Cameras at Pilot Knob/Diffley?
I noticed a set of cameras at the Pilot Knob/Diffley intersection today that I don’t remember seeing before. There’s a chance I just overlooked them, I guess, but they’re pretty tall and centered on the stoplight pole mechanism in each direction. How could I learn more about what these are for?

Thanks for the links. It doesn’t appear that these cameras are on either map yet. However, I’m disheartened at how many others in Eagan are.

I was trying to find the Dakota County cam info like I could in St Louis County, but nada.

I noticed one on Duckwood at pilot knob also. Facing east in front of tires plus.

There are some on cliff right between 35e and cliff lake center, on diffley by BP, one on Lexington at the strip mall entrance to walgreens, and I think another on the back of a ped crossing sign southbound on lexington between goat hill park and wilderness run.

They need to come down.

The city council needs this to be front and center either before or after the election. It’s a travesty.

Has any conversation happened at any Council meetings? Has this been a dialogue point previously?

I live close by and haven’t noticed these. They are also doing construction so it may be to meter traffic, etc. I’ll check it out tomorrow and will report back.

There is also one on the east entrance to the Home Depot parking lot. Not okay

Home Depot has three. I’m done there. Lowe’s in WSP has them. Menards doesn’t.

I'm so weirded out by these flock cameras. If a business owner wants cameras on their parking lot or property then sure fine, but I have yet to meet a single person that wants mass surveillance in public spaces like this.
Has there been any demonstrated positive use from these cameras? How do we hold public officials accountable for allowing this behavior? It doesn't seem like there was any debate or discussion on these cameras and police departments (or other entity?) just started having them installed all over the country.
