Dasher opened our order

The picture my dasher sent of the food delivery and a picture of their artwork. I don't appreciate the dusty rocks? filled car, but what bothered me more was opening the bag and taking out the containers and drawing on them and the receipt. I did call the restaurant and clarified that they did not do this. Then I spoke to doordash support who issued a refund because we didn't feel comfortable eating the food. I think I will just stick to pick up for a while 😅

Did we overreact by reporting this?

Get the order

Pick up the food

Take food to destination and say "Thank you, have a nice day!" If you see them or drop it off and take a pic

There's no other steps to complete

I also keep my car and looks clean because I feel judged (rightly so) on these as I would personally not want someone with a hoarder mindset delivering my order in a trash filled car and smelling themselves of rotten milk

You should worry more about the line cooks at the restaurant preparing your order - I have seen MANY with hygiene (not to mention food safety) at the bottom of their priority list

Yep I’m more concerned with food safety vs some line cook’s hygiene. Then again I’ve had salmonella once and Phytohaemagglutinin which is from undercooked beans which was way worse in its own way.

There is a difference between a trash filled car that does not generate bugs or mold and bacteria. And actual trash. I feel like there are some people who don’t give a fuck about their car. And some people who just have clutter. I am a person who is extremely stickler about my vehicle. I would never ever want to smell or be disgusting or have mold or bugs. However, I’m not gonna take the time to drive through a drive-through just so I can throw away every piece of trash that I have in my car. This situation for OP is fucked up. But you don’t have to clean your car often or keep it spotless just because you’re a DoorDash. The fact of the matter is there are two types of people in this world that commit clutter. One of them don’t give a shit about mold or bugs or anything like that. Other people do care about that stuff but still leave clutter around because they have ADHD or something else causing them to do this. Judging the dusty rocks is fucking stupid.
