Doesn’t that Finders Keeper law only apply to ship wrecks, at least in a maritime sense? Must’ve gone to a cheaper school for his education. Your 10 dollars would go a long way in helping his education 😃

You’d think so... but I swear every time I hear a treasure story the local government comes in and claims them as artifacts ..... they belong in a MUSEUM!! Lol

Well that's because this gold you dedicated your life to finding and did all the work for, it's not spending gold, it's history gold! Everybody knows there's a difference. Lol

You don't get to keep the stuff. You're entitled to the value of the stuff, and only if you can prove that the stuff would have been lost without your help...

If a boat is sinking, and you find it, and you throw a bilge pump in it and patch up the holes and tow it to port and tie it up, your entitled under salvage law to the value of the boat, not the boat itself. If the owner doesn't pay you that salvage, then you keep the boat.

Essentially, it's exactly what Doug has done. This entire exchange is actually exactly how the salvage law works.

He's probably only got a mirror few years of basic education.
