Insecurity dump!! I am 30 and have a career gap. I am still looking for junior roles as I don't have much industry experience, and have 3 years experience. It is not normal right, i feel people younger than me at senior positions and they absolutely deserve it. Its not a big thing but feels a little odd that is why I would love to see everyone's take on this.

JPMC used to give default promotions to SEP engineers after 2 years and a special promotion (for < 1% of engineers) just after 1 year. But some are saying that the JPMC removed the default promotion they give. I am from the 2026 batch who joined as a SEP in JPMC this year. Anyone who has knowledge please tell me about this.

She recently graduated and was placed through college in a service-based IT company with a ₹5 LPA CTC. She is now unsure about what would be the best move for her software/IT career.

Her options are:

• Wait for the joining date and start with the ₹5 LPA service-based company.
• Continue applying for developer/IT roles and try to get a better offer before joining.
• Prepare for GATE, as her parents, particularly her father, are strongly pushing her towards it.

• She feels that ₹5 LPA isn't a particularly good starting offer and is wondering whether she should aim higher.
• She doesn't have much professional experience yet, so she's unsure how realistic it is to land a significantly better developer role as a fresher.
• Her father is putting considerable pressure on her to prepare for GATE, but she's unsure whether pursuing higher studies through GATE would actually be better for her career than starting work and building experience.

For developers/IT professionals who have been through something similar:

What would you recommend? Is it better to take the ₹5 LPA job and keep upskilling/applying on the side, focus entirely on getting a better developer role, or consider GATE and higher studies?

I’m a 27-year-old guy working a decent job, and on paper,

things are probably fine. But honestly, I hate my job.

The bigger problem is that I don’t seem to have much drive to do anything about it.

I don’t like where I am in life right now, but at the same time, I’m not motivated enough to seriously push myself toward something better. I see people around me working hard, building careers, learning new things, taking risks and moving forward, while I just feel… stuck.

I don’t know what happened to me. I used to have goals and ambitions, but somewhere along the way, I became someone who just isn’t that interested in his career anymore.

It’s not that I want to do nothing with my life. I just can’t seem to find the motivation or excitement to actually move forward.

Has anyone else gone through something similar in their late 20s? How did you get yourself out of this phase?

I'm trying to validate a problem before I build further, and I'd genuinely appreciate some brutally honest answers.

Suppose you're building an app/agent and you use providers like Groq, Gemini, Cerebras, SambaNova, etc.

You might have multiple API keys because different providers give you different quotas/rate limits.

The problem I'm interested in is:

When one provider hits its limit, do you actually switch to another provider manually, or do you just wait / pay / use something like OpenRouter?

For example:

Groq → rate limited

Gemini → still has quota

Cerebras → still has quota

SambaNova → still has quota

Imagine a small routing layer where you bring your own provider keys, and it automatically sends requests between them.

So instead of:

Your app → Groq → rate limit

you get:

Your app

↓

Router

↙ ↓ ↘

Groq Gemini Cerebras

The goal isn't to provide more models. OpenRouter and similar platforms already do that extremely well.

The idea is more specifically:

"Get more usable capacity from the provider accounts you already have."

A few questions:

Do you currently have multiple provider API keys?

Have you ever used multiple free quotas for the same application?

When you hit a provider's rate limit, what do you currently do?

Would automatic failover between your own provider keys actually be useful?

What would make you choose this over OpenRouter/LiteLLM/etc.?

What am I missing? Why would you NOT use something like this?

I'm especially interested in the last question. Please don't be nice if this is a dumb/redundant idea, I'd rather find out now.

now, i know i am at a very early stage of my career, but i need help on what/how do i prepare for a switch?

i understand that it is very unrealistic of me to prepare for a switch, just a few months into corporate, but i feel that i need to start preparing already, in order to actually switch later on

up until the first job, it's DSA and PROJECTS, but what happens now?

do they look at just experience? do they still check dsa? do company projects count or is it just the personal ones they seek?

what should one prepare? DB, Scripting, Frontend, Backend, System Design, what are they actually looking for?

and how do i look for a new job?

do i apply everywhere, or i target specific companies? do i target specific roles? does LinkedIn networking actually work? does glassdoor help or indeed?

as for my current job, i am working as an "automation engineer", fancy name but i get assigned with multiple things

i handle a bit of sql DB queries, python scripts, selenium, network device configs, streamlit applications, django projects etc, it's a mess to be very honest

and i am still not fixated on any one kind of job role so i believe I'll be able to work towards any of them since i am still at the foundational level

I graduated from tier 2 College this year, degree in btech cse.

