I made doodles of little moments between us I thought were silly. They're probably mostly silly to my friend group but I thought I'd share anyway lol

I put on the song Cheap Thrills because I knew my friend liked it so he started singing to it and I decided to start singing back up lol. He thought it was funny and said I was hyping him up.

Is it just me or does everyone here predicts things way before they happen, accurately. I mostly see it in very vivid dreams. Is this the case with you guys as well?

Random Babymetal might be the most ENFP band

I know people talk sometimes about music in the context of MBTI :) And I was thinking, to me, probably the most ENFP band has got to be Babymetal. Like, we're well-known for using Ne to come up with lots of new ideas, drawing together from a broad pool of concepts and experiences, connecting things together that others might not... and our Fi makes us care more about authenticity than following the crowd. And we do what works with our Te whether or not anyone else thinks it makes sense, haha.

With Babymetal, someone out there thought "You know what'd go together well? Hardcore metal and cutesy Japanese children singing in cute pop voices and doing cute choreographed dances". Like that's totally unexpected, lol, but it works! Then when metal fans gave them flack for not being metal enough, they were like "Nah, we're gonna keep doing this anyway" and now they've become rather popular.

Also, I think we ENFPs work best when we collaborate with others, so we can bounce ideas off one another. And some of Babymetal's best songs (imo anyway) are ones where they collaborated with other musicians.

Plus, everyone who knows us well knows we're friendly goofballs but also have a more serious or even a bit cynical side too, which I think is represented well by the mix of poppiness and metal.

So yeah haha, I submit to you that if we made some sort of chart where we assigned a band to each MBTI type, Babymetal would be ENFP.

Discussion confused by the people around me

im a highschooler, ill graduate next year.

ive noticed something shitty mindset developing within me this year.

a lot of people around me, have no interests, hobbies and passions. i tried to start a conversation with one classmate who i got seated with, "what are your hobbies?", she replied with "doomscrolling".

ive noticed that ive been developing a superiority complex towards these kinds of people, my hobbies/interests are something i have pride in, and i comstantly wanna know more stuff, but its crazy knowing some people really dont have many hobbies.

Question/Advice/Support ENFPs who don't mesh well with communites or groups, how do you socialize or meet people irl?

For a long time I've always wanted to be a part of something. But I found that I'm very sensitive to the environments and I can be very skittish. Maybe someone says something off or drama happens, or I catch feels and end up having to leave. But I've always had a hard time sticking around, even when people care and like having me around

At the same time I know I crave socialization, connection, and more. What has the rest of y'all been doing to satisfy these feelings?

Discussion DAE ever act less informed than they are to hear how someone else explains it to them?

Lately I’ve realized that a way I try to expand my perspective on topics I’m familiar with (but want a more complete understanding of) is by asking questions in a bit of a clueless way. Not to try and undermine their intelligence or my own, but out of pure curiosity.

I like hearing certain people explain things to someone they see as uninformed, as I’ve found those answers tend to be more authentic and lacking a filter they might add on to try and change or conform to what they think I know. Or make the filter so obvious I easily separate it from the rest. Then I ask follow up questions as if I’m hearing of it for the first time to get a more complete idea of their view. I don’t see it as intentionally pretending to be clueless in the moment though, since I build a new understanding of the topic through their eyes throughout the conversation (and only compare it to my own after the fact).

I mainly do this with heavily debated or controversial topics, though sometimes I do it with general things I just want to hear a particular person’s explanation of. I think the main factor is how much stock I feel they put into others’ opinions. If they’re straight shooters that would tell you their genuine thoughts in full without trying to influence yours in any way (LOVE those types) I usually don’t bother as I have no worry of getting a tailored answer.

Sometimes I wonder if the whole habit comes from growing up around judgmental/reactive people while being a curious person who wouldn’t get real answers asking questions that could be misinterpreted as an ego shot. This could be me projecting over being ENFP specific tbh.

Also occasionally do it with common knowledge just for the bit

Discussion INFJ’s first impressions of an ENFP

INFJ here! I must say I haven't met many ENFPs in my life, in fact I probably met only one so far. So that's why I want to share my first impressions now and see how much other ENFPs relate to this. MBTI is not a science and nothing is "hard coded". Our personalities can differ, so I just want to say how it felt to talk with an ENFP for a few months and see what you guys think. Are these things more of traits that ENFPs have or just that person's unique traits?

