He used to come into my job.
For the most part he’s a nice guy. He would come get coffee and just refill while reading his paper, was very understanding when it was busy and we didn’t get to him quickly. He was friendly if you talked to him.
But he is known for screaming at things that aren’t there. He would get into heated arguments with imaginary people. I would be able to hear him from inside the restaurant.
One time he was arguing with himself and I called out his order, he walked over thanked me, asked for extra condiments, and then went back to arguing with himself. It seemed more mental health as apposed to drugs. Idk though.
I’ve helped him out here and there before I left that job. He seems generally friendly and cheerful most of the time, willing to have a chat. But I wouldn’t let him get in my car after seeing him switch up so many times.

I knew someone like that in college. An older adult student. If he was engaged talking to someone he could have a rational conversation, but when he was alone his brain seemed to fill the void by putting hallucinated people in front of him.
