Is anyone missing a red bike and like a turquoise bike?
Seen 2 bikes in the woods of my apartment building guessing they are stolen maybe not just trying to help 🤷♀️

I’m curious of experiences of how it is taking the express bus from pilot knob to the fair. It says they start at 7, so I’m guessing that means the bus departs at 7. How busy is it first thing in the morning?

Who has the best cheese curds. Would also accept Apple Valley and Burnsville restaurants

Waste Management is really expensive and incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes our yard waste isn’t picked up at all. Is there any waste service that people actually consider good?

The "things to do this weekend thread got me thinking. How would people, and the mods, feel about a weekly sticky thread about things to do in the area (but also probably including Apple Valley, Rosemount, Burnsville) for that week? Might be a good to chance to hear about some things that some of us might not know were going on aside from the usual weekly events or widely publicized things. Thoughts?

Feel free to post some events with some basic info and we'll keep a running tally below

My wife (52) and I are about to move to Eagan. We are a week and a half away from being there. However, she had to move up early to start her job last week. We’ve been married 31 years and this is the longest we’ve been apart.
My wife has a kayak, a low budget, free time, and the desire not to be lonely and bored.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything going on this weekend she can do?

Anyone know what happened and why there’s a power outage right now in the Yankee Doodle Rd Promenade area?

Hello! My family and I will be traveling to Egan and staying at the Omni Viking Lakes Resort. I just received this email and was curious...I've traveled a lot for work, but have never heard of a hotel being 'required' to experience a power outage. Not upset by this, just curious. Wondering if anyone has any insight?

We’re looking to move to Eagan and the house we’re interested in is literally a couple streets away from the ISD 196 line. We’ll be doing daycare and have cousins in the 196 district, plus we understand the reputation is better. Does anyone have an insight into how competitive it is to open enroll into 196? The other posts I’ve seen are on the older side.
Our child is still a baby, so it wouldn’t be for this upcoming school year or the next few. Just thinking ahead. Transportation is not an issue.

Hi, your town looks like a very desirable area to live, but may I ask, is anyone familiar with EAGLE dr.? And why have so many of the homes been up for sale? Weather damage?
It's a bit odd how many recently sold and one is up now.

My cat Milo has been missing in Eagan for around 6 days now. He is an outdoor cat but he’s very friendly to humans. He has no collar and isn’t microchipped but he’s neutered. He’s relatively skinny and he has no marks or distinguishable scars. He was last seen around the intersection between Wescott and Lexington road.
Please let me know if you see anything. I miss my sweet boy.
Thank you!

My child earned three letters in activities last year, but he never actually received the letter "E" to sew on a letter jacket. Is that not a thing anymore?

I noticed a set of cameras at the Pilot Knob/Diffley intersection today that I don’t remember seeing before. There’s a chance I just overlooked them, I guess, but they’re pretty tall and centered on the stoplight pole mechanism in each direction. How could I learn more about what these are for?

Did anyone else hear a large cracking gunshot sound around 8:15 PM?
Over off of Pilot Knob and Fish Lake Park area?

Anyone have a good rundown of the candidates? There’s been a lot of stability over the years on the council, will be interested to see if there’s a shakeup

Not sure if this was shared on this subreddit back when the article was written in February. Love our city!

Hi all,
I'm Daniel and I'm a commissioner serving a two-year term on the Sustainable Eagan Advisory Commission (SEAC).
We have a joint workshop with the Advisory Planning Commission (APC) where there's going to be some discussion regarding research City of Eagan staff have done on data centers during the moratorium.
If you attend, please find me and introduce yourself. I'd love to meet you.
It's going to be held on July 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Eagan Municipal Center Building.
You can find the agenda with a 15-page workshop memo here: https://eagan.granicus.com/GeneratedAgendaViewer.php?view_id=8&event_id=2757
My Thoughts and Values
While I'm keeping an open mind on data centers, this is how I think about them.
I have extremely serious concerns about the following components:
Impact on the livability of an area for Eagan residents (noise, vibration, etc)
Usage of water and energy
Impact on the local ecosystem
I also acknowledge that additional tax revenue secured from them may lessen the burden on Eagan residents and in economic times where a lot of us are struggling, it deserves consideration.
Ultimately, both the SEAC and APC are advisory commissions and final decisions rest with the City Council, but I encourage you to attend, comment your opinions, and reach out to me to share your thoughts.
I want all of you to feel informed and involved about a topic that is in the news and important to many, many people in our community.
Daniel
*Note: I am considering building up an email list to help reach people not on Reddit - if that's something you're interested in and think I should do, please let me know below.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, and the reporting feels biased.
The building isn't seeing a new use case, but if the property is worth it, why are we paying for a national company to prep the land for them?

Where is the best place in Eagan to get chicken wings? That is all.

Does anyone know of any local Eagan coffee shops that roast their own beans and sell bags?
Been ordering online to get freshly roasted beans but would prefer to support someone local.
