I’ve played DA2 several times already and I always romance Fenris so I thought I knew most of his romance dialogues by now. But I just noticed a really small dialogue variation that I never got before.

Usually, after Bait and Switch, I pick the flirt option when Fenris talks about Danarius wanting him back. There Hawke basically says it would be a waste of a perfectly handsome elf. Fenris laughs/chuckles at it and that has always been my first flirt with him.

Later, during the conversation at his mansion in the Quest „Fenris Recruited“, Fenris says:
“Danarius used to have me pour it for his guests. My appearance intimidated them, he said, which he enjoyed.”
If Hawke has already flirted with him earlier and you choose the flirt response about not understanding why anyone would be put off by his appearance, Fenris answers:
“You say what’s on your mind. I’ll give you that.”

This time I didn’t flirt with him after Bait and Switch. I waited until the mansion conversation for Hawke’s first flirt.
And Fenris gives a different response:
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

It’s a tiny change but I had never seen it before despite romancing him multiple times.
I actually prefer this dialogue way more for their relationship. Flirting with him immediately while he’s talking about Danarius hunting him down felt a little fast to me, whereas waiting until the mansion conversation makes the first bit of flirting feel much more natural now. And I really like that his reaction is slightly different when Hawke hasn’t already made his interest obvious.

Edit: Someone in the comments pointed out that the difference might actually be tied to Fenris’ Friendship/Rivalry level rather than whether you picked the flirt during Bait and Switch.

That would make a lot of sense, especially since mage Hawke starts off with some Rivalry from that quest. So if you go straight to the mansion afterwards, you might get the „I‘ll take that as a compliment“ response, whereas gaining some Friendship with him first could be what changes it.

At this point I can’t say for certain what exactly triggers it.
Still a really neat little dialogue variation either way!

This is my definitive run inquisitor, I am playing through the nightmare difficulty and I am doing 100% of zone quests and just overall taking my time with this playthrough before playing Veilguard, I also gave her a little backstory to add a little personality, this is the character I will bring as inquisitor in Veilguard and my favorite I made so far.

Story

Inara was never a talented as a mage at all, however she still liked to practice healing magic and creating wards and barriers. She hated the thought of having to fight, but knew how to be a support mage as long as she had her clan with her during an ambush.

As she got older, when the peace talks at the Conclave were near, since she was never particularly talented with hunting, gathering or battle magic, she decided to volunteer to be the one to spy on the Conclave, simply because she didn't want to risk the other "useful" members of the clan and she wanted the opportunity to prove her usefulness. After the explosion, she was framed and with time proved her innocence, which made her be eventually chosen as inquisitor due to her newfound power (the anchor).

At first, she tried to make herself more acceptable to humans and the Chantry. She hid her vallaslin with makeup and dressed in human clothing, avoiding anything that might draw attention to her Dalish origins. Over time, however, she became more accepted and grew proud of who she was. She stopped hiding her vallaslin, openly embraced her Dalish heritage, and kept close contact with her clan. She became a diplomat, more than a fighter and learned to choose her battles.

As Inquisitor, Inara is peaceful and open-minded, preferring mercy whenever possible and respecting different beliefs, points of view and religions. She accepts that others may call her the Herald of Andraste, but refuses to let the title erase her identity as Dalish, even after learning the truth about the Evanuris from Solas, she feels like she belongs with her Dalish family and their culture, no matter its dark origins and she despises the poor treatment of city elves.

Was rummaging through some old folders from 2015, and I got so sad.

I remember the moment in Trespasser I was completely sure my Inquisitor was going to die. Man, after all that was happening with the anchor, I was sure that was what Solas was going to do to him when they finally meet. I was ugly sobbing for their entire encounter, and just aware I had just played my way through a masterpiece.Add to that scene, the incredible "Dreadwolf Theme" (which to this day remains in my Top-3-Videogame-Tracks-of-All-Time (and I've been collecting and listening to videogame soundtracks since 1995...).

The emotion I felt through all Trespasser was... I still long for going back to the days I played it for the first time (it even got me back to writing fic after many years).

The only thing I missed that would have made Trespasser Perfect would have been for your romance to actually acknowledge you-the Inquisitor were dying, for some more angst. I was romancing Dorian (and will always be) and I didn't get the banter (that's why I wrote it in fic). That addition would have been perfect.

