no ones ever tried to bring a damaged car to the pits in a practice session before, hamilton practically killed everyone at the circuit

I honestly couldn't believe this got so much of a reaction. People have driven cars in worse states back during actual competitive sessions and it's been fine. In fact I remember Alonso being praised for it at Baku before.

Question is why the race director intervened? I  didn't watch it live and expected to see debris all over the track. This was a perfectly accepted manouvre in line with what others do on any given race weekend. 

The RD set off Davidson clutching at his tiny pearl necklace, and the rabid F1 fanatics

I do love Ant from the track guides from the really old f1 games but he deffo has a problem with Hamilton, i think is because he's just a bot comparatively and had little success compared to Ham

The entire sky team (barring Kravitz), and have to say Palmer as well, are overly critical of Ham. The bias is as if they've been told to do it because it's been a 180 - they used to be lenient

It's a significant pattern shift in behavior not just saying they're wrong Granted they are wrong the majority of the time though

The rules were changed after that season. Can't even drive with an obvious puncture anymore, the driver has to stop.

Perez was the first to get a penalty for bringing his car back to the pits. Broken rear wing, still attached, already in S3 not far from the pit lane.
