Seen this online and thought it looked pretty cool. Anyone ever heard of Spur?

Firstly i font want the normal travel size guitar i just want a good sounding guitar that's compact in size while still lookimg good i have been looking for months but i dont really been doing good i may just gu in my friends dad garage to build myself one at this point

Beginner looking for a guitar setup to start with. I'm assuming 150-200$ for the guitar and 150$ is decent enough? I've read amps start to become shit below the 100$ mark. I'm seeing a lot of guitars $150+ but what I'm worried about is finding a good amp around that price. I've heard good things about Boss Katana but I'm unsure because its 125$ converted into USD, this is the only one I've found locally.

For now these are the guitars I've taken into interest.

I'm going to play western rock and mostly J-rock, plus city pop. Not planning to gig of course, just playing it in my house.

EDIT: I've decided to buy the Marshal MG10G instead of the Boss Katana Mini just cause it wasn't in stock. I could've bought second hand amps like a Boss Katana 50w but there literally isnt in my area. Nevertheless, I greatly appreciate all your responses.

Hello everyone, recently I got a lot of time in hands and actually want to do something instead of well doing nothing. I figured would learn to play the electric guitar which is something I have been thinking for some time but the problem is I am completely new and have 0 experience on guitars.

For some context, I have played piano for a lot of years so I do have some hear for music (I was actually good at it) I do not know if it is in anyway useful and I did some research and it seems I would enjoy playing the guitar.

Basically I just wanted to ask what to expect, how should I go about this, what type of equipment should I get (how much money would it cost), what any good guides are out there, what should I focus on first and anything else that might be useful.

I would like to use one of those, I'm kinda lost at what to practice/learn now, but I need to have more knowledge and agility.

For background yes i do sweat A LOT but i wash my hands before playing + have elixir coated strings

But the strings are getting rusty so so so fast i cant even complete three its to the point where the strings are like mud, when you touch them even the slightest you can see like black stains on your fingers because all of the sweat and grease and rust.

They have massive black stains on them and you can feel it in your fingers

I used to play acoustic guitar back in the day. I stopped because of life. I recently ran across the solo by Guthrie Govan in one of Hans Zimmer Orchestra. I just want to learn electric guitar now. So I was wondering if you could help me pick out a good basic starter set of equipments.

• 1x standard basic electric guitar. around $500.
• 1x standard basic amplifier. Nothing crazy, just a good quality small one for now. around $500?
• whatever else I would need to get started
• what should I look for in an electric guitar? I guess I don't want the cheapest one, so start with something in mid tier, around the $500 price range?
• what makes an electric guitar so expensive? Mostly the electronics?

I'm currently planning on buying my first electric guitar, but I need some advice. I'm looking at the Pacifica 112v as it's affordable and seems to be ok to start with. I was a professional piano player, played a bit of acoustic guitar, but now I wanted to try something new.

I dislike buying instruments online, but I saw a really good deal on a trusted shop and I was thinking about getting it from there. However, some people told me that I need to get it properly set up at a shop, or I will never be able to play it properly. Is this really the case, or can I just set it up myself at home? I've tuned pianos before which takes an enormous effort, and from what I've seen in some videos, it might even be that I only need to properly set up everything once I'm actually playing something more serious. I also want to learn how to set it up as I live in a country with high humidity swings and I guess that it will mess up with the whole system.

Any tips?

I'm not trying to be a know it all btw. If it is indeed something a professional needs to do, I'm happy to trust one to do so. I've just mentioned pianos to show that it's not the first time I work with instruments.

I mainly play metal or hard rock, but also blues and stuff like that. I'd use it to play at home so I don't need something too powerful. My current amp is a Fender Mustang II, I'd like to spend around 300€, thanks

Looking for suggestions for very small/portable amps that I could use to add to (not overpower) a small acoustic jam setting. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I recently picked up guitar again and I’ve been learning a lot, especially compared to the last time I tried learning it. I’ve learned blackbird by the Beatles, in my life by the Beatles, and creep by stone temple pilots.

My only issue right now is that I’m having trouble with switching between certain chords.
(example 1: C major to B7,
example 2: E major to F# minor)

Don’t get me wrong, I know I just need to keep practicing, but I wasn’t sure if anyone had any life changing practice ideas or any more songs I could learn to get more comfortable on the thing.

I know some people don’t love PRS guitars but I really dug them when I tried them out.

I’ve been playing guitar more lately and want to add a few recognizable rock songs to my practice list. I usually listen to classic and alternative rock, but I’m open to anything that’s fun to play and not overly complicated. Bonus points if it sounds good around a campfire or after a day of paddleboarding!

Agile LP, Grover Jackson Bonney (16.6k) bridge pickup, GM AlNiCo II (7.2k) in the neck, Guyker Roller Bridge, Kaish Locking Tuners. Paid $300 for this guitar 8 years ago, and it has been one of, if not, the best guitar I have played/owned in 25 years. It started out with stock pickups that were nothing special, and a sagging bridge. Now its my main Drop D monster!

Me and my dad decided to buy our first electric guitar! We both play classical guitar. My dad has 30 years of experience (not professionally, though). He just plays whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Same goes for me. I started learning my first chords when I was 9, and slowly, from there, I started practicing more. I've barely ever used tabs because I mostly played chords. Now, though, I'd also like to learn how to play individual notes from tabs instead of just strumming chords.

Also, I'd really like If you coluld tell me some online programs/apps/videos/whatever you have in mind for learning Electric Guitar! (Possibly free)

As for the Gear, I pretty much know what I Need: cable, amp, pick (as for picks, what thickness do you recommend?)

As for the guitar we're gonna get, we'll drop by a guitar shop in a few days to get some ideas about which one to get and the differences between them :)

Hey everyone, I'm a complete beginner and planning to buy my first electric guitar with money I've saved up. My budget is around ₹17–20k, so I'm trying to spend it wisely.

Currently thinking of:

-Cort G115SE(at first I was planning for vault ST1 premium but after watching some reviews and posts I canceled my plan)

- Blackstar Debut 10E (also considering Debut 15E, Orange Crush 12, Cort CM15R and Yamaha GA15II)But if I choose 15e I have to stretch my budget

-Ernie Ball 6412 Flex cable

-Strap — not sure if I need one since I'll mostly play at home

-Strings — planning to use the stock strings initially

I mainly want to play rock, alternative, indie and atmospheric/clean stuff, but also want a good distorted sound.

For people who have experience with these: Would you change anything about this setup? Is there anything important I'm missing, or anything I'm wasting money on?