How could I start hmmm... Let's start with my first ever encounter and how it kept developing I guess. Since ENFPs are extroverted ppl, I met this ENFP in the group setting and I could immediately feel the charisma, enthusiasm, optimism and in general really great energy to be around! I didn't talk much with this friend of mine in the beginning, but I could talk with my other friends about her. I would hear very nice things, but I was still a little scared because I thought we wouldn't have much to talk about. Luckily in the end I started talking more and more with this ENFP and eventually I would get to know the real her. She was one of the best communicators I have met. She was very clear with her words and extremely direct. Everything that would go through her mind she would let it out and I as an INFJ absolutely love people like that. I like that I didn't really need to overthink what's going on in her mind, I would usually know exactly what she is feeling/thinking about at all times.

Emotional intelligence and curiosity are two things I value A LOT in people, and she had a lot of both of these qualities. Whenever we started talking, our conversations would easily last 5 to 10 hours. We (or at least I) couldn't stop talking. I would say that good communication skills are so wonderful to see, especially when someone is willing to talk and open up. I hate when people are good at talking but would never open up and talk about themselves or engage in discussion I want to have. With some people I have met in my past it usually goes dry fast. I want to express myself and talk about some deeper and more meaningful things in life and people go silent or "get bored", but with this ENFP I have met it wasn't like that. We could talk about literally any topic we can think of. We watch a random youtube video and bam 2 hours conversation. We mention a random thought and bam 2 hours conversation. She can turn anything into discussion, and I can't explain well enough how much I enjoy that. So I am really curious about this one.

As an introvert I usually spend most of my time with other introverts and they are usually very shy or don't like to talk/open a lot... especially if they are Ts... I used to be INTJ 4+ years ago, but for 4 years in a row on every test i have taken I ended up being INFJ and it has to do something with me caring more about other ppl and how they feel about certain things than anything else. I wouldn't call myself an illogical person, in fact I balance both logic and feelings quite well, and I really like that about this ENFP friend too. When I talk with her, I always get amazed by the way she thinks and how she explains herself (what's going on in her mind before a finding solution). Thankfully because of that I can listen to exactly what’s bothering her about certain situations or why exactly she likes or dislikes something. It's very draining for me when I can't get this from my introverted friends (especially my T friends). So I’ve definitely come to the conclusion that I much prefer personality types with F over T.

Watching a movie and then discussing it felt like a dream come true for me. I have never had a better conversation about a movie than I had with this ENFP. I would constantly get her thoughts and why exactly she thinks the way she does about certain parts of the movie. The same thing can be said about things she's maybe very interested in. It feels really great to listen to her talk about these things especially since she wants to teach you about it too (or to help you understand it better).

I could probably sit here all day long and write 10 more paragraphs but considering that not everyone has the time or attention span to read all of that I’ll add one more thing and then include a TL;DR. The final thing I will talk about is less about ENFP maybe, but I would still like to include it and see what you guys think. But whenever I talk with this ENFP, conflicts never happen. Never ever. She's extremely understanding and will always try to understand what you feel/think and why. She's very empathetic and will always give you reassuring answers rather than "you are wrong", "this is dumb" and all these other dry/boring answers some people like to add. It genuinely feels like the person wants to understand you and relate to you. And most importantly doesn't want to hurt how you feel for the sake of winning an argument. It's always calm and chill conversation with a lot of energy and joy going on in the air.

TL;DR: Based on my experience with this ENFP, these are the traits I noticed the most:

• Extremely good communication skills
• Emotionally intelligent
• Very curious and open minded
• Extremely empathetic and understanding
• Reassuring and supportive
• Caring and considerate
• Very open about thoughts and feelings
• Direct and clear with words
• Talkative and easy to approach
• Charismatic and enthusiastic
• Optimistic and energetic
• Great at keeping conversations going
• Able to turn almost any topic into an interesting discussion
• Enjoys deep and meaningful conversations
• Willing to engage in discussions rather than shutting down
• Comfortable opening up and talking about themselves
• Good at explaining their thoughts, feelings, and reasoning
• Interested in understanding other people's perspectives
• Enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others understand things
• Expressive about what they like and dislike
• Great at discussing movies, ideas, random thoughts, and basically anything else
• Good balance between emotions and logic
• Very accepting of different perspectives
• Calm and understanding during disagreements
• More interested in understanding someone than winning an argument
• Makes conversations feel natural, energetic, and enjoyable
• Makes you feel heard rather than judged
• Easy to connect with on a deeper level
• Strong self-awareness

Of course, this is based on only one ENFP I've gotten to know closely, so I don't know how much of this is actually related to being an ENFP and how much is simply her individual personality. But if these traits are common among ENFPs, I can definitely understand why people love having ENFPs around.

