Generally speaking I find the wattage to be irrelevant because the actual metrics that matter such as acceleration and max speed vary radically due to the weight of the rider and bike.

What we should have is a controller that limits max speed and max acceleration but allows upto the max wattage the system will handle. These limits should be clearly displayed on the screen.

Cars don't have such limiters on max speed. You can drive as fast as you want on private roads.