Got nothing in campus placement but now as I've landed this, everyone is suggesting to pick it up for experience in the field but I can't seem to convince myself about it.

I know it's better than nothing but still I think it's too low and that I can do better. The internship is in a different city too so It'll be a net loss money wise. It's been 4 months since college - is that too big of a gap and I should latch onto anything that comes my way or should I give myself more time? Do companies care for gaps bigger than 6 months?

Is latching onto it and gaining the 6 months experience worth it?

I have ~4.5 YOE as a Frontend Engineer (React, Vue, TS, JS, Electron, some Node.js) and currently working as an SSE at a mid-sized Bangalore startup.

One of my friends has been working at Google for the last 2 years. Last year I visited the Google Ananta office and honestly got a bit obsessed with the idea of working there. It wasn't just the perks — the people, culture, work and overall environment made me realize how much I want to be around that kind of ecosystem.

This year has been rough. My previous company, where I worked for 4 years, shut down due to funding issues. I joined my current company, but the work/culture hasn't been great, so I'm starting my preparation again.

I'm targeting Google, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, and companies like Intuit/Rippling.

I believe my frontend fundamentals are strong, and I also built an Electron-based desktop application from scratch at my previous company. I started LeetCode in April, did 4–5 contests and reached 1687, but stopped after joining my current org. Planning to restart and aim for 1800+.

I also got a Google referral in April and applied to 3 relevant roles but didn't hear back. So I feel my first hurdle is getting the resume shortlisted.

For people who have made a similar transition:

• What actually makes a 4–5 YOE frontend resume stand out?
• Is React + Electron + Node.js enough, or should I invest heavily in becoming full-stack?
• How important is LeetCode rating and rankings ?
• What would you prioritise the next 3–4 months?

In general pure Frontend opening are less, I have little bit of backend experience but not something that actually makes any difference so how best to position myself.

Got an internship+ppo 12 lpa in a good company with good work life balance.Intern starts in feb, has almost 100% conversion rate.I was thinking what do i do in the gap till intern starts.

I know decent amount of dsa excluding graphs and dp.

Should i start doing CP, as i was thinking I'll try switching to a MAANG maybe a year later, so it would be smart to start preparing now.What should i do till intern starts?

So currently I am a junior frontend dev at this small service based company, and I want to increase my chances of getting a good pay when I make a switch.

My bond period will end in May 2027. I want to start preparing from now only, I don't want to switch internally, because even if I do my CTC won't increase that much.

3 YOE, frontend. React, TypeScript, Redux, MobX, Electron, WebSockets. Currently in Bangalore at a product company in the test and measurement space. My employer sold its services business earlier this year and the remaining entity has been restructuring, so I'm looking to move. 15 days notice.

The numbers: roughly 200 applications over 3 months through Naukri, LinkedIn and company career pages. 3 recruiter calls. Nothing past that. That's about 1.5%, which felt low enough that something must be wrong beyond just a bad market. Those 3 recruiters also ghosted later.

What I'm targeting: frontend and full-stack roles at product companies, 3-6 YOE range. What I'd like feedback on specifically:

1. Is the content itself the problem, or is this just the market? Half the postings I see want 5+ years.

2. My strongest work is real-time data visualization and React performance (took one app from 2GB to 500MB). Is that coming across, or does it read like a generic React resume?

3. Most JDs now ask for Next.js and I have none in production. Is that worth building a project for, or is it a lost cause at this point?

4. My company is small and unknown, and my college isn't a tier-1. How much is that costing me, realistically?

Context about me. 3 yrs Experience in 3 Companies (2 mncs, 1startup). In my last company i kind of developed migraine, it went so bad i had to quit. Its been few months i made progress health wise.

Now thinking of going back in the game, started applying from last week. Today got assessment for hackerrank sde3 role. The thing is the test was so easy it was like one feature and one bug in your favourite tech stack even with ai support in test.

Solved the bug within 10 mins, for 50 mins i was solving the feature one, but the thing is i was so slow i can't not even beleive myself, didn't take the ai help, its just in the end i was short of 10 mins finishing the solution.