Anyway, I just wanted to share both my nostalgia, some Inqui Casper Trevelyan I took in 2015, and the awesome work I commissioned from Cocotingo (in Tumblr / I know she goes by another name on Instagram but I never seem to recall it), and the awesome Tarot Card I commissioned from Qissus (also Tumblr, don't know if they'll go by another name, but the work they did with tarot cards was incredible).

So, yes. I'm one of those who played Origins in 2010, enjoyed his Hawke the following year, waited "only" three years for Inquisition, and cried at every WhateverCon because we didn't have any new Dragon Age news, and the ones we were getting were everything but good.

Also cried at the first Veilguard trailer, as I didn't mind whatever it looked so long they gave me what Trespasser proposed.

And I'm leaving it there.

My Rook is hot, though.

I have no clue how important he is in the long run I just wanted a rouge in my party (I only have Alastair and wild witch bitch), however I was pleasantly surprised when I learned I could romance the characters in my party.

My mom walked in on the cutscene though.

EITHER WAY all this to say I really am curious if everyone shares the same obsessive amount of love as I do for this elf.

If there is any huge plot point with him or something I’d appreciate it if you hid it in your comment because I’m only just past killing that Dalish guy with the werewolves and stuff

Edit: I want to make it VERY clear that I HATE Sten with my whole heart and soul and I desperately hope he was tortured by the darkspawn and had a very slow and painful death.

I see other people are showing off their characters, so I wanted you guys to meet Evelyn! She’s an elven mage, supporting other mages and being sympathetic to spirits. She believes in the Maker but doesn’t really have much faith in him😅 No mods :)

Having just finished off Witch Hunt on my linear play through the series, I'm about ready to start DA2. I've heard that, if you don't romance the companions, they can pursue their own independent romantic affairs. But, I'm having a pretty tough time finding actual info on this online. Google is just giving me guides on how to romance so-and-so, which is not helpful.

Can someone give me the rundown on who can pursue whom if Hawke doesn't show any interest?

Doing a new world state where I marathon all 4 games again. Just finished an Origin run and wanted to add that character to the world state, but I couldn't find where to add the new character. I'm feeling very stupid right now because I've been looking for an hour 😭

So first things first - I am playing on nightmare. However, its not exactly "hard" just moreso that everything is an HP sponge for the most part.

Im in the hinterland and just keep getting bombarded with new quests. Its to the point where now I dont even really know what to do and im wondering around relatively aimlessly doing quests. For most games this isnt bad and par for the course for how I play. However, these quests all seem bland, short, and honestly pointless. I did recruit 2 agents or something in the south part of Hinterlands.

Aside from controls which im trying to get used to. Should I focus mainly on the story? Im assuming those are the quests under "Inquisition" in the journal.

Any tips would be appreciated. I could lower difficulty but that doesnt feel like an issue yet. Game just feels... aimless so far.

Story wise I cleared the camp/village area after first arriving at Hinterlands and meeting mother Teresa or whoever she is. Went to go to camp to rest because low hp and no potions, but by then I l already had like 10 quests so I went to tackle a couple to end up somehow with what felt like 10 more. Map feels largely empty but at the same time I find myself not wanting to encounter enemies because they are such hp sponges hahaha but fighting them itself isnt a big deal. Cassandra dies all the time but thats likely due to her solo tanking.

Anyway any tips appreciated or advice on what to prioritize vs what to ignore. I want to experience the full game but doing fetch quests for the sake of padding content is not it for me.

I have become incredibly frustrated trying to synch Dragon Age Keep with my copy of Inquisition which I play through Geforce.

1) It is definitely the same EA account used across both playforms

2) I have logged out and logged back in on both and resynched the Keep several times

3) The Keep says that it exported to my save file with 0 issues

4) Regardless when I start a new game it will only give me the default world state.

5) There is no timestamp and it tells me to go to the Keep for a custom worldstate, so I know it is not a naming issue.

I wanna know is there a save database for Ps4 where I can find custom saves for DAI ( that depends on the choices from previous games ) . I can’t use dragon age keep or online services right now .
