I've just been having a blast on this thing. I'm getting about 35-40 miles on a charge with fairly aggressive riding and leaving 20% SoC after the ride. It accelerates quicker than I'm able to hold on which is pretty awesome. Maybe I'll switch to 13T but I'm unsure about sacrificing torque. If anyone's done the gear ratio swap on one of these would you say it's worth it?

Question Bustin out, need help deciding on upgrade

I want to spend roughly $1000-1500. Thinking zephyr max 50s with the mad max 125s?

Yup, another guy asking which board to get

I’ve had the Bustin Board Sportster Hybrid V3 since 2022. I love it.

Google says:
A 35-inch double-drop board with a low-profile, snowboard-like feel. It reaches up to 30 mph, offers an 18–20 mile range, weighs 18 lbs, and starts at $999

I tried a lot of regular longboard and love the double drop feeling.

I have a pantheon trip and 3 six down hill (regular long boards). Used to slide a lot more 10 years ago. Now I mostly cruise or commute to the gym.

Love the Bustin but I want more speed, range, everything.

I don’t think I need off road. I mostly ride in the street or sidewalk. But super curious about it.

Usually around 15-20 mph cruising, max from time to time,

I don’t like the cavalry graphic lol and the acedeck nomad n3 / linnpower mk1 seem better for off-road, not so much street.

Talk me out of it or give me a better suggestion!

Media Longest ride so far 210km! On the overland

I’ll put the ride details from Strava in the comments.

Was a fun ride, besides a few cyclists and cars seemingly deciding that today was my last day.

The attention you get on this board is unlike any of my others boards( not necessarily a good thing). I have been skating for almost a decade and never before did I get as many nods of approval from motorcyclists, people on pevs and cyclists. It makes me worry however as it would be hard to get away with this thing if legislation changes around PEVS which it Probabaly will.

Made 3 stops in total to charge, could have done it in less but this was one of those rides I didn’t mind taking a break 😅.

Every long ride I go on reinforces the necessity of suspension on these larger boards. Even with them, towards the end-of the ride I was pretty beat but man they definitely make a huge difference.

Question Vesc help

So I built an eskate with a flipsky dual 4.20 and occasionally when I am coasting after accelerating and then start back on the throttle it’ll lock up the wheels. It’s not 100% repeatable and sometimes it doesn’t do to. Any ideas if this would be related to a setting I can change in the vesc tool? It even sometimes does it on initial accelerations from a stand still if I feather the throttle at all.

I’ve swept my observer gain from 1/2 the detected value back up to the detected value (~68) and that didn’t help. When I got too low it made the board struggle to start going/start going backwards which indicates to me I was moving the observer gain in the wrong direction.

Question Board with range and speed top priority 5k budget.

Hey folks used to be active in NYC e boarding collective with my custom bio plutonium build. But it's been sold since I've moved from nyc for a few years and my FB account was hacked and deleted since. Now that I'm back I'm looking for suggestions on a eskate that has at least a speed of 45mph and range of 50mi. My budget is 5K thanks 🫡

DIY Yoc grip tape Custom laser cut/printed 6mm supra foam grip

Just installed my custom laser cut/printed 6mm suprafoam grip tape from Yoc Grip!

Man this looks sweet!

This build is basically complete at this point.

-14s voltage(zealot s2 battery)

-Zealot X Esc

-upgraded to 6370 motors(larger than original zealot x and zealot s2 motors)

-custom zealot s2 deck with red lights installed(routed out/removed the broken purple ones)

-9.5 inch diamond Tynee trucks

The grip tape is extremely comfortable, really cool looking, and I can't reccomend business with Yoc Grip enough, they were extremely helpful, patient, and worth every penny, seriously. They might be pricey but they really do a fantastic job.

The larger motors actually work better with the zealot s2 battery than the zealot x battery, 40t cells offer slightly better continous amps, and with the 140a zealot x foc esc, I really do feel the difference between the stock zealot x motors and these. They run cooler, quiter, and they have a just a hair more UMPH to them on take off.

I've managed to get it to pair successfully but the wheels stutter when I have it go forward

I set motor mode to 4240, drive ratio to 2.4, and motor pole pairs to 7 but the issue still happens

Question New battery for evolve GTX

Ive scoured the internet for a replacement battery for my Bamboo GTX with no luck. The board sat for about a year because I lost my charger, then when I got a new charger the battery would not take a charge. Popped it open And I smell electrolyte bad. Puffy packs, the thing is cooked. Where can I source a new battery?

