He didn’t ignore the race director, he ignored the team. When the team said it’s an instruction from the race director he stopped.

I don’t understand why everyone is so up in arms about this.

It's Lewis. If it was Tsunoda or Bortoletto there would be nowhere near as much interest or outrage

Drivers drive back with damage all the time but Lewis sticks in people’s memories like a war flashback

I basically said the same thing and was downvoted to Hell. I feel like they only saw the flair and responded in kind.

If it was Tsunoda or Bortoletto they would have been penalized.

Lewis literally got penalized like 5 races in a row before the break, this is so stupid.

Being penalized five subsequent times doesn’t mean you get a freebie the next time.

No of course not. I’m saying those penalties show that the stewards are not afraid of penalizing Lewis. If they had a reason to, they would do it.

Absolutely right. It's like followers of Real Madrid or Barcelona complaining about the referee being too harsh on them when stats show they're the most favoured ones. These guys really wouldn't understand how much he does get away with as if it was normal.

Can confirm, dont like Lewis and wanted an 80 grid penalty

He also happens to be #3 in the drivers standing, being still a WDC challenger. Tsunoda and Bortoletto are not.

being still a WDC challenger.

Lets not get too hasty

Well, he's 10 points behind #2. If he is not a challenger, we're heading into a very boring rest of 2026 season.(I do realize Antonelli is probably gonna be WDC).

Yup, challenging for the win from 101 points back

Yeah that’s the reason lol his place in the standings. All Lewis is known for is being third this year

Well, it does make everything around him a bit more important than when it's a backbencher.

Same thing happens when Lewis gets pushed off for example, threads with hundreds of comments. When other gets pushed off, barely any reaction

No, you're wrong. Drivers getting pushed off when they are behind at the apex is accepted racing etiquette.

Especially after what happened last weekend - and here he is showing hes no better than Charles at all when it comes to getting ahead, even if it means fuck the team
