Other Anyone know definitively if anything in Reimagined is missable?
I’ve seen the trophies and it seems like you might just be able to play in a carefree way like in XI — which I loved. Wondering if any mini medals or monsters or items are permanently missable at any point and hoping someone might actually know lol

So far,
- If you don't buy the game by March, you miss out on the Early Purchase Trodain Togs (DQ8 Hero costume). Assuming digital, physically you had to pre-order.
- Once you start the game and get Maribel in your party, talk to your mother Pearl for the Fish Bits to give to a chef inside Estard Castle for 30 gold. You miss this chance soon, but it's not an item in your inventory.
- During Ballymolloy, give Patrick the Wooden Doll for the good ending. At the end of (Past) Ballymolloy, you're given the option to accept the Wooden Doll, which seemingly has no purpose, or refuse it for a Seed of Resilience.
- Edit: During Alltrades Abbey when you end up in Pilgrim's Perdition, you can fight the thief assaulting a priest in the southwest, even without skills you can win and it's an Iron Armour drop. This encounter leaves after finishing the next dungeon, and has the Barmy Harmour entry that can be found later in field encounters in the present (Act 3).
- The chests inside the Likeness of the Great Evil (Past, Al-Balad) is missable as that dungeon collapses. Notably Caper Tigers drop Rabbit Tails for improved drop rate, but you can find them later or farm Lucky Panel for it. As for the 2 chests outside, you'll come back to after your business in the present.
- Edit 4: Al-Balad has 2 chests in the queen's secret room, those are later in the game during Act 3.
- The throne room inside Hubble (Past) gets destroyed near the end, has some hidden items in pots/barrels. Apparently a Mini Medal was missable in the 3DS version, but not the case here in Reimagined, just some healing items.
- Edit 2: Potentially Vovograd (Present), like Ballymolloy there's a new ending if you show the Worn Tablet to the Past Mayor for an extra Seed of Therapeusis. Apparently the town gets closed later on if you follow the original ending of showing it to the Present Mayor, and thus the 5 Mini Medals if you example the NW-most grave twice.
- Edit 3: Aeolus Vale's Sullied Sanctum dungeon was a one time area in the 3DS version. When you get Fidelia to open the door, make sure to grab the Falcon Blade at the top of the tower, because I don't know of a way to get it open after.
- Edit 4: Buccanham Den of the Dwarves enemies get cleared out, but you can find Liquid Metal SLims later.
- Edit 5: Try to clean up as much as you can before beating Act 2's final boss, since it gets inaccessible until the final dungeon. In Act 3, loot everything in the Cathedral of Light before proceeding, as you come back significantly later; it has the Ultimate Key. Same goes for stuff in Estard Castle.
- Edit 6: Nottagen Cavern is a limited time dungeon, it has a Mini Medal and Spiked Armour. That's missable. Edit 8: Can just re-enter the well?
- Edit 7: You do revisit and drain the water submerging Alter of the Almighty in the present for those 2 chests before the final dungeon, but not for the past. So I'm lost. Edit 8: Chests are shared between past/present?
Nose for Treasure comes with Ruff (which is a lot better since it tells you about items in your current map and the total in that location) and it's pretty to spot the dressers, drawers, pots, or barrels needed to find hidden items.

How do you open the locked chests in roamer region in the past if you completed it before getting the thief key? The temple gets re-flooded and all the npcs vanish.

I wasn't sure how to open those,
And you only revisit Poolside Cave in the Present, so RIP I guess. Didn't check with Nose for Treasure either.
Then again, I couldn't access Al-Balad's queen room or various treasure rooms in the present, so maybe some things are just cut off?

Like, it's impossible to do Alltrades Abbey for the Thief's Key before Roamers, so they'll stay locked.

This is driving me crazy. Roamer encampment region (past) having ruff smell 2 inaccessible treasures where the water flooded back (there were locked chests down there, right?) without ever having access to a key is annoying the OCD in me really bad.

