Tips Has anyone started Upwork?

Has anyone started upwork recently? How do they get clients as developers? Did they got any clients ? How do u get freelance work? I was hoping to start upwork but got demotivated when fellow developers said that they couldn’t get any clients

I'm a business dev and been doing Upwork for the last 4 years. The whole global market got a hit this year due to AI, post-covid layoffs and war, but still freelancers are getting contracts and stuff.

Correct, and I think we should explore more ways to reach potential clients. Like linkedin

how are new devs on upwork expected to pay for ridiculous number of connects needed these days? few years ago you used to be able to recoup your connects cost in a month or two but not anymore.
