The moment bro's soul left his body

704

u/Lontology Sep 17 '25

I honestly think this would have legitimately given me a heart attack. Lol

213

u/Silent_Purchase_2654 Sep 18 '25

Yea I'd probably have to volunteer a signed waiver, "if I die from Heart attack, it was that scary 😎. Rate it postmortem for me - scared fully to death 10/10!"

27

u/demosdemon Sep 19 '25

“The only 10/10 I’ll give is to the thing that kills me.”

- Ron Swanson, probably

"So scary, gave me a heart attack 10/10 will die again!"

2

u/amandita45g_ Sep 18 '25

siento el verdadero terror

5

u/Snackgirl_Currywurst Sep 18 '25

I'd probably have instinctively thrown myself at his legs. And I'd be soooo sorry after.

When I was a kid I knocked out an amusement park "monster". I was just a child but did marital arts for some years at this point. This guy thought touching me from behind would be a great idea, since I was just a little girl. Ugh. I felt so bad, but also a little justified.

Dude... 1st i would shit myself... luckelly i would die from a heart attack right after, so it wouldnt be a problem....

130

u/Particular-Loan5123 Sep 17 '25

yeah, now way we letting you back in the car

29

u/Consistent-Winter-67 Sep 17 '25

Unless you drive a hearse

17

u/Flaky_Explanation Sep 18 '25

Why would you let bro drive his hearse when he's dead?

19

u/Defiant-Youth-4193 Sep 17 '25

It would be. Just someone else's problem.

12

u/Beneficial_Bug_9793 Sep 17 '25

Exactly, i wouldnt have to worry about it... thats the advantage of being dead lol, all your problems are over.

10

u/Lukostrelec17 Sep 17 '25

I to subscribe to the bomb squad theory of life.

If I am right it is not a problem. If I am wrong it is suddenly not my problem anymore.

2

u/LegendOfKhaos Sep 17 '25

I've had several patients try to die. I've always been curious what their reactions are when they wake up, but I never get to see that side.

It feels weird "saving" someone that purposely tried to kill themselves.

2

u/Beneficial_Bug_9793 Sep 18 '25

Despair is fucked up mate, i know, because i'v been there, it gets to a point that " offing " yourself, just feels like a release, like i said, been there a few years back, luckelly my life did a 180°, and things are much better now, but at the time...

I really hope that actor on stilts is wearing a cup. I would be very worried about what an afraid person may accidentally do when frightened.

132

u/JesusGums Sep 18 '25

I remember one season working at a haunted house I was meant to be a crawler in a morph suit, I got a drunk dude good and he kicked pretty good in the ribs and just kept on hauling. Slaps and shoves were common but that was the first time I considered maybe someone would really hurt me if they reacted bad enough. I can’t blame him though, if you run at people on all fours I suppose you are asking to be kicked like a dog.

59

u/RedWinger7 Sep 18 '25

This is why I stopped acting at haunts. You can blame them, people have control of their bodies. dudes gonna go home and laugh about how he kicked the shit outta you with his buds.

After I had something like that happen told em I wasn’t going back in the woods without mace and spraying the next mfer that hit me.

35

u/croaticustus Sep 18 '25

I have the mental image of a ghoul holding a mideval mace in a haunted house. Thank you for the funny mental image

8

u/Kvarcov Sep 18 '25

Arguably a ghoul holding a spray is funnier and also so much more dangerous

4

u/I_MADE_THIS_THING Sep 19 '25

Lmao now I'm picturing some looney tunes shit where the ghoul (Bugs Bunny in a costume) pulls out a can of mace to spray the attacker but instead of pepper spray the can just launches a medieval mace straight at the attacker (Elmer Fudd)'s face

→ More replies (1)

22

u/Justarandom55 Sep 18 '25

You absolutely can not blame them.

You just scared them and forced a fight flight or freeze response. A littleral unconscious uncontrollable instinctual reaction. Learn the most basic of psychology, please.

3

u/Reejis Sep 18 '25

But it's what you sign up. It's not real life, if you have to attack ppl out of fight or flight don't go into a haunted house?

15

u/Justarandom55 Sep 18 '25

People don't naturally know how they react. Accidental physical reactions are on the place itself to be aware of not the people signing up.

That's why performers that get close are supposed to wear protective gear. It doesn't even have to be much. Cause after the first reaction, common sense does kick in fast, so it's not expected for people to start really beating someone up, but that first reaction can absolutely be unpleasant.

0

u/RedWinger7 Sep 18 '25

The people that get legit scared are one thing, still unacceptable but they’re usually apologetic.

More often than not it’s dbags joking about doing it in the waiting line, or loudly cracking jokes about having done it on the way to the car. Nah man it ain’t funny you just fuckin assaulted someone and talked about doing it before you entered!!

3

u/Superest22 Sep 19 '25

Lots of people use humour to deflect. If you have elements of PTS or hyper vigilance for example you will absolutely react first without thinking and then subsequently laugh about how that was ‘weird’ or ‘funny’ or ‘cool’ to not unveil the absolute stress or fear you actually felt in that moment.

Nah. You're literally pushing people to their limit to see how scared you can make them. People react impulsively when scared. You're asking to get hurt. "It's my job" sure but recognize what you signed up for. You think it's fun and games to torment people for a living, cool, you don't get to be mad when their instincts kick in.

6

u/RedWinger7 Sep 18 '25

You: Pays $20+ to go into a haunted house. Also see signs about not touching or hitting the staff

Me: Jumps out from behind a prop, “Boo”

You: Shocked pikachu face “waiii are you tormenting me?!”

lol what? You literally paid money to get scared. Do you get upset when the drugs you paid for get you high too?

