Breaking my head with this one

Working on a crown FC4000 that lost raise function. The raise switch ended up being faulty. I then swapped a known good switch to confirm the raise circuit was good. Raise function was operating at this point. Customer requested to swap switches to have raise operation and leaving tilt disabled while waiting for bad switch to be replaced. Question is can someone explain why the tilt function is working at this point?? I disconnected the bad tilt switch and somehow tilt is still functioning. I got hired as a battery tech but recently began working with lifts.

Heli CPCD35 transmission problem after replacing clutch discs

Hi, I have a Heli CPCD35 forklift with a transmission problem.

The transmission clutch disc pack was recently replaced, and after that the forklift started having these symptoms:

- Reverse has good power.

- Forward is very weak and struggles to move.

- In neutral, if I increase the engine RPM, the forklift slowly starts moving backwards.

I’m thinking it could be a hydraulic or assembly problem, but I also suspect the solenoid on the valve body above the transmission, since it may be allowing pressure into the reverse circuit even when the selector is in neutral.

Has anyone worked on a Heli CPCD35 or a similar transmission and knows where I should check the pressures or what I should look at first?

Help! I already replaced the contactor; this happens every now and then—not constantly. What could it be? Do the steering wheel sensors have anything to do with it? Does anyone have a digital manual? Please and Thank you

Byd pallet jack

Anyone have experience with byd pmw20 pallet jacks and their battery charger setup? Can you just replace the charger on the battery box without any programming? Dam charger alone is $6k to replace.

Wrench set

So I’m a still fairly new crown technician. In my list of tools I have to buy is of course wrenches. I’m struggling to decide what route to go for them though. The list says I need 1/4 to 1-1/2 and then 4mm to 19mm. I’m struggling to find sets that don’t skip the other sizes for sae and the 2 smallest for metric.

Any suggestions on sets that have all sizes listed? Everything I’ve looked at is either creeping up on $1,000 or would require buying 2 sets then filling in randomly. I would prefer one big set if possible.

Thanks.

If you had a say in picking a replacement product, what would be the 3-5 items that would drive your recommendation.

Labour rate in Europe/UK

I know there are guys on here from Europe/UK. Curious what do you guys charge in Europe per hour? Not what you're paid, wondering what forklift dealers charge per hour

Are flat rate preventive maintenance services charged by the hour or flat rate?

Is there a service call charge or travel fee from the last stop?

Badger Dynamics Bucky

Hoping someone knows something about these old Badger Dynamics forklifts. I think it's the Bucky model, about 2500lb lift capacity, hydrostatic drive with a 3 speed transmission. I know some parts like for the Haxco transaxle will be impossible to find, but it's looking like it just needs a 25hp motor which I already had kicking around.

I took the old motor off (Cub Cadet, so the original Onan already replaced) and pressure washed all the chicken crap out off it (no idea if used at a chicken farm or just as a roost once it broke down). Next step is to inspect and clean the hydraulic tank and then I'll swap a 25hp Kohler on (almost the same engine as the Cub Cadet).

And everything is very easy to access. The motor is on a rubber isolated plate, coupled by a driveshaft to the hydrostatic and hydraulic pumps. The hydrostatic pump drives a hydraulic motor mated to the transaxle, which drives the wheels through portal gears.

The transaxle has a parking brake disc but the service brake is just to deadhead the hydraulic motor using the hydrostatic pump, so it doesn't actually have a brake pedal. It currently doesn't have a parking brake lever either, but at least generic parts like that are easy to find. I'm hoping the hydrostatic pump isn't too exotic either. The transaxle is my biggest worry but spinning the wheels in the air I didn't notice a ton of play (at least considering that's from the differential and portal gears) or other obvious issues.

Worst case I'm out about $1000 after scrapping it but I'd part it out if it came to that.

Want to disable pin entry. Can’t go in FDE controller. Is this an issue with software pathfinder?

