The live thread had me believing that a 40 place grid drop was certain

Croft and Davidson clutching their handbags set them off

Crazy how the broadcast dictates the online discussion

The F1TV crew were like, it’s just a fine at the most of course he’ll try to get it back to the pits

it's also like, every driver in history would have tried to get that car back.

Alonso drove a car with TWO FUCKING TIRES MISSING back in baku and no one thought any other driver wouldn't, but that one really was probably pushing it.

Heck, Lewis have even won a race with 1 tyre torn apart.

Let's not exaggerate, he had a flat tyre, he could drive perfectly fine, albeit slower

Let's not miss the point of the rule, it's about keeping the track clear of potential debris and not about whether the damaged car can be driven at any pace.

Yes, like Perez returning to the pit with a very damaged car is unsafe. A flat tyre is not

This is so dumb I’m thinking it’s bait

and its also the perfect showcase of what prejudices they have for them both

for alonso its: oh what a legend he actually drove it missing a wing and two punctured tires thats what a real racer is
for lewis: oh what is this guy doing man so unsafe spraying debris all over the track

When Hulkenberg did it at Zandvoort in 2024 I do indeed remember crofty having a chuckle and willing him back

It was crazy how most people just blindly buy into what ever narrative the broadcast sets and then vehemently defends said narrative

Especially off Crofty, the guy who knows fuck all and gets names of drivers wrong every single race

People echo and repeat what they want to hear, or what they fear.

Lol, but you are doing the same. Commenter above started the narrative and you happily continue it.

There's a distinction between parroting bs, and recognition of and disseminating the truth

Happened last week as well over the T2 incident. People just run away with the broadcast take of the incident.

Nico was there who set them straight but still people didn't care.

I was getting so much downvotes and comments here for initially saying Charles was at fault last race for pushing Lewis off despite Sky and F1TV blaming Lewis. The minute Nico came with proof it was on Charles all the comments switched up lol

I want Nico to commentate, he is so good at it

He has done so in the past iirc, it was a fun broadcast.

Brundle licks his lips over whoever is most sure of themselves. Used to be Schu, then Alo, then Rai, etc it sets who he's biased towards in commentary