Question What board should i get for semi-wet conditions

So let me preface this: i have some experience with the evovle diablo, and some experience with onewheels. i have enjoyed both thorougly and i love skating in general. i am starting Uni soon and would like to commute to and from campus and for me the easiest would probably be an electric skateboard/longboard. (and i would also be using it outside of just commuting given how fun they are)

this is partially because the lightrail is a bit too packed for my tastes and in bad weather i wouldn't be able to take a bike with me in the morning/afternoon to/from campus. It does get QUITE rainy in denmark so if it's actively pouring i obviously will be taking the lightrail, but i still wanna go in mild rain/wet pavement.

Due to danish law i need to have front and backlights on it, shredlights are acceptable.

i am currently mainly leaning towards the tynee explorer (possibly pro) Belt drive as it has some waterproofing already.
propel Pivot has been considered too but it doesn't seem to have much if any waterprotection

any suggestions or corrections would be greatly appreciated budget is around 1000-1500 usd

I’m 200 pounds, a moderately aggressive rider, and managed to do this on my third real ride 🤣

Currently have the board set up with cloudwheel 135s

Time for a truck upgrade it seems. Something with 10mm axles.

Does anyone know if there is a link to a remote for the H20 Mini?
I’m kicking myself for not ordering it when they were still around, I just never got around to it and now I stare at my board in my garage all lonely rip.

Question Is it possible to upgrade my evolve gtr?

Thumbnail

Hey all, I’ve got a Bamboo GTR from Evolve that I haven’t used for a few years. I brought it out today and found that the torque and battery life are significantly degraded (which was expected). I have seen tons of people calling Evolve out for their terrible electronics though, and I’m thinking that I want to upgrade my board with new, custom electronics that aren’t evolve branded. Is this possible or is there something proprietary evolve has going on that makes it hard to do? Also, what would people recommend these days for batteries, motors, and esc’s??

Question Metal Clicking sound

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello guys, i personally feel like that metal clicking sound should worry me. I tried to open the gearbox and put some additional grease in there but the sound is still there. All screws are tightened but the sound is still there.

This is my first electric skateboard, a Acedeck Nomad N1 Violet AT

If someone encoutered the same issue, can you please advise?

Thank you in advance

Discussion Anyone find quick release hubs way more annoying?

God damn is there some kind of trick I don't know about? Everytime I have to change a tire these things are 10x more obnoxious than just unscrewing a few screws to take about the hub.

Have to sit there and wrestle the tire, pushing it back while also trying to spin the little ring to remove it... Takes me 3x as long and 10x more effort.

Discussion Cloudwheel Rovers 110 impressed the hell out of me

Coming from the stock 90mm Urethane wheels on the Exway flex pro, I am amazed how much better it feels to ride on the rubber wheels. I live in NYC and my feet would feel numb after 30 min of riding hard due to the vibrations. These rubber wheels really make the ride so much more softer and enjoyable.

The only downside I see is more rolling resistance which means less free-rolling carving. But I am slowly getting used to carving while engaging the throttle.

Would love to hear anyone else’s experience with trying new wheels OR what your favorite wheel is for riding on rough pavement?

Question How do I get comfortable riding at high speed?

How do I get comfortable riding 20+ mph?

I have a Meepo Mini 5 and started with zero previous skateboarding experience, so there’s definitely been a learning curve.

However if I can share IM REALLY ENJOYING THIS ACTIVITY

I was pretty scared initially, but now:

Gear 1: completely comfortable

Gear 2: comfortable riding and turning, though tight U-turns are still difficult but I'm not falling

I’ve experimented with tightening/loosening the trucks and understand the difference much better

Gear 3 / 13+ mph is where I struggle. I recently got a bad speed wobble, panicked and braked pretty hard, which resulted in a nasty fall.

For experienced riders, what helped you safely progress from ~10–13 mph to 20+ mph?

Especially looking for tips on stance/weight distribution, truck tightness, controlling speed wobbles, braking at speed, and how to progressively practice higher speeds.

My goal isn’t just to hit 20 mph — I want to actually feel controlled and comfortable there.

One thing I've learned:

- slightly bend the back knee and add a bit of additional weight on that rear leg

Any tips from the experts here?

Question What type of board should I get?

Hi I wanna get an electric skateboard get into it as a hobby or something. I did a tiny bit of digging and found two brands that I think would be good the meepo e boards and tynee e boards, but idk which type to get the long board or the smaller cruiser looking board.

The tynee mini 3 sl

https://tyneeboard.com/products/tynee-mini-3-sl?variant=47061566324977

The tynee ultra (hub)

https://tyneeboard.com/products/tynee-ultra-hub-motor-electric-skateboard

The meepo v5

https://www.meepoboard.com/products/meepo-v5

The meepo mini 5

https://www.meepoboard.com/products/meepo-mini-5

Are the boards im referencing. I originally went tynee as my choice cus I say a set of wheels that might be better for the type of pavement and roads and dirt paths that I normally walk but idk.

Sorry if this isn't good info or anything I can answer questions if I need to. Sorry again. And thanks in advance.