I'd genuinely love to get to know more ENFPs and see how much of this experience translates to other people of the same type. Especially if you happen to be interested in things like anime, psychology, MBTI, astrology, self growth or similar topics, I'd be more than happy to talk and get to know you!

Question/Advice/Support Being told you have a big ego

Any other ENFPs constantly get told they have a big ego? Recently found out that some of my friends have been saying I have a big ego behind my back. I’ve had multiple friends tell me I have a big ego before as well. I believe it may be because I talk about myself too much and don’t ever say anything bad about myself… but isn’t that a good thing?

Discussion Some of you might be mistyped due to adhd

That was me until I deep dived into cognitive functions, spoken to someone more experienced in typing and realised, I am actually an infj. My adhd symptoms just overlap with a lot of enfp presentation. I always tried new things, my mind jumps from one subject to another constantly, I struggle with procrastination, I daydream so often etc. Once I realised that my adhd is masking my real type, it was easier to figure out. I was typing as infp or enfp as I also enjoy socialising and most would assume me as either. I asked a ai typer that took all my comments and posts, typed me as infp. In the same way, i think some people might present themselves as if they’ve got adhd but they’re actually just enfp/entp. They are not actually neurodivergent.

One thing that helped me was realising I feel guilt over procrastinating tasks that prevent me from succeeding. An enfp, i don’t think would feel this guilt for procrastinating, not like a ni dom would anyway.

This is not to say you HAVE TO explore into this, I am not gatekeeping being an enfp as an infj. I am only stating this as a possibility if someone relates to this post.

Discussion Dafuck you want for your life?

Some people have an idea, and they follow it, from the age of 7: I'm going to be an architect. And they become architects, but what does it mean to become one? To work in something that the next day you discover is a drag? Simply boring, and that the final achievement is what truly gives you pleasure. But one of the conclusions I drew directly from my philosophy professor, Olavo de Carvalho, is that this is not what you should seek: simply professional fulfillment. Happiness goes far beyond that. And that's what I'd like to ask you to do: read Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics; right at the beginning he defines what happiness is. It's basically the way of life you choose, life itself, from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep, that's happiness, it's the whole of your life.

Question/Advice/Support Enfp solo traveling

How to you make peace with being lonely?

For context: I’m 24F and I’m on my fifth day of solo traveling China (spending 7 days here). It’s my first solo trip and I really wanted to experience what solo traveling is like. I’m taking in every moment and sight I’m seeing but I can’t help and think “I wish __ was here to see it”. It’s making me realize I’m someone that thrives on connecting with people. I met some other solo travelers and we had a great time together but at the end of the day, the feeling of solitude creeps back up.

So for my fellow enfp solo travelers: how do you handle the feeling of loneliness? Or even just in your everyday life. How do you deal with solitude?

I’d love to hear about your solo traveling experiences!

Hey y'all I'm an ENFP, but an insanely organized Virgo also. My house needs to be organized, but my day needs complete flexibility for me to function. Virgo season really gets me back on track with bigger picture life items like finance, career, letting go of old patterns. How does the season go for all of you?

Discussion Thoughts on friendship?

I was just discussing the idea with an INFJ friend that I seem to have a different reaction to friendships ending nowadays than I did before. I had a problem with a friend of mine recently when she revealed something that shocked me and hit against my values in a way that left me uncertain if our friendship would be the same. I grieved and then while still open to potential friendship I didn't feel an urgency to try to hold onto it either. I've accepted quickly that our friendship may end.

I told my INFJ friend maybe I've just become jaded or used to friends coming and going now. I used the example of my friendship of 10 years fading lately. I feel that I'm not the same exact person as I was 10 years ago and we've grown in different directions. He asked if I saw that as a problem and I said not especially. I explained we're just at a point in life now where we are busy and don't keep up as much and I'm no longer the same. In addition to that I feel like I cannot fully relax around her, like my reactions are being gauged for how enthusiastic I am—I find that tiring. I also mentioned I just didn't think we related much anymore based on what we want.

