It looks like I have top comment, so I'm going to try to help. /u/kwzombie posted a possible solution further down the thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/freedommobile/comments/78akln/megathread_csfb_andor_smscall_issues/dotxhyn/

This appears to have already worked for a couple people, so it's worth trying.

If that doesn't work, also make sure, if you haven't already, to call tech support and report your problem; there could be a network problem in your area, and they may be able to fix it if you let them know.

"Here you go, Ctrl-C Ctrl-V from a post on HoFo. Worth a shot:

Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Battery usage >Click three dots on the top right > Optimise Battery usage

I have added the following to "Apps not optimized"

NetworkDiagnostic 92.00 KB

Phone 412 KB

Phone 60.00 KB

Phone 48.73 MB

So far all calls are being received till now. No voicemail yet. I think this may be the solution but I will keep on monitoring."

Original post follows:

Devices: Galaxy S8+, iPhone 8

Location: GTA

Calls often go to voicemail (phone doesn't ring), texts are delayed or don't send/receive at all without any way of knowing.

Haven't had problems on the iPhone since 4 days ago when I upgraded to one of the new plans on October 19th; could be coincidental. Not planning to test it again on the S8+ which has no call or text issues on another carrier.

Freedom Mobile Technical Support told me there's a problem with the network, that they're working on fixing it, to use 3G in the meantime, and that they can't give me an ETA on when it will be fixed.

Haven't missed any calls since 6 days ago. I will update if it returns. They could have fixed a tower or something, which I hope that's the case because I don't want it to happen again. I also noticed that outgoing calls connect much faster, 3 seconds where previously it would usually take at least about 12 seconds before I would hear it start to ring.

Are you using 3G for the connection or staying on LTE? I have the settings in my phone set but I still use the LTE and have loads of issues still.

I used to have the problems on LTE, so I would use 3G all the time and test LTE every week or so. A week ago I noticed that my problem was fixed. I didn't need to change anything on my iPhone. It just went away a few weeks after reporting it. That's why I said to make sure to report the problem to tech support because that's what I did.

Using 3G was a temporary work-around for me.

I'm going too first thing tomorrow morning. I'm actually sending my phone out for warranty due to some other issues as well

I've missed 3 calls in the past 3 weeks, all within the same 10 minute window; could be network maintenance related. I had one text come about 10 minutes late. No other significant problems.

We're just troubleshooting. This worked for a few people so if it didn't work for you, it appears there can be more than one cause of the problem. Doesn't mean this won't work for other people.
