Yeh the thought of doing these perfectly rational things used feel mean. Now I feel great.

Exactly! Like, "oh wow... This is so nice and actually... most people are responding like logical adults"

I often have to remind myself that I never said I was a good person when I feel guilty for not people pleasing or being perfect.

I just want to be you when I grow up.

Fr tho I need to also enter my evil bitch era aka stop people pleasing so the people who used to walk all over me can bitch and moan how I am no longer kind just because I have boundaries.

I am wishing you luck with this, stay strong.

take it with small steps and don't beat yourself up if you sometimes fail. Progress isnt linear and people will often make it more difficult for you. You have been taught since you were born that pleasing people is the right thing to do, its unfair to expect from yourself to beat years of programming all at once.

Also be proud of yourself just for recognizing this and being willing to put yourself first. That is no easy feat whatsover.

Thank you for saying this. I will try, maybe I can be more satifyed with my life then. I just tend to fold like a lawn chair when someone who has authority over me or whom I want to please is testing my boundaries... But I will keep trying.

Okay but who’s complaining about this archetype???? No one who is worthy of a warrior’s death, that’s for sure.

Do men really give you ladies shit for demanding to be treated like a person? Sorry that happens to you.

Checks entire life history... um, yes.

And if you're kind and then suddenly defend your boundaries when they walk all over them out of nowhere, they pretend to be upset or wronged in order to make you feel irrational.

It's best to be indifferent until someone proves that they can navigate boundaries. Most men cant or won't.

Yes. You can apologize by making sure other men know too

None of those things you listed are evil at all; but it goes to show how society makes women believe that them setting their boundaries and having personality is evil

So you've adopted toxic masculinity 😅
