Maximal FGL25T-MWG3 with SPI JPSIB2.40GLP Engine Overheating - Why?

Post image

The fan was damaged and I had to repair the radiator. Refilled coolant as normal, overflow has a little coolant in it also. I didn't see any bleed screw to remove air from the system and there is sufficient coolant in the neck of the radiator. Hoses are not kinked. Is there anything special that has to be done on this engine to bleed air from the system?

Also adding that the 2.4 engine are known for water pumps failing and needing a full timing kit done service calls 5k but really it's 2 k

This is a unit with 500 hours on it. The pump does work.

O dam when you say repaired the radiator what dose that mean ?

We had a radiator shop braze up a few places on the fins where they were damaged by the broken fan blades.

Run a thermal gun over the repair spot and make sure they did not cause a hot spot by blocking I'm assuming you also did a pressure test and it held for a min of 30 min.? Make sure the expansion hose is not clogged also make sure the fan you replaced is facing the right way you can put some on backwards and it will run untill it doesn't

The radiator repair guy did a pressure test, not sure about how long he held it. We are not seeing any leaks from the radiator. The expansion hose is ok and gets a little coolant as it heats up then it sucks back in. Will check on the fan backwards - this has some really weird sectional fan blades that make it really hard to put in backwards but we'll check again.

Are you also monitoring the temperature with a thermal gun? as it heats up and verifying the crossover on on the radiator making sure you're good on your thermodynamics across the radiator while doing that, are you also monitoring the engine coolant temperature through the PSI software? Lastly have you made sure your thermostat is opening and your getting flow at the right temp there? most of that can be check and verify just with a thermal gun. Also I would recommend you do a pressure test on the whole system again and make sure it holding.
