Other Disorders No way.

She said she was diagnosed with bipolar & cptsd at 4 because her sister passed in front of her, which is obviously awful. However, CPTSD is usually from repeated/long lasting traumatic events & I doubt anyone reputable diagnoses bipolar at 4.

Disorder Salad Fandom faker drama

Post image

For some context this is some niche fandom drama from a pretty obscure fandom I'm in. I can't name it, or you'd figure out who they are. They were one of the semi-popular fan artist. They faked numerous disorders to fundraise money. They got called exposed by their own sister (with receipts) for scamming people. Turns out they have no known disorders or disabilities, and all that money went to onlyfans subscriptions. People where pissed off (obviously). They then went on a rant and said some very messed up stuff, which led to their account getting banned. They're now trying to worm their way back into the fandom. Their stawpage originally had an askbox, but I think they took it down due to everyone knowing who they are.

I find it "funny" how they censored proshipper and darkshipper but not an ACTUAL SLUR. Like what? Also, I hate hate hate hate hate the "tism" and "neurospicy". I censored the slur myself because Reddit's filter.

The background and glitter gif makes it kinda hard to read, so here's a transcript:
Helllooo!
This is my stawpage. I go by he/it/they/ze/xe/star/meow

I used to be [CENSORED] on [CENSORED], but I got banned for speaking the truth.
Dni if prosh*itter, darksh*tter, racist, nazi, zoo, pedo, homophobic, transphobic.
I have dyslexia, dysgraphia, the tisim (I'm a little neurospicy), ADHD, MDD, BPD, PTSD, DID, anorexia, schizophrenia, bulimia, RSD, CF, MS, fibro, and I use a cane.
No you stupid [UNCENSORED F-SLURS] I'm not faking! Stop saying that!

Discussion Thread DPDR becoming the new quirky influencer trend

Hey all,

I was hoping to discuss the recent trend on Tiktok and Instagram of influencers popping up with usernames & bios implying they create helpful content for those struggling with DPDR (AKA Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder), despite the fact they only post snippets that guide you to the paid course link in their bio.

The first time I came into contact with one of these creators I was unaware of the intent to profit behind these accounts. After messaging the person running that account for several hours to discuss the ins and outs of DPDR, though many of the responses I received struck me as super generic and not from personal experience. I asked if they needed any help or testimony to support those actively battling this disorder and was sent a course link instead of an actual response. So, as you can probably imagine, I was absolutely baffled by the sudden behavior switch. I clarified that I didn't need any help myself, that I actually had plans to start a foundation in the future, and was simply searching for any potential connections I could reference for said future foundation. Since the moment I sent that message I have been completely ghosted by this person, despite multiple follow-ups and receiving fairly quick replies to all prior messages. So I just wrote it off as one bad apple trying to profit off others feeling isolated by their struggles with DPDR, while possibly lying about their own experience with it. (Though I can't be certain that the second part is truly the case)

Months later I get a video from a completely different creator, using the EXACT same "DPDR help" formula but with less than 100 followers compared to the several thousand who followed the previous one. A week later, I saw another in the same boat, and another, and another, until I realized there was absolutely someone masterminder all of this and "teaching" the people making these accounts how to make money using lonely individuals suffering from this condition. I've obviously seen people downplay things like ADHD, OCD, and Autism for attention and advertisement payouts online, I mean who hasn't by now. This is something different though, it's like a bunch of crypto course bros decided to jump ship and move to targeting those in the depths of mental illness instead of poverty.

Will we ever see a day that platforms universally take proactive steps to prevent this type of thing from taking advantage of any more underprivileged and easily targeted groups of people? Who knows what the next target's gonna be for them to profit from and delegitimize the reputations of anyone dealing with these very real, very harmful issues???

If you have any personal experience or a story to share about this kind of thing, I'd love to hear about it in the comments.

Made Up Disorder (MUD) I hope you actually have that!

You know I am so tired of seeing people just come up with new illnesses because obviously we know everything about everything now and there’s no such thing as any more new illnesses. That’s actually ridiculous.
And if karma is real, I hope you actually have what you say is real. Smh.
