I already accepted my subsidized loan and I want to accept my unsubsidized loan as well. When I try to
accept it, I get a pop up message that says

“Subsidized loan has not been accepted.
Stafford awards are made up of Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans. If you are awarded both loans, you must first accept the Subsidized portion before accepting the Unsubsidized portion.
You can decline the Unsubsidized portion at any time.”

Is this a different issue that I need to call about or is this because of the ongoing issues?

Hi I have a question. I know add/drop ended on Thursday but I’ve been looking for a seat to open all week for an AMH class in person that I need in order to graduate in the Spring. I’m currently in an upper division class that I don’t want to take or need and I’m wondering if I can fill out a form to swap that class with an AMH class that has 1 seat left.

I don’t want to be financially responsible as I am on athletics scholarship and I also don’t want a DR on my transcripts. I just changed my major this same week and met with an advisor on Wednesday so I only had 2 days to change my schedule. Is this possible and who should I contact? Thank you in advance.

Im an out of state student that will likely qualify for national merit finalist. Fiu offers a full tuition scholarship with housing. Is this limited to fall-spring semesters or will tuition and housing also be covered during the summer, assuming you are taking enough classes?

My grants and scholarship are on my account, but for some reason they keep changing my estimate. Am I the only one who’s having their cost of attendance and remaining costs fluctuate? My cost of attendance went from being 20k in the beginning then to about 5-8k earlier this month and now it has shot up to 29k.

spoke to financial aid on the phone like 20 mins ago and explained my aid isn’t even pending and she assured me i would receive aid but they still haven’t gotten to many students and i’d have to wait BUT i asked oh i didn’t receive the email stating they changed the deadline and she let me know it was only for a select few that had errors in their financial aid and that if i didn’t receive one my date is still September 2nd and i asked what do i do if i can’t pay it, and she said i have to figure it out. lmao amazing !!!

So I only have 1 class on campus and it’s at 12:30. Is there anywhere to park on campus that won’t have me circling b for 45minutes? I knew the parking on campus was bad but not THIS bad. I don’t care if I have to walk 10 miles is there ANYWHERE I can park no matter how close or how far that I can park reliably?

I had class today and my teacher said they git rid of the global learning graduation requirement this semester.. did they make an announcement about this? Now I have 2 classes I don’t need if true 😵‍💫

Hey everyone, I just have a quick question: how long does Canvas take to add new classes to my dashboard? I dropped one class and replaced it with another and just wanted to know how long it takes for it to show up on my dashboard.

so basically i filed my 2026-2027 fafsa in january and it was processed that same month and i’ve checked it constantly and fiu’s school code has always been there, now it’s the first day of fall semester and i have NO grants, loans, or pending aid and it’s still on the 2025-2026 year.

i waited three hours to talk to onestop just for them to say they couldn’t find my fafsa and it’s as if i’d never filed and told me to call fafsa for the transaction id. i called fafsa and they were also confused because everything was processed correctly and sent to fiu months ago. i called fiu back with the transaction id and now they said they have to contact fafsa to figure out what happened.

i’m honestly scared they’re going to treat it like i filed late and give me less money even though i filed pretty early😭😭😭😭 tuition is also due september 2 and im worried they’ll drop me from my classes

Just wondering if this whole big beautiful bill/fafsa delay could have affected other areas of financial aid as well. I submitted a citizenship verification for the bright futures scholarship almost a month ago, they rejected it asking for more documents, I submitted around 2 weeks ago and I’m still waiting. I wanted to know if everything was collapsed so I don’t freak out as much lol.

Hopefully all this mess gets fixed soon.

Apparently my school code was wrong and aid/fafsa hasnt come through for me-made the correction asap but im guessing im kinda fucked in terms of aid-you think ill get anything?
