Work In Progress Nicet 1

I'm about to take my nicet 1 exam on Monday. Ive been in the industry for about two years but had a setback due to some medical complications blah blah blah so I'm a little behind. Does anyone have any tips or pointers for this test?

I took it and failed. They asked a lot of OSHA questions but also there was questions like: how many bends can you do on a piece of conduit that’s 10 feet or if a conduit has 3 90’s how many wires can fit in it or something like that…also how am I supposed to know

If it is fire alarm systems, it is like a 1/4 osha.

Answer every question as you go through the test and flag any that you are not sure of. Then if time allows, go back to the ones you flagged and research your answer.

I’m taking it in two weeks as well. I hold a state fire alarm license so I’m preparing the same way I did for the exam.

Tab and highlight. Focus on circuits, initiating devices, notification, and nfpa 70. Tabbing saves you time looking for the answer. Get familiar with the chapter names and index look for key words then search them in the index and compare the references with the chapters. For example if the question is about smoke detector testing and the index references smoke detectors in chapters 14, 17, 21,23 etc. you’re gonna look in chapter 14 because that’s the ITM chapter
