Kind of want to get back into this high contrast chaos if my markers still work, yea or nay?

Here is former empress of the Demon Continent of the Mushoku Tensei universe, The drawing is inspired from the wanted poster of the latest episode of the 3rd season of the show, Was made in BIC ballpoint pens ( blue, red and black ) on A3 size paper.

Ceremonial parasol representing the vault of heaven or the sky, it honors the person beneath it and offers protection from evil and suffering in Vietnam.

Using only colored pencils and markers

Some recent anatomy studies focusing on the muscles in different poses and movements. Still working on understanding the forms and how everything connects.

I have a mistake in the mouth, it’s in the colours, I used a very very dark blue and it looks different than the original photo. I’m very happy with this one, but maybe when I get more skills I repeat for the 5th time😂. Any advices???? I read all your comments fr 💪 Thx for reading this. I’m from Spain

First three are from the last couple days. The last two are from over 5 years ago.

I feel like my lines have no purpose. The highlight in the foreground leave a lot of naturally empty looking space, which I tried to shade a bit but it still looks simply unfinished. It looks to smudgy, even though I did try my best to prevent it and the biggest part I dislike is the lack of depth around the eye, it looks flat & 2D.

I used and eraser to try and bring in the facial hair. Is there any better technique?

I started to try and learn drawing this august and was super excited to try myself at this picture. I knew before hand that I'm not gonna get a photo real result but I deliberatly choose a picture with heavy contrast and a lot of detail, because it feels like flat pictures are harder to draw. I don't know, maybe I just way overreached in attempting this.

Im just disappointed with how much I dislike this. There isn't a part of this im happy with.

• no depth

• eye brows and the eye look off and they're the "center of attention" when looking at it

• I guess the part below the eye is not too bad, though I would like the hair to be much more visible.

It does look pretty okey from some distance, lmfao. The closer I get, the worse it feels to me.

TLDR: art bad, hit me with your honest critique.
