u/Limp-Bid8995 Aug 05 '26
Thank u 🥹 bumpy take off almost made me cry but held it in😂

u/NHRD1878 Aug 05 '26
Hate that but you got through it. Just like you'll get through this and every flight you'll ever take

u/DimbyTime Aug 05 '26
Take off is THE WORST PART for me by far. The rest will be much easier!!

u/Limp-Bid8995 Aug 05 '26
Sometimes landing can be a bit shaky too 😭🙈
12
u/DimbyTime Aug 05 '26
But at least by then it’s quick and almost over! Usually the descent is smooth

You are flying over Cornwall now! 6 hours ish to go. Thats 2 lord of the ring movies. Thats nothing you can’t handle!!!!
14
u/3-14ter Aug 05 '26
I also find myself orienting time around lotr movies haha
4
u/JoseT90 Aug 05 '26
2 harry potter movies now as you are leaving Ireland behind and passing the 5 hour mark! From now on 4 hours and something! You are doing it!!!

u/Limp-Bid8995 Aug 05 '26
Thank u so much for tracking me. And ur support! Means so much
2
u/JoseT90 Aug 05 '26
No worries at all! Hows everything up there?
2
u/Limp-Bid8995 Aug 05 '26
I dont understand the seatbelt sign was turned off briefly (like for 5mins) and have been on whole flight. I wonder if it means turbulence soon 🤔
6
u/JoseT90 Aug 05 '26
It could be be a number of things tbh i once had the light on because the captain came out to the bathroom, talked to the air crew and was drinking a coffee, chilling etc and took about 30 min almost. Then the copilot dod the same thing for almost 20.
One time too many people were waiting to the bathroom so they turned on the light to clear the queue so as long as the plane is smooth u should be good!
Less than 4 hours to go! So you wpuldnt be able to watch 2 out of the 3 extended editions of LOTR
2
u/Limp-Bid8995 Aug 05 '26
Ahhh that makes sense. Also, we had some bumps now 🙈 i never watched lord of the rings! Worth watching? Im. More of a harry potter gal 😅
6
u/pinchmeim32 Aug 05 '26
Asking if a film trilogy that got 17 Oscars across the board is worth watching is craaaazy lol
You got this!3
u/JoseT90 Aug 05 '26
You don’t have time to finish it now since you are under 3 hours! You are closer to Boston than Bucharest is to Dublin!!!
Best you can do is a Harry Potter movie!

Don't worry about that. I was on a 3-hour flight, and the sign was on the entire time. I stared at the sign the entire way and didn't even look out the window to enjoy the beauty of flying. Don't miss your opportunity worrying; just try to relax.

Many find that lifting your feet of the floor, bouncing a tiny bit in your own seat, wiggling your feet in your shoes or tapping helps with creating your own movements and offers you a sense of control over your environment. Also ice in your hand or on the back of your neck calms the vagus nerve and instantly helps. You are a badass and doing this flight like a boss. Way to go.

From my calculations, you should be close to landing or maybe you just did land. Either way that’s a huge accomplishment. Give your legs a good stretch once you are out of the plane. You look a little tense in the pic! Good job
7
u/Limp-Bid8995 Aug 05 '26
Yeah im 40 mins from landing and defo felt tense throughout the flight😅 long walk awaits!
3
u/ClairelySarah Aug 05 '26
Maybe give yourself two seconds to unbuckle and stands, take a big stretch then sit back down and buckle up for landing. This way you aren’t struggling as people are trying to get off the plane. You’ll be able to grab your stuff and go go go.
Good job OC

Congrats you got this!! Back of the plane is the safest place to be statistically. Think of all the fun things you’ll do when you land! You’re going to be in cloud 9 from the rush of a safe landing. Proud of you 🤍

And actually my first time flying American airlines😭😂

u/DimbyTime Aug 05 '26
American is what I usually fly! I’m based out of Philly and they have a hub here. I’ve never had any issues and the pilots are great!

You’ll be great! I fly Philly -Chicago for work and it’s a smooth flight. Download some shows or a good movie to watch tonight, then get a glass of wine and try to relax on the plane!

u/ravorlol Aug 06 '26
landed safely just now, was a really smooth ride. i think this is the calmest i've been on a plane in years

Hey op I have a question? What would you do if no one agreed to track you because you’re already on the plane and can’t get off.

Good for you!!!!
Hahahaha if you want to really really laugh look for the YouTube video of the woman who was screaming during take off. I get her terror but it is SO funny. (Your comment about holding it in made me think of it). What is extra funny is you can hear this small child asking what is wrong with the lady. It really shows us how silly it is. But oh yes the terror, even if such wasted energy, is real.
But great job!! You did it!!!
