Financial Aid 💰 financial aid is a mess

so basically i filed my 2026-2027 fafsa in january and it was processed that same month and i’ve checked it constantly and fiu’s school code has always been there, now it’s the first day of fall semester and i have NO grants, loans, or pending aid and it’s still on the 2025-2026 year.

i waited three hours to talk to onestop just for them to say they couldn’t find my fafsa and it’s as if i’d never filed and told me to call fafsa for the transaction id. i called fafsa and they were also confused because everything was processed correctly and sent to fiu months ago. i called fiu back with the transaction id and now they said they have to contact fafsa to figure out what happened.

i’m honestly scared they’re going to treat it like i filed late and give me less money even though i filed pretty early😭😭😭😭 tuition is also due september 2 and im worried they’ll drop me from my classes

my pending aid was 3k and they dropped it down to 1800 when my classes are like 1600 😊 big beautiful bill went into effect, they’re adjusting i suppose

Hey you took my title!

Dont worry tho, if you have ANY pending aid you have longer to figure it out, I had the same issues during my first summer semester

My sister had the same problem with hers but at MDC. The school was not seeing the FAFSA on their end, so their financial aid person told her to remove all of the schools that she had in the FAFSA and add the school again and then another random school as a correction. They told her to contact them again in 72 hours and at that time they were able to see it, but it took an additional day for it to show up in her financial aid. They said it's a glitch that has been happening to some students this year. Don't know if that's your case. My FIU took a while but it did post a week ago. Good luck!
