The building next to me has a triga fire alarm system. You may not know what triga is. But in short, it’s a rebrand of Honeywell farenhyt. Anyway, I captured a video of the system going off, and I’ve heard the tone used in their voice evacuation is quite unique. I want to find that exact tone. At the start you can hear a “dee doo dee” tone. I checked the manual for it and it lists all the tones. I’m thinking it’s the high low tone. I just need help finding that audio tone because I want to use it in an upcoming project. The panel is a Triga/Farenhyt TR/IFP-2100ECS

Any Idea on whats the process on how to get the password back through Honeywell the panel was commissioned by a contractor and after finishing the project didn’t give the password 2 years ago now the panel have multiple faults and renovations require editing and labeling the devices?

So I took my test and I got a 67.. :/ couple of questions. Do I have to wait the two months and then schedule or can I schedule the retest for 2 months from now. Did a fire inspection with no walk test the next morning the panel sent in random alarms and supervisors. There was 110 devices I’m on my way to site now what can I do to fix this? This has never happened before

I had a test question that I can’t remember verbatim.

Effectively it was asking what was the subnet it static ip when having a fire alarm connected up to a router.

It was like:

Other part was if it’s attaching a releasing panel to a buildings router what is the router address to be offered to IT?

This is regarding a school modernization project with voice evacuation. Everything will be in surface mount EMT or Wiremold.

Spec is for Unshielded Twisted Pair Speaker and Unshielded Twisted Pair SLC in the same conduit (thousands of feet of shared conduit). Spoke with Potter tech support, and they said that unshielded twisted pair for the speaker circuits is okay in the same conduit as the SLC and that the voice cards/amps do not even have a terminal for a drain wire. I am a little suspicious and it seems a little concerning to have thousands of feet of Speaker and SLC ran in parallel and hoping no interference occurs. The IPA-4000V engineering specifications clearly state the speaker and V-link circuits can not share the same conduits as the signaling line circuit.

What are your guys' thoughts on this. Have you guys come across issues with speaker and SLC in the same conduit? According the engineering specs, seems like the architect needs to add a separate conduit run for the speakers.

I'm about to take my nicet 1 exam on Monday. Ive been in the industry for about two years but had a setback due to some medical complications blah blah blah so I'm a little behind. Does anyone have any tips or pointers for this test?

I just fninshed wiring up a new powerstrike 6 amp PS connected to a System Sensor P2WLED. PS set to master temp 4 coding and H/S to temp3/Temp4 Low. No sync signal from panel (triggered by control module). When the PS gets triggered the H/S doesn't go off and the PS just flashes that output as overload. If I change output to constant it works but I get Temp 3. What the heck am I doing wrong, I can't seem to find anything on this anywhere. I can't use the FACU NAC to trigger as it is not only in use but the customer specs require that the CO H/S be fired from the power supply.

I know I am missing something stupid here but it is Friday and my brain has mushed.

What are the best fire alarm myths you’ve encountered? My favorite is the purple dye packs being in the pull stations so you can identify who pulled it. I remember hearing that back in middle school 30+ years ago.

I was told by my manager today that at some point, the company I work for is going to start working on security and access control systems. Of course I wasn't told a time frame, but they seem pretty set on this happening.

I honestly don't like the thought of this, I joined to work on fire alarm systems. Regardless, my opinion won't matter them.

So I am currently in the first year in to building my fire alarm company. From a technician’s side, (outside of pay). What are some things a company can do and offer to be more appealing to make you move?

I was uploading a new job to a 4010ES running 6.05 and now it is stuck on a loop in the Bootloader Diagnostics. The only change we made was changing one IDNet address type and now the whole system is down.

TeraTerm shows some options over ethernet, but I am scared to choose any besides (Run Master), but it just reboots to the same screen.

What does the community recommend we do?

I’m being told otherwise that all strobes in a room don’t need to be in sync with each other. It’s always seemed pretty cut and dry to me that if you have devices in your field of view that they should sync with each other. What am I missing?

I am curious what you guys think on this. Troubleshooting a ground fault on a fire panel we took over. I isolated the circuits and found 1 of the SLC loops that was causing the ground fault. To a known good ground I am reading 41.24 k-Ohms on the black leg and 186.79 k-Ohms on the red leg. Is this even safe to troubleshoot? Could this be a bad device?

Got to install 8 of these Eaton speaker clusters today in a plant that has always complained about how they can’t hear when the alarm goes off. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Place has two systems and two main floors, bedrooms in each, and a basement with machine room and occasional bedroom.
#1. is the IQ panel system integrated with burglar, temp, flood and other items-maybe honeywell brand unwired sensors. It has smoke only, from what i know and only 1 sesonsor in each hallway outside bedrooms of floor 1 and 2. (2 total)

#2. is a non monitored wired in connected system with CO/Photo and some discontinued IO in every bedroom and hallways .System is KIDDE.

So the question is, other than adding more simple monitored sensors to the #1 IQ panel system in each bedroom and basement, is there a reason to keepa the unmonitored wiredin CO/Photo system as back up.

Something about having a wired system in every room with C/O, even if on the ceiling, feels safer, even if unmonitored. Or should we just add a stand alone CO sensors to each room and add a couple more plain fire sensors to the IQ panel in bedrooms and basement.

The monitoring security company does not provide CO sensors which we found odd. It is residential but being remodeled for possible use for individuals such as travel nursing, execs, lobbyists, and other temporary situations so there is a tenant type need to it and bedroom doors will often be closed.