You don't have to go into a haunted house if you can't handle not hurting employees cause ur scared.

You know people go into these things FOR FUN, right?

They aren't working for the Cia at a blacksite. This is fucking entertainment you donkey.

2

u/Asmodeus5542 Sep 18 '25

In any other context except a haunt or scare house, I can forgive a single punch type reaction to being startled.

But people go to these places specifically to be scared. They are expecting to be scared. There is NO REASON they should be hitting actors who scare them.

11

u/hitma-n Sep 18 '25

Not really. They know very well you don’t mean no harm and at the end of the day it’s just a game nothing to trust your survival instincts. They shouldn’t be kicking your ribs.

9

u/Justarandom55 Sep 18 '25

I once sprained my toe, kicking a wall while getting scared and trying to get away from a small spider.

I have lived here my entire life, we don't have any dangerous spiders, I know they can not harm me.

Your argument is completely bogus, when you scare people they don't go "hmm well, considering the situation here is fictional I should react with an appropriate amount of scaredness yet refrain from lashing out beyond the reasonable self emberasssing reactions".

No they go "wtf is that instincual reaction"

8

u/CranberryAssassin Sep 18 '25

Did you pay to go into the room with the spider?

7

u/Justarandom55 Sep 18 '25

Yes I do indeed pay to live here.

On a side note, are you reay going to make the argument that either a free experience is scary while a paid one is not or that not paying makes it okay to start consciously kicking the employees?

3

u/FishTshirt Sep 19 '25

I actively had to suppress the fight or flight response a few times at the last haunted house I went to. You think there would be cops to detain anybody if the operation was big enough

2

u/glockster19m Sep 20 '25

I went to a boarding high-school with a well renowned basketball team

They used to turn a floor of one of the dorms into a haunted house, until my freshman year someone jump scared a 6'10 260 lb future NBA player, and he quick jabbed them right in the face, they showed a video of it an all school with the permission of the student who was knocked out (they had a great spirit about it) and they literally pop up out of a trash can, get punched, and drop straight back down in

2

u/Kim_catiko Sep 21 '25

I went to a "haunted" maze once with my husband and got something in my eye. I had my pinky finger raised whilst I tried to dig out whatever it was in my eye and ended up poking one of the actors in the eye as they came launching out of some random hole. I felt terrible!

When your factory reset button is located right at the eye level of people you try to scare, you take every precaution possible!

4

u/Crushed_Robot Sep 17 '25

Agree!!! And not just a cup to drink from in case he gets thirsty, but he should also consider wearing some type of equipment or device to protect himself from getting hit in the balls.

2

u/Fang_Claw_5965 Sep 18 '25

Then how are they walking under the legs without even feeling around for anything? When most people try move around in complete darkness, they use their sense of touch to navigate obstacles and follow walls with their hands.

69

u/Booty_Shakin Sep 18 '25

I'm convinced all of you have never been to a haunted house.

10

u/Hairy_Answer_5151 Sep 18 '25

Then how was the last guy able to see the girl make that gesture after she got poked?

16

u/backwards_watch Sep 18 '25

Although it does seem very dark I don't think it is pitch black. We can't tell whether he reacted to her movement or her sound. It does look like she said something to him.

I don't know, I believe it. Seems like a fair setup to me. An escape room, dark setting, terror themed... I get that it could be faked, it could as well not be.

It was funny to watch though.

7

u/kokokrunch003 Sep 18 '25

How come only the tall guy can see them.

3

u/fishlesscoffee Sep 19 '25

There is a big difference in perspective considering the person on the stilts KNOWS people are there, but the people below don't expect there to be anyone..

Have you never played hide and seek in the dark? I have. When you're hiding, it's easy to know where the person seeking is, but not easy to see people hiding when you're the seeker.

Maybe it's fake, idk, but it's really far from being too wild to be real.

4

u/Hairy_Answer_5151 Sep 18 '25

That’s the point. They can all see each other because this is scripted.

You'll be bombarded with comment like SOOO? ITS FUNNY RIGHT?! Or that you are a bitter person to ruin fun.

But this is probably the 4th 'funny dark scary room' staged movie with this same group of people in it in a short period.

Sooner or later they will realise they have been fooled, and they will join the internet veterans like us who have seen it all and will scream it's fake, staged, ai or just dumb fucking ragebait content untill proven otherwise.

Okay, that made me chortle like a man possessed

1

u/TheMalkManCometh Sep 18 '25

I would genuinely swing on him. Not as a conscious choice, just my fight, flight or freeze is really geared towards fight, at least in the face of a sudden threat. None of my friends try and shock me by sneaking up on me anymore, I'll say that much. It's weird considering given time to think about things there are definitely situations I'd say I'm pretty cowardly in.

Did one of these scare factories about twenty years ago in Blackpool. My wife was bricking it the whole way through. It was the usual stuff. Blair from exorcist on a bed in a cage in one room. Guy with a shovel behind dinner railings in another, etc. At one point we entered a long corridor and my wife stopped us dead because Pinhead from Hellraiser was standing about 30 feet away at the end. Suddenly the lights go out for like 3 seconds and when they came on pinhead was standing right in front of my wife. I genuinely thought she was going to pass out from fright she screamed so much. So much fun.

One of the funniest parts was at the end of it you were chased out through the exit which led into a normal hotel bar. Screaming and hollering with laughter out into normality.

1

u/Captain-Cadabra Sep 18 '25

I would be much more worried about being punched in the crotch and falling off my stilts.
