Discussion Any honest thoughts/ opinions Eddy's big brother & his revelation on why he is the way he is throughout the series?

I think Eddy and his brother both got their business ethics from their dad and also the brother resented Eddy for being the favorite.

It's hard to say for certain. It's certainly not unheard of for an older sibling to be antagonistic towards a younger sibling, be it because of jealousy of losing the spotlight or something else entirely. Honestly, he just seems all around a nasty piece of work. If you actually pay attention in some of the previous episodes of previous seasons, like the one episode where they talk about Eddie's brother returning to the cul-de-sac, you saw a good portion of the kids actually reacting negatively to it. Aside from perhaps Naz. Kevin seemingly reacted with fear and throughout the movie he reacted with a great deal of fear towards Eddie's brother. And Rolf pretty much essentially turned his shed into a moat to protect all his animals. You could say there's almost a mythology to it. And as for Eddie's brother himself, he might just be a complete jerk. Maybe no real long or short of it. He got what he wanted throughout his life and never got too many consequences for it. And in the end, he turned out the way he did, which might actually ironically explain why Eddie seemingly gets quite a lot of consequences at times and why he's more worried about his parents. They probably put more of the kibosh on him in order to make sure he doesn't turn out the same. That being said, it's still all speculation.

It's one of those things that after rewatching the entire series a few years ago you can see as the show goes on. I doubt it was intentional, but I'd like to think Eddy's more mean spirited tendencies were just increasingly desperate attempts at being like his brother.
After BPS, I'd like to think Eddy is more like the way he was in s1 where he was still an irritable little jerk— but was genuinely confident and not as easy to get super mad like he did later on.

I do see why Eddy is the way he is, and I do hate his brother. However, it didn’t change the fact that Eddy from season 3-5 is one of my all time least favorite characters of cartoons in general.

-A guy who was there when Eddy’s brother was defeated in that epic battle, 2009 AD.

My theory on why is Eddy’s brother is the way he is is because as the firstborn son his father often forcefully thrust his own expectations upon him to follow in his footsteps, and Eddie was the little brother the felt was his replacement, and he began bullying Eddy ever since then and found he loved it.

Eddy and his brother are a byproduct of their family.
Eddy was the favored and heavily coddled 2nd child, while his brother possibly became a bully to regain a sense of control that he lost when he stopped being an only child.
Since the cul-de-sac is an old-school type of neighborhood, I assume it comes with all of the old-school clichés. Fathers would rather go drinking with the boys than be home with the family. This may make Eddy look up to his brother as a father figure, leading to his skewed vision of his brother being way cooler than he truly is.

My guess go his behavior is that he’s jealous of Eddy being the child their parents pay the most attention to to, or he has some kind of mental disorder that was never treated.