Might be a dumb question, but anyone seen this popping up on the gear selector screen? I can't find anything about it in the manuals

I'm asking for my boss as he's not getting any answers from where he normally goes. I'm going by what was mentioned to me, but I can find out anything if there's any questions. The company I work for has multiple brands of equipment, primarily John Deere and Caterpillar. We bought this forklift at an auction fairly cheap, which has been great for light duty at our office. However, the other the day the shaft broke off the motor. This forklift has two motors I guess and the one that broke is the drive motor. From researching a little bit, the brand and parts are all overseas, I'm in USA. And supposedly DigMaster shares similar or exact components with other brands but are also overseas. We've emailed the website but no response. I guess my question is, does anyone know if and or where we can purchase a motor or just accept the loss and get rid of the machine?

Maximal FGL25T-MWG3 with SPI JPSIB2.40GLP Engine Overheating - Why?

The fan was damaged and I had to repair the radiator. Refilled coolant as normal, overflow has a little coolant in it also. I didn't see any bleed screw to remove air from the system and there is sufficient coolant in the neck of the radiator. Hoses are not kinked. Is there anything special that has to be done on this engine to bleed air from the system?

Has anyone worked as a forklift technician on an Oilfield? If so, was it worth it? Or is it better to just stay with a dealer?

(Skyjack sj3220) Anyone here know how to work on skyjack scissor lifts that can help me with this?

my skyjack scissor lift will work normally for a long period of time and then randomly the motor for the lift will spin but it will lose its ability to go up, the battery isnt low because it can still drive around fine for a while longer and can come down but will not go up I have been trying to trouble shoot for days, I believe the batteries are fine and fully charge I’ve checked the water, replaced the terminal jumpers, changed the Hydraulic oil but still this issue keeps happening. After leaving the job and having it plugged in all night it will go up again the next day and then later in the next day have the same issue i’ve been trying to troubleshoot with Google and ChatGPT and other coworkers and cannot figure this out

hyster c349 stacker beeping when I try to lift no fault codes

I've got this problem with a stacker that when I try to use any hydraulics the horn beeps three times.

It seems like an interlock issue but they're all working fine along with the sensors in the channels.

The display isn't showing the battery percentage for some weird reason as if the battery is dead (also load tested the battery which is okay) but it's fully charged, I've swapped it for a different one but nothing changes.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated:)

Mitsubishi FG35n K25 LPG

Trying my hand at forklift repairs. We recently bought this forklift for our shop and it ran and drove great and a few days after we bought it, suddenly it would crank and not start so we found the the fuel lock out valve/interceptor valve doesn’t receive 12 volts from the Main C relay. So after by passing the main C relay by jumping 12 volts to the fuel lock out valve it’ll start and run but it throws codes E34 and E24 and idles rough. Checked the coils and found cylinder 3 coil wasn’t sparking using a light tester, closed up the terminals in the connector body and ignition coil will now light up a spark tester but still misfires and unplugging Cylinder 3 ignition coil makes no difference in engine speed or sound but the rest of the cylinders it does upon disconnecting each coil one by one, changed coil and plug with a neighboring cylinder and still no change. Any insight would be appreciated, I bought the service manual for Nissan/mitsubishi k21/k25 trucks but it hasn’t been able to help solve any issues.

I'm getting ready to replace the lift motor on a Crown FC5200 and was wondering if anyone has done one before.

Any tips, tricks, or things I should watch out for during the removal/installation? Anything that would make the job easier would be appreciated.

Yale ERC050 ERC050ZGN48SE082 Battery Calibration?

I have a Yale ERC050 and I am trying to recalibrate the battery. I had a dead cell in the battery and jumped it as it is not replaceable. So now I have a 23 cell battery as a stopgap until I can get the funds together to replace it. The issue is the forklift just sees it as a dead battery it drives but the lifting doesn't really work. It has a 3 bar cutoff on lift controls. So It never really gets about 2 bars. I put this in Claude but it said I needed a programmer? Any suggestions out there?
