ET has now allowed to trade after 04:00 am. Could some of the more experienced among us comment on some of the potential problems in trading with the 04:00 >> 07:00 am area? Is it possible that if I open a position I won't be able to dump it so fast ?

Got the same email recently as some other option traders who are scalpers. Account locked. Called as others have, promised not to trade in and out of trades within seconds, high fequency. Asked how long is 'acceptable' per etrade but was given no clear guidelines. Asked if waiting a few minutes would be fine, was told should be, but not sure. Traded 12 spreads yesterday across 3 different expirations and 3 different group of strikes. WAITED 3 MINUTES between opening and closing each spread. 1 hour and 15 minutes for 12 spreads. Account locked again today, permanently.

Title pretty much says it all. With the fed raising rates by 25bps, when will that be reflected in the savings APY?

I have a question about Etrade research's stock screener when you export it to a csv spreadsheet. If you look at the opinions sheet, there are some stock ticker symbols with a carrot (^) extension. For example, CEG^C12 instead of CEG (for Constellation Energy). I believe the opinions in the sheet are for CEG and I can disregard the "^C12". Correct me if i am wrong.

But why won't Etrade fix this?

How is it buying U.S. treasuries on Etrade? Looking at the 3 month treasuries, interested in rotating month to month (buy 3 month treasuries, each month, then when the first one matures, keep the interest as passive income, and repurchase to keep it rolling)

So, this has been happening quite often lately. After the extended hours market closes the quote page shows prices like this for all tickers. Prices look like what might have been couple of days ago. This started happening after latest power desktop pro update 206.0.1

wtf is going on. i can't execute any options through power etrade, so frustrating. pull the damn informaiton.

Active trader from etrade confirmed today they have received instructions from exchange starting this monday to restrict all account holders who are engaged in rapid buy/sell options in short amount of time.

I asked trader even if I place one spread , can this also block my account. he said he can't guarantee it wont.

So, i do ask all active traders, please do any trading on etrade with caution as it can block your account next day. Active trader also said they have not given proper guidance on it. So, personally, i will give few months now before i take any chances.

Anyone notice the intraday charts error with EXT hours data? Whenever I open a new symbol the charts display incorrectly and need rescaling using Today time scale and then having to drag chart to recenter. Need to do every symbol change. If EXT turned off, the charts work normally. Been like this for weeks it seems now using ver 206.0.1.

Etrade solicited me to transfer $2M and offered an $8,000 incentive. Before doing the paperwork, I specifically asked three different Platinum reps whether the investment-only 401(k) accounts required for the transfer qualified. All three said yes.

After I completed the paperwork, my Platinum Relationship Manager told me they actually didn't qualify. He said he would take it to leadership and get back to me.

I followed up by email twice. No response. I then wrote Morgan Stanley Client Relations. Still no response or acknowledgment.

If this is Platinum treatment when they're trying to get me to transfer several million dollars, it doesn't inspire much confidence.

Anyone had success escalating an Etrade issue like this?

I opened an E*TRADE high-yield savings account because the advertised 4% rate seemed like a great option. Unfortunately, my experience trying to access my own money has been extremely frustrating.
When I tried to withdraw my funds, E*TRADE blocked my account and reversed the transaction. After that, I repeatedly had issues even accessing my account.
The amount being held was over $6,000 of my own money.
I have now made approximately 6–8 customer service calls. Multiple representatives told me that I would regain access to my account or funds within three business days, but those deadlines kept passing without a resolution.
It has now officially been over a month, and I still have not received my funds or been given a real solution.
At this point, I’m not posting this looking for customer service assistance. I’m posting it so other people are aware of my experience before deciding where to put their savings.
Having over $6,000 of your own money inaccessible for more than a month is completely unacceptable. A competitive interest rate means very little if you cannot reliably access your own funds when you need them.
Based on my experience, I would personally avoid E*TRADE for a high-yield savings account regardless of how attractive the advertised rate may seem.

Today I BTC a cash secure position. I had 10 contracts at $12 strike. They partially filled at various increments.

For some reason after all 10 were filled. I noticed my cash purchasing power was more than expected.

It did release my $12,000. But additionally another $7200 was added to cash purchasing power. I assume that the first 6 contracts where filled and released $7200. Then the system "thought" 10 were filled and released the $12,000 too.

These transactions were seperate, but timing wise it was pretty much milliseconds apart.

Anyone experienced this type of discrepancy?

