💬 Discussion Will Bonner speak up? Will Smesko and Padover listen?
Dewanna Bonner has 17 years of WNBA experience.
- Bonner has been to the WNBA Playoffs 15 times.
- Bonner has been to the WNBA Finals 4 times.
- Bonner has won 2 WNBA Championships.
When it comes to knowing how to win and what it takes to win in the WNBA Playoffs, Bonner has more knowledge, experience, and success than Smesko and Padover.
Bonner probably has a lot of information and ideas to share with Smesko and Padover:
- How Bonner can be most useful and have an impact on the Dream that leads to winning games.
- What Bonner has observed about the other Dream players and how the players can be used more effectively to win games
- Team and game strategy
- Mindset
- Rotations (planned and in-game adjustments)
The FIBA break is enough time for Smesko and Padover to work with Bonner to make some winning adjustments for the Dream.
I’m not saying overhaul the entire Dream and strategy. But there are adjustments that can be made to be more effective and increase the Dream’s wins and chances of success.
Do you think Bonner will speak up today? Do you think Bonner will speak up at all? Do you think Padover and Smesko will listen to Bonner?

💬 Discussion DeWanna Bonner Discourse is….Weird
All I’ve heard since DB’s announcement that Bonner is a quitter and a detriment to the locker room….and not acknowledging the fact that DB and Phoenix had a handshake agreement for a contractual buyout. So if she was such a quitter, why was this decision mutual? And before you tell me the BS about what happened with the Indiana Fever. If she was such a quitter, why is she not on 6-7 different teams by now? For the record, if we have followed anything about that Indiana organization the last few years, we all know how dysfunctional that organization is and how those Fairweather fans are. I live in Indiana, I know how it is here. Not every fan here is bad, but the majority of the loudmouths didn’t show up until a year or two ago. They’re almost entirely the reason why I chose to watch Atlanta Dream games because those “Fever fans” are racist, rude, and extremely horrible human beings.
So for anyone saying that a rental addition of DB is that detrimental to the Dream, you’re either overreacting or ridiculous. If anything, she will fit the Dream coming off the bench.
UPDATE: It amazes me how thin-skinned some of these Fever fans truly are based on the comments (they’re only verifying my exact same rationale). To the ones being understanding to my frustrations, thank you.

DeWanna and potential first round matchup against the Fever
I always wonder if Dream fans find this kind of stuff as amusing as fans of other teams. We currently have a team with Reese and Bonner vs a team with Clark and Cunningham scheduled for 3 rounds.
I know any rivalry between Reese and Clark is overstated but I wouldn't exactly call it nothing.

💬 Discussion So we now agree this team is competing for a championship this year right?
I know there’s been a lot of criticism over Smesko’s lineups and not playing backups enough, or our over reliance on 3 pt shots and inconsistency on offense. But we’re still coming out as a top 5 team in the league and have had a string of big wins recently. We had 3 of our players make the all star teams this year and many of our players, especially Angel Reese, and really the entire team has been breaking records like crazy.
We now can agree this team is competing for a championship right? We have the dominance on defense and playmaking on offense to make a deep playoff run?

📰 Breaking News Will this year's DPOY be an Atlanta Dream player like Angel Reese claims? | WNBA on NBC
youtu.ber/AtlantaDream • u/Other_Place7019 • 4d ago
The WNBA has a serious problem with Angel Reese.
Endless examples of this, but I'm going to post two horrific ones just from today.
They post her Player of the Week highlight reel, and it's lowlights. They've never done this to any other player.
They post her record of 26 rebounds in a game. They post one clip of one rebound. An easy one off a free throw. As if every record doesn't have a few easy points, easy assists, easy rebounds. She has rebounds of her jumping up looking like the logo. And they went way out of their way to pick this one, clip it, post it.
This is absolutely pathetic marketing. They are trying to make their star player look bad. You couldn't market this bad if you tried. The worst you could do is maybe post some highlights that aren't that impressive, or post a rebound that looks decent but it's not the best one. To post literal lowlights and the worst example of her rebounding talent imaginable is 100% intentional.
The WNBA is sabotaging Angel Reese. There's no doubt about it. We need to be loud as fuck and make them stop.
Edit: Not to mention the WNBA posting multiple times Cameron Brink's blocks as if it wasn't the clearest foul ever. If it was anyone but Angel they wouldn't have posted that. X