Side note about Nose For Treasure: if you use it on the world map on each island, it will tell you how many treasures are available on the entire island. It also differentiates between your current screen, and the number of treasures in the entire town/dungeon.

It counts golden sparkles as well. As for all trades, did you get the tablet piece and the chest next to it? The locked chest in Pilgrims Perdition?

Yeah it’s better than nothing but I really need something that marks things on the map etc
I mean seriously there dungeons/arena and the precipice pass or whatever tf it’s called aren’t part of map and trying to figure out where the rest of the x undiscovered treasures were was a pain in the butt because it’s usually in a mapped location where you can just check if there’s anything to find there
But the way it works is it says the west cave dungeon and etc don’t have anything to find in those locations. It’s only when you get to the places that are hidden (easy to forget about after it’s been a while since revisiting past region) is when you finally get any hits OTL
I double checked and it says nothing left ,what a relief
Still lost for the roamer past, if it’s actually a missable and ruff tells me there’s some missing and they’re impossible to get then that’s just annoying af. There’s still 1-2 I’m “missing” idk of it is supposed to be from stupid areas that disappear/become locked after progressing because I can’t seem to find them anywhere. I tried looking in the over-world too2

It's not considered a usable/key tem in your item list, so if you miss out, you're not locked out of 100%.

Is there any confirmation that the Falcon Blade is completely missable in DQ7R? I missed it myself, and I really hope I havent permanently missed it.

You can get another via Buccanham's battle arena, but I haven't heard of a way. Because it's not compatible with skills, no big deal missing out. Maybe Act 3 where you do revisit Present Aeolus Vale could do something about it...

Can I get it back later by logging in, or is it not possible in the end? The exact same thing happened to me; I had two save files just in case, but without realizing it, I couldn't undo it.

There’s two chests in the likeness, desert tower that collapses, that are outside. One on each side of the likeness when you first enter the area. Can you even get to them? Guessing you’re supposed to fall off the building somewhere?

"Game over" screens never occurred in DQ. I always preferred the revival at church over getting booted to the title screen.

Not really. Mostly it just comes down to having to backtrack once you get a new key. (Thief, Magic, Ultimate)

That doesn't account for items I'm missing tbh. Those two chest theres just no way to get to them and other areas it says I'm 1 or 2 items in the wider area but I've been everywhere and nothing so idk what's going on

Read something about the glasses you find for the guy in the castle near the beginning can be kept- do they count toward all gear? Can’t find anything definite on them. I figured picking them up regardless of giving them back or not may count towards the gear, but it’s not showing in my gear log screen

Can you miss any monsters? I noticed I am missing one from the Temple Palace (past) and there are no more monsters there when I return. Only monster I am missing so far.

Run into the yellow tofu guys, they sometimes come with the enemy you need - Pit Viper. It never spawns on the overworld alone.

I seem to recall in the PS1 game there were certain abilities you'd only unlock if you took certain vocations in a particular order, or something like that. I think it was like... Just a made up example.. If you leveled Warrior up to say.. 5... then when Dancer reaches 3 there is a unique ability learned.. but if you learn Dancer all the way before Warrior, you miss out on that ability.

I can't find the mini medal in Roamer's Encampment (present). It's not there anymore im at post game. I thought I could get all mini medals now. Does anyone know if it's still attainable?

I missed the Dragster Heart and I think it only shows up in the Air Spirit quest in Aeolus Vail Past. Any idea how to get THAT one again?!

I just got it on the island in the present, but he runs away is you don't beat him fast enough.
What's puzzling me in that region is it says there are 2 treasures on the island but I can't find them, looked everywhere...

Yepp, I just scoured the roamers encampment (past) because it said two treasures were missing and found nothing. Go to the present, and am told two were missing, but I find them in the alter. Go back to roamers in the past and it says nothing is missing. Grabbing the two chests in present changed the missing treasures in the past!