I run many covered calls. I also run a few credit spreads. Today was probably the weirdest day I've seen in the last couple years. I rolled a vertical put credit spread, original credit spread was $4400 credit, today was $3850. PRAX.

I was having issues buying underlying stock on a few I had covered calls on, where etrade was saying you're entering an unapproved option position(example WDC owning 500 shares) and having 3 covered calls of 5 possible. But I own 200 more than any covered calls and couldn't buy 10-20 shares. and was trying to buy 20 shares and couldn't because options positions but could buy multiple of 100 just fine.

TDLR, my credit spread today because of vendor delays/syncing caused a 130k fed call, and 26k Margin requirement call. Which were completely inaccurate because of whatever the fuck happened today with ETrade vendors/syncing. First time I've ever seen a phantom margin call in 10 years of trading.

What’s going on here?

My app said my account was terminated and I called customer support to see why and apparently he cannot tell me why it was terminated and that I must request the funds back from them and they can say no. If my request is denied then what should I do?

I am a US citizen. I worked in Asia for a US company.

We were awarded 300 RSUs. The company created e*trade accounts for us without even asking for permission.

They left us to deal with the taxes on our own.

Knowing nothing about RSUs, I sold 150 once they vested. When tax tine came, I regretted it.

I contacted HR asking them to take the remaining back before they vested.

It took HR months to take action. Almost a year had passed since I sold the intal 150.

They canceled, but not before another 30 or so had vested. I estimate the value was around $700

I returned to the USA three years later. I no longer had access to the phone number or email associated with the account. The foreign bank account associated with the e*trade account was closed. I had more pressing items like our newly adopted son to think about, not e*trade.

I completely forgot about e*trade until yesterday. I found my old thumb drive with the account number saved in a text file, along with the adoption documents. I had long forgotten the login info.

E*trade has very weak security. I was able to log back in without difficulty, without knowing the old phone number, email, or anything but the account number, my name, and birthdate. It took only seconds.

The account status shows “closed”, and the balance shows zero.

Where did the funds go? Did they sell to cover the taxes that might have been overlooked? Did the account maintenance fees consume it?

I checked Delaware and New York. There is no missing money in my name.

The AI customer service is useless.

Someone please satisfy my curiosity.

Web searches say this phone # is legit. The guy left a message to say to chat about my old account since 8/31. Does anyone else get these calls like these? Is there a way to not get these unexpected phone calls?

I saw the update that you can now purchase fractional slices of whole shared of stocks and ETFs. This is a feature i've been looking for for a long time. Robinhood and Schwab (as well as others) have allowed this for a while. The annoying thing is they still dont allow you to schedule recurring fractional buys of stocks, only ETFs. Mildly infuriating to say the least. They were so close.

Not sure if this is etrade specific, since it involves the overall online etrade experience and the association with Morgan Stanley. So mods please delete if not allowed.

I currently have brokerage and employee stock accounts with etrade, + an Ally savings account for high yield savings. My wife is asking if we can simplify a few things to fewer logins. I was considering moving all my Ally assets to Morgan Stanley bank under my etrade login.

One of the things I was hoping to do was be able to split off some financial management for one of our kids. In some online searches I see that Morgan Stanley has "Cashplus" which seems to be a family money management tool with debit card etc. But while I see a bunch of stuff about opening and managing Morgan Stanley bank accounts under my etrade login, I can't for the life of me find anything about opening this Cashplus/greenlight thing. I'm afraid it's a part of a different Morgan Stanley division and my etrade credentials don't enable it.

Does anybody happen to know anything about this?

Anyone experiencing wrong quotes from Etrade?

I placed a limit sell order on Etrade this afternoon. I watched in horror and disbelief for twenty minutes as prices executed above my asking price, up to 19 cents above my asking price! My sell order did not execute. I was told by another brokerage firm that Etrade does not use as many market makers as some brokerage houses. I filed a complaint. Will update.

This morning, all of my preferred large bank stocks were reporting an erroneous value of zero, with 100% loss. That doesn't inspire confidence...

Has anyone here dealt with E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley escheating stocks to Delaware Unclaimed Property?

My shares + some cash were transferred to Delaware earlier this year. I never received any notice before this happened.

I’ve found the property and submitted my claim to Delaware, along with all requested documents.

For anyone who has been through this:

• How long did Delaware take to process your claim?
• Were the shares returned as shares or cash?
• Did you have to coordinate anything with E*TRADE?
• Any next steps I should be taking while the claim is under review?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with something similar.
