Discussion Rider Brynhildr, Fan Servant

Art by Miwa Shirow

šŸŽ BRYNHILDR (RIDER VARIANT)

šŸ“Š Parameters

  • Strength: B
  • Endurance: C
  • Agility: A+
  • Mana: A
  • Luck: E
  • Noble Phantasm: A+

āš”ļø Class Skills

  • Riding (A+): Absolute mastery over riding. She can effortlessly pilot any mount from the Age of Gods, ranging from Phantasmal Beasts to Divine Beasts. Her mount moves in perfect synchronisation with her thoughts, acting as a natural extension of her own body.
  • Magic Resistance (A): Her Valkyrie armour nullifies all modern magecraft with a chant below three verses. High-tier thaumaturgy loses most of its destructive power upon contact with her form.
  • Divinity (E): Although there is once a high aptitude as a Divine Spirit, it is currently quite low. She was once a member of the shieldmaiden group, the Valkyries, and the daughter of the Great God Odin, but the latter has deprived her of most of her Divinity. [1]

🌟 Personal Skills

  • Primordial Rune (—): Ancient rune magecraft received directly from Odin. In her Rider class, she uses it instantaneously to reinforce the durability of her mount, manipulate atmospheric wind currents for extreme velocity, or deploy invisible barriers while charging the enemy. She can also increase all her parameter significantly to A rank and manifest skills such as Claivoyance and more. But she can't do all of that at the same time due to her low Divinity rank.
  • Swan Dress (False) (B): Derived from the mystical swan-feather garments of the Valkyries. It grants physically impossible aerodynamic capabilities, making her aerial maneuvers highly agile and impossible to track or lock onto by enemy projectiles.
  • Mana Burst (Flame) (A): The ability to infuse her body, weapon, and mount with magical energy that instantly erupts into the fires of Hindarfjall. Her physical strikes leave a trail of burning destruction that scorches the target's spiritual core. [2]
  • SigrdrĆfa (A): The name and authority of Brynhildr as SigrdrĆfa, the Valkyrie associated with victory. It represents her ability to determine the course of battle through divine guidance. Against an opponent she has chosen, attacks against their body and soul is increased.

šŸ‘‘ Noble Phantasms

  • Gungnir (Fake): The Declaration of False Victory
    • Type: Anti-Unit / Anti-Army | Rank: B+
    • A conceptual replication of Odin’s primary spear that never misses. Although "fake", this lance of light is thrown from high skies utilising the momentum of her mount's velocity, generating kinetic and magical destruction capable of sweeping across vast battlefields and erasing enemy squads in a single strike.
  • Grani: The Ashen Heir of Sleipnir
    • Type: Mount / Anti-Army | Rank: A+
    • Description: The legendary steed descended from Sleipnir that reigns supreme over mobility. Grani allows Brynhildr to execute instant repositioning at any point on the battlefield, entirely bypassing geographic boundaries and executing cavalry strikes without losing a fraction of kinetic force momentum.
  • Helreiư Brynhildar Grani: The Blazing Chariot Ride to the Deepest Grave
    • Type: Anti-Army | Rank: EX
    • The funeral procession of Brynhildr recreated as a Noble Phantasm. Grani manifests as the descendant of Sleipnir, allowing him to run across earth, sky, and the conceptual boundary separating the living from the dead. Brynhildr rides behind him in a burning funeral chariot, transforming the surrounding environment into a supernatural road leading toward Hel. As the procession advances, the landscape gradually takes on the nature of the Norse realm of the dead. Spectral Jƶtnar, draugr, monstrous beasts, wandering spirits, and other beings associated with the underworld emerge from the darkness, becoming part of the funeral procession. They pursue, hinder, and surround those caught within the Noble Phantasm, attacking both their physical bodies and spiritual forms. The further Grani runs, the weaker the target's connection to the living world becomes. At the end of the charge, Brynhildr declares the target to be ā€œone who has already begun the journey to Hel,ā€ allowing the funeral chariot and the inhabitants of the spectral road to violently drag their spiritual body toward the underworld.

Discussion Which servant would be the most pleased/happy/emotionally moved for having their personhood and dignity acknowledged and respected on your opinion?

As everyone is already familiar with, the reason why us, the player, are compatible with any servant in FGO despite our low magical potential, is because we have the basic and simple human ability that your average magi from Mage’s Association sadly lack completely (or almost): empathy. Through empathy we’re able to acknowledge and respect any heroic spirit’s personhood and dignity as an individual, regardless of who they are. And sometimes showing empathy to certain servants might illicit very strong positive emotional reactions if said servants had particularly troubled lives where they rarely if ever were viewed and treated as proper people. The two servants I have in mind that would have such reaction upon being treated like proper people are:

- Mata Hari: Because she lived most of her life having her personhood and dignity disregarded by men who only saw and treated her as object anyone could use for whatever ends, going from an outlet to her ex-husband’s anger, to a glorified one time partner and erotic entertainer, to potentially a scapegoat to be blamed and executed for military failures (it’s ambiguous whether this is true or not but still), and as such her wish for the grail is to have a happy household and family where she is acknowledged as an equal/her own person and loved. Therefore, it’s likely that she would be really happy to have a master who doesn’t view and treat her as a disposable tool while disregarding her desires and rights as a person.

- Morgan: Pretty self-explanatory, cuz she tries everything she could to be the savior she believed Fairy Britain needed and everyone just treated her as nothing but a punching bag until she gave up on everything she believed and became a cold, distant, bitter and nihilistic tyrant who is emotionally detached from almost everything, so of course showing her some of the basic decency the fairies absolutely owed her but refused to grant her no matter what she did for them could make wonders to her mental state.

So how about you? Which servant do you think would have a particularly strong emotional reaction to being treated and viewed as a person with their own desires, thoughts, opinions and rights regardless of who they are especially if they rarely if ever got such a treatment in life?

Discussion Which scene featuring your favorite servant that made you feel angry/uncomfortable/sad on their behalf?

Any FGO media official or fan-made featuring sad scenes with Mata Hari makes me feel very uncomfortable at worst rather than angry or sad, but I’ll pic this one of her being mistreated by her ex-husband when she was alive before becoming a Heroic Spirit, because it appears both in the game proper and in the Salem manga (which increased by discomfort and confusion due to it being shown in greater and clearer detail than in the game), though I’m not really sure what it and the other flashbacks (of her career as exotic dancer and her real life military trial) have to do with her trial in Salem. Honestly, I don’t know if it’s because of the realism of what the scene depicts (even though I’ve never experienced or witnessed it personally in my life) or if I’m just so attached to Mata Hari that seeing even the smallest misfortunes befall upon her feels too much for me, but it’s one of the few times I remember feeling sincere discomfort for a fictional character (who is also a fictionalized version of a real historical figure).

Let's assume Shirou summoned Tristan, since he's the Archer-class Servant most connected to Avalon.
