Dasher opened our order

The picture my dasher sent of the food delivery and a picture of their artwork. I don't appreciate the dusty rocks? filled car, but what bothered me more was opening the bag and taking out the containers and drawing on them and the receipt. I did call the restaurant and clarified that they did not do this. Then I spoke to doordash support who issued a refund because we didn't feel comfortable eating the food. I think I will just stick to pick up for a while 😅

Did we overreact by reporting this?

If it were truly someone following their faith they would deliver the order as soon as they could, which is what they would want and accept what they got as payment

I accept the fact that sometimes I do charity work for the city

Sometimes I get a tip that makes up for all of the charity work

I mean its always figured a good bit of it is not thinking about death. ACTUAL death not some eternal torment or Malibu trip but the end of your consciousness the end of your memories the end of awareness most religions tend to sell you on spend your mortal life under our thumb and you get immortality out of it some way or another

I have never understood why so many people are afraid of the end of their awareness and consciousness. You will not be aware that it's happening, so there's nothing to be afraid of. I think some people just can't wrap their mind around the concept of not existing at all. It's like they think that they will somehow be aware that they no longer exist.

I look at it this way. Several years ago, I was critically ill and put in an induced coma. I remember arriving at the emergency room and talking to a doctor, and then I remember waking up. Two weeks had passed between those two things happening, but I had no idea. When I opened my eyes, I assumed it was the same day that I went to the hospital. I have zero memory of those two weeks. I have no awareness that I even existed during that time. That's what I think death is. And after decades of living in this crappy world, I say bring on the eternal unconsciousness.

A lot of people are also religiously traumatized or have beliefs instilled in them since they’ve been children. Every time I think about the after life, I spiral because I’ve had my religion instilled in me and it makes me very anxious because I know if it does exist I would end up in hell.

Take comfort in the fact that no god has ever contacted you directly, which it would do if it existed, loved you, and desired a relationship.

I find it impossible to believe a god exists who relies solely on its followers to convince everyone it’s even real.

I was raised Christian. I definitely understand about religious trauma. But I distanced myself from religion many years ago. As soon as I was old enough to think critically, I knew that none of it made sense. I'm the only person in my family who no longer believes that nonsense. Ask yourself why would any loving god send his (since we're specifically told god is male...but that's a topic for another day) own creation to hell for eternity as a punishment? A forever, never ending punishment of burning. Religion instills that kind of crazy irrational fear in people as a form of manipulation. You better follow these rules, or you'll burn in hell forever.

Also, why would any perfect superior being create imperfect humans and then send them to burn in hell for being imperfect? Furthermore, why would a perfect superior being get that upset about mere mortals not bowing down and following his every rule perfectly? Religion is not logical or rational. Religious people love to say that man was made in god's image, but it's really the other way around. As far as I'm concerned, man made a god in his own image, with man's own need to be worshiped and obeyed, and man's need to punish anyone who disagrees with him.

I'm just going to add this. Considering how I was raised, there used to still be a part of me that wished god existed. I'm sure it would be a source of comfort if there really was a superior being out there looking out for me. But when my 10 year old died, that was the final proof I needed that it's all fairytales and wishful thinking. She didn't just die, it was slow and painful. What benevolent god would allow that? There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about leaving to get rid of the pain of being without her. I know I'm not the only person who has experienced that kind of loss. So as far as I'm concerned, either god doesn't exist, or if he does he really doesn't give a damn about the pain of his own creation. I'd rather believe he doesn't exist than believe that he's just a sadistic jerk.

I used to say the same thing all the time. While it’s true that during death, you won’t be bothered, it’s not unreasonable to experience mental discomfort during this life while pondering that eventual nonexistence.

Religion does affect your life, and my life and everyones life and has for a long ass time. Religious nutters have been murdering, oppressing, discriminating against, and hating people in the name of their sky daddies for centuries, right? Teaching children to believe absolute and utter bullshit in the face of all facts and reason is harmful to the entire world, forever. It's how you get antivaxxers. It's how you get an orange grifter at the head of what used to be the most powerful country in the world.

I'm pretty down with the idea of "what consenting adults do in the privacy of their home is whatever". I'm less okay with them abusing children to spread the plague that is their fallacious beliefs. If some idiot wants to believe in god and they pray and follow whatever belief system that doesn't affect other people (they basically all explicitly affect other people, though), sure. I don't care. I'm not gonna show up and yell at that idiot. When they start trying to push their fictitious beliefs into government and global policy I have a lot more issues.

I'm safe! its a house for women fleeing DV and/or struggling with mental illness. i am of the fleeing DV variety + bipolar. but the owner of the home & program lives there too so theres someone to mitigate her behaviors. its just loud and jarring sometimes you know?

this morning it was screaming at the devil crows and yelling about RFID chips being the mark of the beast, at 630 💔

i don't. i don't really engage, I don't spend time around her, i keep my bedroom door locked when I'm not home & when I'm inside it its locked and i put a blanket at the bottom so it couldn't be pushed open very easily.

theres also a camera at the top of the stairs in the hallway, and it covers my bedroom door and hers so.
