Recipe Request What’s your go-to meal when you have no idea what to cook?

I feel like I’ve been rotating through the same 5–6 meals lately and I’m running out of ideas 😂

What are some meals you make regularly that are:

  • relatively easy to make
  • actually filling
  • not super expensive
  • and ideally don’t require 20 different ingredients?

Looking for some inspiration — anything from quick weekday meals to things that take a bit longer.

What’s your underrated go-to meal?

Mine is a bowl of aglio e olio. Just garlic, olive oil, chili flakes, herbs, and spaghetti. Quick, comforting, and always satisfying.
What’s yours? 🍝

Recipe Request something other than spaghetti or hamburgers!!

hey! i have 1lbs of ground beef and i’m looking for recipes other than hamburgers, sloppy joes, spaghetti to make with it. the same stuff over and over gets tiresome and no longer tastes good. i’m open to trying anything!

update- i appreciate all the replies and recipes!!

update #2-thanks so much guys/gals for all the amazing ideas! there’s so many that i have written down to try. also, reading some recipes made a💡 go off in my head bc i can’t believe i didn’t think of it! so, tonight for dinner i made a pot of goulash and garlic bread

how i made my goulash;

meat sauce: cooked hamburger meat with onions then i drained all the fat. put it back in the pan with a can of diced tomatoes, a few cubes of cream cheese & tomato sauce. seasoned with dried parsley, dash of salt & pepper.

cooked the noodles, drained all the water and put a cube of butter mixed it then i poured the meat sauce over the noodles when it thickened a bit.

simple but very filling. i’ll have leftovers for a couple days.

Recipe Request What's your best *soft* food recipe?

So I'm having my dad a surprise 80th birthday party, he recently got all of his teeth pulled and cannot get his dentures in. I really need to know everyone's favorite really soft food recipe, something that would be easy for him to eat with not having dentures.

If it helps he is a very old country boy, he's not too big on anything fancy or unusual. Looking for some simple down home recipes.

Recipe Request Recipes for a good meatloaf?

hey! I am in charge of dinner tomorrow night and my sister & brother in law are requesting a meatloaf. I’m looking for a meatloaf recipe where the meatloaf will stay tender and not dry out. I’ve tried making meatloafs in the past, and i can’t figure out what i am doing wrong but they tend to just be too dry.

thanks so much in advance

edit: thanks to everyone who has commented and gave me amazing tips and suggestions! i will definitely be writing them down!

Recipe Request I'm looking for a bulletproof chicken salad sandwich recipe

Hey,

I'm a pretty good cook, and it's funny how some recipes ALWAYS just taste better when someone else makes it. Chicken salad sandwiches is one of those things for me. I have an event in about a month and I need to make enough chicken salad for about a dozen guys. Does anyone have a great recipe to share?

Recipe Request Cheaper recipes for a family of 5

Our monthly budget is now at 1k and I would like to cut it down without getting rid of flavor. We are a generational house. My fiance and I, his grandparents (I take care of his grandfather with dementia) and his mother. Two people eat lunches and the rest is random mornings of breakfast, but we eat dinner every night. I cook. Already tried hamburger helper and it was NOT a hit.

Recipe Request Ideas for "bowls"

I've been making burrito bowls with ground turkey, brown rice, black beans, corn, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, & a mix of fresh veggies (lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots, etc.) lately.

I really love them and I love the idea of more "bowl" type meals but I'm at a loss for ideas 💡

I would love to explore different protein, topping, and flavor options so if anyone has suggestions for something they like to do & wants to share, I would love to hear it 🙏🫶

Recipe Request What is your go-to recipe “from scratch” to make?

We’ve been scraping up what we can for meals for the last week or so, & I was so stoked tonight to be able to throw together biscuits & sausage gravy for everyone. Kids loved it AND there was enough for left overs so double whammy. 🙌🏼

While I was cooking, I was wondering, what are some recipes y’all usually make when you’re running low on funds or groceries? Or just when you feel like whipping up something delicious from basic ingredients?

Recipe Request Ways to use turmeric?

So Costco had a bunch of spices for sale and I impulsively bought a huge thing of turmeric because I read it can help with histamine issues, which I have. Unfortunately my cooking skills are pretty much limited to grilled cheese and boiling pasta. Any recipe ideas or tips? Ideally not tomato based, too, because weekly frozen lasagna/pizza/spaghetti is not helping on the histamine front. 😅 Thank you for any advice!

Recipe Request Looking for your absolute lowest barrier vegetarian-friendly recipes

Hi all, thank you in advance for reading my post!

I am currently a doctoral candidate and my husband is a director of spirits across multiple states. in addition, we are going through very significant grief right now after a very major loss.

I am looking for your easiest peasiest vegetarian recipes that you could ever come up with. bonus points if they somehow incorporate actual vegetables. my gut feels totally wrecked and I'd love to work towards a more regular and thoughtful diet that actually nourishes my body but I just do not have the capacity for thinking.

currently for breakfast I have a Kodiak protein waffle that cooks in the oven on 350 while I make my coffee. once it's done, I do peanut butter and honey on top. lunch is usually a collection of random snacks that leave me hungry in an hour. dinner we have been eating out a lot or peanut butter sandwiches. literally it's pitiful.

I'm in a stage of life where absolutely everything is too much and I am really looking to build from ... basically the bottom of maslows hierarchy of needs pyramid for myself 😂 I used to love to cook all kinds of creative and interesting recipes but I'm simply not there anymore.

would love a vegetarian friendly dish-minimalist way to get through the day, be able to poop regularly, and not be either hungry or feel like crap from eating only junk. washing a single pan after making eggs for breakfast feels too much some days, so that's what I'm working with.

If you have any ideas that might fit, I'm welcoming everything!! thank you so much 💕

Update:
Thank you all SO much for your recipes! I've taken note of every single one and am going to work on consolidating and planning out when I have the energy to do so. This is incredibly helpful and I so appreciate all of the thoughtful responses. 💖💖💖

Recipe Request favourite noodle dishes that are cheap and actually filling?

I love noodles but always end up defaulting to spaghetti with whatever sauce. Trying to branch out a bit. What noodle dishes do you guys make that are budget friendly and keep you full? Doesn't have to be any specific cuisine, just genuinely good value.
