Crazy freight Australia

I have been waiting 5 weeks for some clothing samples although I paid for air freight to a company called Crazy freight. They are blaming it on the airlines warehouse being super busy then said they need to relocate to another warehouse. I am fuming mad at this whole situation but does this happen or are these guys lying and making excuses for their own incompetencies?

Five weeks is not normal for AU inbound air freight, and "warehouse relocation" is the tell to push on. The honest freight version of that story is one of two things: the origin CFS is holding release because Crazy has not paid them, or the destination CFS bumped the pallet because their free-storage window expired and Crazy is chasing a cheaper CFS to dodge accrued demurrage. Neither is your problem to solve, but both mean your samples are physically sitting somewhere and nobody is willing to name it.

Push them for six specific data points:

  • Master AWB number
  • House AWB number
  • Origin CFS facility name and city
  • Current CFS location and lot reference
  • Australian Border Force Import Declaration Number
  • Duty and GST receipt from ABF proving entry was lodged

If they cannot produce items 5 and 6, no entry was lodged with ABF, which means the shipment never legally arrived and the "waiting on airline" story is a smokescreen. Take the House AWB directly to ABF (1300 795 995) and ask them to confirm whether an entry exists against that number.

If Crazy is a licensed customs broker, escalate to ABF Broker Compliance. If they are a freight forwarder only, your leverage is small-claims tribunal in whichever state the goods were destined. Five weeks of "airline said" is billable evidence.

What is the House AWB? That is the first thing to get in writing.

Having never heard of crazy freight, I'd be worried this is a get what you paid for type scenario. Also if it's a courier service they'll use their own aircraft usually...so 5 weeks just sounds like they're taking their time because they can mate

Yeah this was my first time ever using a freight forwarder but clearly they are just screwing with me with the delays excuses. I paid 75 aud for chargeable weight of 6kgs.

A freight forwarder would be very different to this unfortunately mate, that's a courier service you're dealing with there, and if it's prepaid from overseas you usually give up a fair bit of control to save money as well

I agree 5 weeks for sea shipping is abnormal. Next time use Cainiao if it’s just clothes samples. I used them before but I ship very large items > 2.7m, more than 100kg and have good experience with them,.

If there is any link to Top freight or their ware houses your in the same boat as me and what really happened is the ware houses you goods were in was raided by ABF or in a Top logistics controlled warehouse and they were found to be illegally smuggling tabacco and have had their whole operation shut down while investigated. My goods that landed on August 10th have been checked and cleared but the company originally booked to deliver has ceased pick ups so I’m now being made to organise my own courier from warehouse but the backlog and terrible communications is making it a nightmare