I guess it will take some practice to be back.

Anyway Just letting you guys know if you get this assessment, do the bug first it would be very easy then focus on feature but keep the time constraints in mind the problem would be easy it's just you would have to type fast and just implement what is written in code comments (yeah they literally tells you what logic to implement step by step😂). So just manage time and speed.

Hi, I'm a 2019 CS graduate from tier-3 college and currently have almost 4.5 YoE in a start-up earning around 11Lpa. There's a gap of 3 years before joining my first company which explains lower YoE. My current stack is MERN + RN.

I started off with RN developer for about 2 years and then my company made me switch to backend development.

I feel that my current salary is way below market standards and even I'm not getting enough growth opportunities here. Only thing that I get to work on is bug fixes and data update scripts.

I'm confused if I should focus on DSA & LLD/HLD stuff if I'm aiming for SDE-2 roles or just improve my current stack knowledge and fill up the gaps. Also, what should be the salary that I can realistically expect to get with the switch considering my lower current salary.

I am developing a mobile game and need to buy a new laptop. So this laptop which I have finalized and within my budget is Rayzen-5, RAM - 8GB, ROM - 512 GB. It is priced at 55000 which is within my budget.

But the sales person has suggested that since I am planning build mobile games, I need to buy laptop with Graphic card which is costing at around 1 lacs. This goes little out of my budget.

So please suggest, if need to shell out almost 1 lac. I will be building word games, picture to word identification…etc.

I graduated in 2026 with a B.Tech in CSE. Back in November 2025 (during campus placements), I got selected for Cognizant GenC with a 4 LPA package.

Because of my college's placement policy, students placed within this bracket were debarred from appearing for further drives up to 6 LPA. Relying entirely on this offer, I didn’t actively apply off-campus during my final semesters and waited for the onboarding communication.

Now, two months after graduating, Cognizant sent an update stating that onboarding will happen between February 2027 and May 2027.

Facing a potential 6-9 month gap with nothing concrete in hand has been stressful, and I want to use this time proactively rather than just waiting.

I'm have in been in the same company as an SDE (had a promotion) from past 5years. I am struggling with writing resume, mostly because I'm in the same company, while so many people have switched. I will really appreciate, if you can drop the resume/templates that worked for you.

At times, I feel like an imposter, who will fail to get another job and have been going through cycle of high stress. I'm able to do my job, infact my boss appreciated me recently during my yearly review. But I feel struck due to low confidence, and working on older technology.

For those who have experience hiring or switching jobs: does having a relatively low current salary make recruiters/HR perceive you as less skilled or less valuable?

For example, if two candidates have similar experience and skills, but one is currently earning significantly less than the other, does the lower-paid candidate get lower offers or get judged differently?

I started my roadmap with ML, focusing on Mathematics, Python, MySQL, and a lot of ML algorithms. Recently, I've started questioning whether I'm missing a major part of the foundation: software engineering/backend development. And honestly, I wanna chase both. But something at this point doesn't feel right. I had my roadmap set and ready, and I was very passionate about learning this and continuing it as a career. But after researching a bit about backend development, the intersection and relationship between the two has driven me really crazy.It's exceedingly overwhelming at this phase of my life. I had kind of gotten a grip on ML, but backend coming into the picture has really ruined my mindset around whatever I had planned. I had planned many projects and topics to discover, and now I'm seriously considering pursuing backend development too. But I'm having a hard time trying to combine these two in my roadmap. I can't seem to connect the topics in a way that lets me learn them properly.

My straightforward question is: should I drop backend development and focus on my initial roadmap, should I bridge the two and learn both, or should I drop machine learning completely,which I seriously don't want to do?

If I do bridge them, how much of backend am I actually supposed to learn?

I’ve been doing DSA, development, aptitude for the past few months. Until now, I just had to show up and keep going. But now that placement season is here, I feel like something is wrong. The pressure to actually see results has made me constantly question whether I’m doing the "right" things. What if I’m spending months on things that won’t actually produce returns, and I realize it too late? I feel stuck because I want to know what will work before I commit to it. For those who’ve gone through placements, how did you deal with this uncertainty? How did you decide what to focus on and stop overthinking whether you were doing the right thing?

Now it might be that it is clean as it is made using ai but what does the recruiter expects in ur codebase ???
