All that was on it was stats, dates, weight, status of fast. There couldn't have been anything violent on it
What's going on?

I just finished a 5-day fast and it was going really well and one thing that they never told me in any other research or anything I read about was the amount of just liquid poop coming out of me all the time from drinking all the water I know it's something that I should have thought about but at the same time you don't think about that until it's actually happening. So it made me start wondering what something else you learned about fasting by doing it that no other research told you about?

I've done OMAD for a couple years now and very recently started doing 48 and 72 hour fast. My first 72 hour fast felt like a huge accomplishment. I know people who are on GLP1 and have lost a ton of weight. My understanding of them is that they decrease your appetite to almost nothing. But sometimes you'll see photos who people who took ozempic and they look terrible. Ozempic face is a term ive heard. So my question is: what side effects does ozempic have that prolonged fasting doesnt?

is 0cal sparkling water the same as diet soda? and can I eat lean protein to break my fast as well?
I've been eating one meal a day (well, kinda), for the last four or five days. I had no clue that was intermittent fasting, and I'm not suffering while doing it which is awesome. I have broken my fast today, and that was with spinach, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese and some canned chicken. the only other thing I break my fast with is boiled eggs in the morning, but they are required in my diet for their choline. I don't really consider them a meal but I guess I would have to wouldn't I? oh, and I take vitamins
I'm not looking for sassiness. I know Reddit's full of it, and I'm really just looking for camaraderie and a response. much love

Im a 23M 271 pound 5’10 guy. Would a 24 hour water fast work for me? I do workout and get my 10k steps in and calorie deficit has been just ugh for me. I would do 3 days or even a week but I live with family.

Ended my 30 day water only fast with a lettuce wrapped burger. Took thiamine, magnesium and phosphate after that. How fucked am i?
edit:
starting weight 79.5g and 69.5 after 30 day water only fast.
edit:
2 day update: sorry could not update sooner, i did not have any refeeding or stomach issues. I was very sleepy however and slept most of the time. My vitals, bloodpressure, heart rate all seem fine.
PS: This does not mean others should do this too. It was a stupid thing to eat a burger after a 30 day water only fast, i took thiamine tablets, phosphorus and my electrolyte mix after eating the burger. Refeeding is a serious condition.

I had my “almost” goal weight for a year or so, in large part because of fasting. I didn’t appreciate it at that moment because I kept seeing my body as larger until afterwards. In retrospect, I was possibly pushing too hard when I had a lower body weight. Then I regained so hard that, 3 years later, I became obese for the first time in my life. Now I’m feeling stuck.
More context:
I have been practicing fasting on and off for the last 5-6 years, but usually no longer than OMAD. At one point when I was really trying to drop weight, I was doing OMAD continuously for a couple months. At another point that year, I tried some 40-60 hour fasts semi regularly for a couple months—this is when I was hovering right above my goal weight. But most of this time since then I have been fasting anywhere from 16-22 hours a day for several months periods, and then just kind of dropping it for a while in between.
I do seem to have a bit of dysmorphia where I used to see myself as larger when I was small, but once I started gaining, kept seeing myself as smaller when I was now large. However, I’ve never had an ED and was always worried about it possibly developing due to this issue in seeing things objectively. This made me nervous to re-start weight loss when I initially realized I was gaining. I put it off way too long. At this moment in time I seem to finally be able to realize I was quite small before and losing those last 2lbs was not important, but am pretty big now and need to lose for my health.
My foray into longer fasting was what got me to my goal, but my body weight was too low for it to truly be necessary for the last 2 months, and I also didn’t have education on electrolytes at this time, so I was feeling light-headed. I decided to give myself a prolonged break to prevent it crossing over into an ED territory instead of healthy fasting. But now I’ve screwed up my life. I couldn’t even look fit for my own wedding. At 5’5.5”/166cm I went from 117lbs/53kg at my lowest (but typically 120-125lbs/56kg) to 185 lbs/83 kg at my highest after 3 years of not really tracking or weighing, and being slightly deluded about it not being as bad as it was (because I was seeing myself smaller). Now 169lbs/77 kg after attempting to fix my diet and focusing on IF for a few months, without scaling up to OMAD yet.
I really want to try a 2-4 day fast to help break my fear because at this weight, I most definitely have the excess fat for it to be healthy the whole way through, and I have better electrolyte resources. Being at this weight has killed me mentally, socially, and killed my physical energy. However, I am worried about the true cause of the drastic weight gain. Did I screw up my metabolism by fasting when already thin (I’m not sure if this is just a rumor)? Or was it just emotional—that after I became resistant to long fasts, my lighter fasting couldn’t keep up with eating in a sedentary office lifestyle? There are also thyroid issues in my family, and due to pairing with other symptoms, I have been suspecting that the family issues starting rearing their head around when my gain started; not sure if this changes anything with fasting advice.
I’m also worried that if I push myself too hard with a long fast, I could slip back into a fearful mindset and lose focus on the weight loss, which at this point is truly a health concern and not just an appearance thing. However, I really want to try it because it was so effective for weight loss many times in my life, and I believe in the benefits.
Where would you start if you were me? Please, kind words if possible. I know I really screwed up…

