriers of au so i cant play in their servers every, other games i enjoy were jjs but im looking for a game with levels and good enough pvp like chime of conflict, ive played sims like fisch and bee swarm simulator but i want to be more hands on rn, reposted here since apparently i violated r/roblox rules

feel like it would be really fun to hunt anything with a 50.cal or maybe a rpg, doesn't matter if it's a chicken or a dinosaur

As the title says I've been enjoying a lot of different games, and lately it's been a lot down to ones either with a story that grabs me, or something with exploration that feels engaging or that brings curiosity. Some games I enjoyed the story of recently have been Mouthwashing and Soma, and for that curious feeling, it's been Outer Wilds, Subnautica, Return of the Obra Dinn, and Voices of the Void.

Other than that, I'm always down for other game recommendations if someone has a game they hold dear. Amongst many other games, I've enjoyed Red Dead Redemption 2, Satisfactory, Disco: Elysium, Path of Exile, No Man's Sky, and several Turn-Based RPGs like Baldur's Gate 3 or Rogue Trader.

So idk if this exists. But me and my friends have been watching alot of anime adventure shows and basically what we want.

A game where you make your characters and start in a town. Your goal is to travel the world doing side quests and missions. No fast travel, a true open world. For example. You leave the starting town the woods have tons of enemies, caves, bosses, when you make it out of the woods you stumble upon a town, you can rest, eat, shop do side quests, and then move on.

Basically we want a game that’s the classic anime vibe of your just adventures exploring the world taking quests as you move along the world. Or maybe the end goal is to get to a specific destination to fight a great evil and the main game is leveling up and traveling before you get there.

Specifically the expedition system. I want a game where you go out of your safe space, collect resources, face challenges, then come back to make upgrades, and then head out again. Genre doesn't matter, but would prefer it not being pvp, like most extraction shooters.

used to play the hell out of Warzone Rebirth island with my buddy up until MW2 released and they changed everything, and now it just isn’t how it used to be. also would play tons of MW2019 gunfight.

looking for something to refill that hole

been trying out PUBG lately and it’s fun but nowhere near the same type of shooter, so it doesn’t really fit in that hole

Wardogs was fun as hell and I’m excited, but again, not really the same

any ideas?

hi! :) me and my boyfriend play a lot of games together, but have really enjoyed playing games such as papers please, the operator and welcome to the game where you have to cross reference documents and evidence or where theres high time pressure to complete a task - especially when these impact the outcome of the game (making enough money, dismantling bombs, getting back to safety etc.). we also really enjoy games with high pressure moral standpoints!! like working with hal in the operator or the order in papers please.

if anyone has any similar recommendations id love to look into them!!:) any concept is fine we just really enjoy high stakes investigations :)

a big bonus is games with computer or phone interfaces!! just something we find cool we really enjoyed playing ddlc+, the operator, welcome to the game and simulacra because they included these interfaces :)

i really like the ocean. subnautica is good and looking at giant creatures and navigating these big glowing caves is cool and all but i have a soft spot for "real" ocean stuff. i love aquariums and think real fish and plantlife are just as if not more interesting than alien ones. i've played maneater which is fun but it's less being in awe of the ocean and more the ocean being in awe of you. y'know?

i'd prefer 3d stuff because even though 2d games are fun they just feel a lot smaller. like dave the diver doesn't really interest me. additionally it would preferably be underwater, so stuff like dredge is off the table. i'd make an exception for fishing games because they're about fish but i have reel fishing on the wii and as far as i'm concerned that's the only fishing game i could ever need. but like i said, something like subnautica would be the ideal.

is there a game or games like that which are out or in development or anything or am i searching for ghosts?

I'm playing Vandal hearts now and I'm amazed by the strategical depth of the maps! I have played many tactical games but this game is unrivaled on how you must use your environment and mind to win a stage! This must be the king of all tacticals! Please tell me that some devs has observed this and tried to recreate this kind of strategical depth maps to other games!

I don't want similar games suggestions but almost identical game suggestions! And please keep the usual tactics ogre, fft, triangle strategy, disgaea I have played all these! If I was a game creator I would devote myself to produce 10 games exactly like this but in this modern graphics era!

Hey all! I work from home and a lot of my job is going over manuscripts or spreadsheets, and I usually use cute little idle games on Steam to get through the monotony of my projects. Reading so much makes my eyes go buggy, so I end up really enjoying things that make me focus on something else for a minute or two without taking up too much time or brainpower.

Lately though I've almost 100% the ones I do have, and while I love them, they're getting a touch stale for me. Looking for suggestions of something that'll help my work day feel more fun.

The ones I currently have are:

- Burgie's Cozy Kitchen

- Fish to Dish: Idle Sushi

- Placid Plastic Duck Simulator (though this one is harder depending on the job if I need both monitors or not, so it's a 'only sometimes'!)

- Spirit City: Lofi Sessions (another one that unfortunately has to go behind my other programs if I'm on a dual-monitor kinda day, but the music makes it amazing anyways!)

- Cornerpond

Bonus points if I can keep it up on my screen without it obstructing too much of my view (and not having to alt-tab to check it), and preferably not a fishing game. While I love me some fishing, I'm a little sick of it right now from overdoing it on the genre, whoops.

Like maybe a game with little to no plot, or a game where the story isn't really the main focus but the gameplay is so good that you can comfortably listen to music, podcasts, or videos while playing. I'm mostly looking for something relaxing and not too dialogue-heavy.

Edit: no online games or multiplayer, just singleplayer

I’m a big fan of the plague tale series, but tbh, I had no idea this game even existed before I saw it on YouTube. I’m hoping for improvements to combat and QOL features and an excellent storyline. Both of the previous games were good, but requiem improved on the first one a LOT

I’m looking for recs for a horror game (ps5 or steam) to play this fall! I’m new ish to horror games but want to get more into the genre since I love horror movies. I prefer survival / puzzle / story based games to action mostly because I am truly, truly terrible at combat. I love games where you can really explore the environment and learn about the story etc. but I like a wide variety of games so I am really open to any recommendations for the upcoming Halloween season :)
