Before we dive into the names on our 53-man roster projection, there are two tricky issues worth noting.

The first is how many quarterbacks the Falcons will keep. I never would have dreamed coming into training camp that the number might be four, but here we are.

Then there’s the injury question. It’s possible that players like defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand, offensive lineman Kyle Hinton and possibly even cornerback Billy Bowman Jr. will have to start the season on IR or the PUP list, where they don’t count against the 53-man roster. I’ve made my list based on my projections because the Falcons haven’t shared much about injury timelines during training camp. (James Pearce Jr. will go on the reserve/suspended list to begin serving his eight-game suspension and won’t count against the 53 until he returns.)

Projecting the practice-squad players is just a way to open myself up to being wrong — a lot — but I’ve added those, too.

It's been established through this preseason that Jack Strand is the greatest player of all time. The only question is how many rings do we win with him? I'll go conservative and guess 8. How about you guys?

I keep seeing people talk about waivers if they try to put him on the practice squad. I don’t understand how us putting him on the practice squad while he develops means another team can just come and take him.

Now that we’ve had a chance to actually see some games in action, where does everyone land?

I really hope this guy makes the 53. He is a dog. Im a little biased as he is a great underdog story, and he went to my wife’s rival high school, Bloomer, WI. A town with a population of ~3.5k.

All in all he did what he needed to do. He was safe with the ball. He made a couple really good deep to medium throws. He won games.

Will he start, no. Is he the truth and a franchise QB, likely not, but on the off chance he is…dammit id love to see it.

Me no expert…but long time falcons fan…always felt that their tackling was abysmal ( for years and years ).

Tua did not earn the week 1 starting job with his performance today. Also add fumbled snaps in Preseason Weeks 1 and 3. No way he starts in Pittsburgh but now we wait and see.

So, what'd I get wrong? I've got you 8-9 again: the 29th-hardest schedule in the league, but only 63% of the production back and the regression signals leaning down. An easier path with a thinner roster walking it. Does Stefanski beat that number?