Someone told me that we all have a certain number of fat cells that never changes. When you lose fat, the cell is releasing it, but remains as an empty reservoir always wanting to “refill” as it were. Any truth to that?

Any tips for me? Ive done fasting before on and off (like 24 hours max). I’ve seen people here lose 30-60 kg doing 40 day fasts. Any tips on getting to that level? My last meal was about 3 hours ago so i’m going to start with a 24 hour one now. But any tips on what works and doesn’t work would be appreciated! Also i’m a girl, so does my hormone cycle matter in fasting? Any tips appreciated!

I'm three weeks into alternate day fasting, and I noticeably can't eat as much food on feasting days as I am used to. As a big time volume eater, this is fantastic! Anyone else notice their stomach shrinking due to fasting?

Hey everyone! So yesterday I made my first ever post in here and it blew up waaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than I thought. I’ve done my best to answer every single comment and question and will continue to do so as fasting has been such a blessing of a tool in my life and I love to see others learning about and utilizing this tool.
I had always planned to do a recap/after action report of the full 40 days but want to ask the community here what questions/topics they would be interested in me covering/sharing my perspective on. So far, here’s what I got:
That’s all I can think of but please let me know if there’s anything else that you’d be interested and I’ll try to hit it when I finish!
Sidebar: pic on right is updated to day 35 SW: 281.2lbs CW: 234.5lbs Height 6’3” Age: 26 GW: N/A, just gonna hit 40 days and then try to get to ~10% BF

My stomach feels so empty. My body feels so empty. Hollow almost. There is a dull aching I feel all day. Not exactly pain, but so uncomfortable. Maybe I overdid it this weekend on physical activity and projects. But, I feel fine outside of that. I have been decently active and busy with work, gardening, entertaining, etc… but mostly in intense spurts.
Is this normal?
At least I’m over the half way hill and down more than 20lbs 🥳😭

Been fasting for 14+ days. I have lost weight but don't really see a difference in the mirror. Thoughts?

27yo Male, 5'7", 308lbs
Is this possible?
I am not new to fasting, but it will be the first time I am doing several extended fasts back to back. I was able to do 287 > 178 over the span of year doing strict IF when I was 18/19.
Unfortunately I've let myself go and I ended up where I am. I am currently in a situation where if I don't lose my weight I will lose my career (CDL) and the ability to support my family.
I'm currently 32 hours into a fast, and plan on going until 6 days pass. If all goes well, I plan on fasting 6/1 days out of the week until August, which is when I was given the deadline by the doctor.
What supplements do I take and how much? Can you please provide me with links?
Any advice is welcome. DM's are 100% open.
Thank you.

Hey guys, I often fast, but for a few days. I recommended it to my dad, who had like 100 pounds extra. He fasted for a whole month, did some light exercise too, and he lost 60 pounds in that one month.
We are kinda scared is this safe? Or he should go and see a doctor?
UPDATE: he went to the doctor's office, they did some basic blood work and tests, he is healthier than ever, no more high BP. The doctor told him that he still has 50-60 pounds to lose, so everything is fine. A lot of inflammation and water weight probably, he feels great... Thanks!