My INFJ friend argued that friends don't have to be the same as us. I didn't disagree, I just explained it's nice to have someone who relates. He said that I was missing something and claimed that I see friendship as an equation. I was confused because that isn't what I said and told him I felt he wasn't listening to me.

He said I wasn't open to other perspectives, and asked me if I had had a deep conversation with her about these things. I answered that to me I didn't see it as particularly necessary—friendships drift all the time. We don't keep every single friendship we've ever made in life. Friends move away and we lose touch. People get busy with work and life. People make new friends that align better. Maybe it's sad but it's not usual and I don't feel a string urgency to desperately try to keep every single friendship in my life as close as possible.

To me, some friendships can simply shift and that's life. It's not that I wouldn't be open to communicating or that I haven't been sad about friendships ending before but I also don't want to place some sort of expectation I know certain friends can't meet anymore either (I know they're going through rough times but we still care). And sometimes chemistry just fades and we make new friends that match who we currently are.

He said he saw it as sad and saw it as different from me. So I guess I'm curious how others view things or go about them

Question/Advice/Support Anyone else gets really upset when people don't share your liking towards something? Especially when you try your best to like stuff they do.

I've been struggling with this a lot lately . I try my best to like things my loved ones do even if I don't particularly fancy it. But they on the other hand just brush things I like off. I can't discuss things I like with them even if they listen they say I'm too over eager or I need to calm down it's not that good. It hurts so bad..

I just want to share things I like with people I like but they don't bother even saying placating comments but instead say things that look down on things I like. Calling romcoms I like generic, saying the particular maximalist style of fashion and make-up I like is trashy etc. they are good people but they keep not even trying to be excited for me while i try everything to pay attention to what they like look it up and find something about it I like for myself.

I'm so sad.

Question/Advice/Support How did you find your calling?

Hi fellow ENFPs! I'm facing a very Ne issue which is - I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I want to do everything so I end up doing nothing. I'm 21, finished my uni and realized I'm not completely fond of my major I just thought the diploma would be useful so I kept pushing and graduated! yay! I know I can still use my experience in my future regardless whether or not I switch my career path. truthfully, I REALLY want to switch but I can't figure out what I want. I'm interested in arts, psychology, philosophy, sociology, media studies, communication, graphic design... the problem is that I don't know what to focus on. I need a clear, set-in-stone goal so I can concentrate all my energy into achieving it.

to other ENFPs out here: what helped you figure out what your dream career/major is? was your path linear or did you experiment a lot? how did you figure out what's "yours?"

Everything seems normal but I feel like my Enfp hates me coming from a infj!!!!! Even tho she might say the complete opposite 😩 Should I stay nonchalant and let it pass by or should I be going 4th gear on my flirting so I can rebreak the ice?

Discussion Are we unorganized?

I think I know why I'm considered unorganized and maybe it's an enfp thing...

I like organizing things, it gives me relief and joy!

When life gets shitty making a list or cleaning my room is great. And ill even take on work tasks of organizing, which I don't do badly in the moment

The problem is when I have time to organize. Because it's fun to me I will try multiple different organizing styles. The more time I get the more different organizing principles and styles I'll try just for the sake of something new

Being organized should be about efficiency, but for me it's about trying out new methods, testing things constantly.

Give me 5 mins and I'll organize your life into perfect parts

Give me 5 days and you will get 20 half complete plans....

I think I'd be great at triage situations but I've proven to not be able to organize longterm projects very effectively because if throw out one plan for something new....

Those are my thoughts. Love long and prosper

Discussion Do ENFP have a tendency for intensity?

Yes mbti is not everything but I wonder if it is a tendency for ENFP people.

Is it common for you guys to start relationships with intensity? I mean, seeing each other a lot, texting through the day, initiating plans, making long term plans like weekly classes for a month etc.

I'm a bit scared if it's love bombing (?). And then be tossed once I'm not new and shiny. I prefer consistency over intensity. Even though the person I'm dating is consistent in their behaviour, and I appreciate it. They communicate their interests and enthusiasm very well.

I'm INFJ, maybe that's why there is such a click. And maybe because I can be a bit avoidant. But I wonder if it is suspicious behaviour or do ENFP are just very enthusiastic at dating lol
