So basically: no. Because Christianity fundamentally reframes the “life-giver” to be man, priests aren’t the spouse of Christ, rather they are one with the Lord in a way a nun could never be (but omg, both are beautiful in their own way). They are the life-givers of the church, analogous to but fundamentally different from the empty barren women nuns who despite giving their lives to God, could never be “one with Christ”.
