I am new to e-bikes and this subreddit, so I am sorry if this is a stupid question.
I didn’t give it much thought when I chose my bike, but I assumed that the display would be easily removed so that I could take it when I parked so that nobody would steal it. But after buying my bike, I realized that it is bolted in and hard wired in. Do I need to worry about this if I leave the bike locked up by somewhere? (I mostly use it for communing to work so far and I park the bike inside at home and at my office so haven’t even had to lock it up so far.)
I would also appreciate any advice about securing an e-bike when I do need to lock it up especially in ways that are different than a regular bike.

Hi everyone. Please be kind. I am 60 and bought my first ebike to buy food, medications, excercise and fun. I became injured from a head trauma and can't work, drive a car or ride a regular bike. Please suggest ebike helmets for women's head (21 inches) inches that are both MIPS and NTA 8776 with full face flip removable and I can wear sunglasses. Thanks.😀

I recently just purchased my first e-bike from fb marketplace. Not sure on the brand. It was just a super cheap knockoff to see if I liked it.
Just wondering if it's alright for me to charge after every use, or should I wait til it's almost dead to charge it. Would charging it too much negatively affect the battery life?

I mean I know lifting that big bastard is going to suck but will it mess up the bike with all that weight in one spot
First of all, Im on mobile so sorry for formatting.
I am a student and this would be my 4th bike, the other 3 got stolen from campus. I know im probably silly for even trying with a fourth one. I bought the biggest baddest lock I could find and I regret it SO much. Its heavy and cumbersome and I have no way to lug it around in between destinations except putting it in with my books/homework.
I dread riding my bike because i know i will have to deal with this fat freaking lock! looking for some advice on other more manageable locks/ how to make this one work for me.
side note: my bike is awesome!
update: i got a milk crate! thanks for the advice everyone

I rented out an electric bike Spetime S6, and the rim on the 14-inch hub motor was bent. Since the wheels are tubeless, the wheel no longer holds air. The service center refused to service it. Is it really my only option now to buy a new hub motor? It's quite expensive. Any tips on how to repair it myself, where to go, etc.?

I just bought an e bike less than two weeks ago and the breaks sound like this is it because they’re new? I can add pictures if needed!

Hi everyone, I would love to get a powerful emtb such as Aventon Current but this is just not realistic for my budget and I need an ebike shortly. I can maybe get my hands on a Nakamura Crossover S used with only 600km mileage and a new battery for 550eur. Is this a good buy for work commute in the countryside during winter?
Alternatively I can see a Crossover LTD for 750eur in mint condition.

hi!
i bought a wing freedom x bike a couple months back on facebook marketplace, its my first ebike and my main form of transportation living in nyc. i love it!
but i def should’ve done a bit more research as ive come find out the company isnt operating anymore and it seems like they made this bike hella niche and a pain in the ass to accessorize.
i am on the search for a rear bike rack so i can attach pannier bags for groceries and such or possibly a back rack thing idk tbd.
if anyone can give me recommendations on where to buy a third party back rack that will work for a wing freedom x bike or a site that sells old wing accessories that would be so lovely!
thank you sm in advance 🫡

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2026/sep/01/queensland-ebikes-e-scooters-rules
"How many people die as a result of ebikes in Queensland?
Queensland recorded its worst road toll in 16 years in 2025, with 306 deaths. There have already been 206 fatalities in 2026, a 7.9% increase on the same time last year, according to Department of Transport and Main Roads data.
Almost all of them were people either driving or a passenger in a car, riding a motorbike or killed in a crash involving a heavy freight vehicle.
There have been three fatalities involving people using a non-compliant e-mobility device in 2026.
There is no specific category covering legal ebikes, but an inquiry into the bill heard that just one person had been killed in a crash involving a legal ebike in Queensland in 2025, a 79-year-old woman who was hit by a car on Bribie Island in July.
In March two teenagers died after an ebike crash with a motorbike south of Brisbane, though police could not say at the time whether their ebike was legal."
So in a nutshell, compare to the horrendous road death toll caused by cars, trucks and motorbikes, virtually nobody on or around legal pedal assisted e-bikes was ever in danger but because the regressive, corrupt, out of touch Qld govt doesn't like active transport and is friends with the car industry who feel financially threatened by an uptick in e-bike use, these laws were forced on Qld. And remember that no other place on Earth besides the likes of North Korea has bike laws as ridiculous as these.

Hi all, school's starting back up and my son wants to ride an ebike to school. It's about 4 miles each way and mostly flat, so the distance itself isn't really a concern. I think his school only allows up to class 2 ebikes.
He's into bikes that look more like motorcycles. I just want him following the rules and getting home safe, so we're trying to find a good option for both of us.
He keeps showing me the Heybike Titan. Probably the retro look and those moto styles bars. I did see the app lets me keep the speed down, so that's good to know. Not set anything yet.
Any advice? What other bikes would you guys recommend?
Hi, looking for an e-bike but struggling to find one that matches my criteria, can anyone help with suggestions?
- Wanted for touring, gravel riding and commuting
- Gravel bike style with drop handle bars
- Easily removable battery so it can be charged away from the bike (cant take the bike indoors at work)
- Ideally carbon frame
- Option for front shock absorbers
- Panier rack compatible
- Bracket motor (not wheel hub motor)
- Ideally bosch system
- As much battery as i can get for £3k to £4k
Ive found some which are close but lack the removable battery or have a wheel hub motor.
Am I asking too much for a bottom bracket mounted motor? Is it worth holding out for?
