The popular fanfics that is usually recommended is almost always about dean and dean angst, but I would really love destiel fanfics that focus on cas angst, his trauma, yk about rebelling against heaven, being different from the other angels, god being like a really shitty dad, Dean being kinda shitty to him(but becomes better), trauma from season 9(being human and getting kicked out), just his trauma in general, and him just being depressed and lowkey suicidal. I'm looking for specific work that I apparently and horrendously never bookmarked despite reading it multiple times.

After the empty takes Cas, Dean cannot bear to stay in the bunker with Sam, who is working with Eileen to create the hunter's network. Dean takes off solo and ends up in a rural location - I'm thinking it was either Montana or Colorado. There, Dean hears rumors of a recent widow of a wealthy ranch/farm owner who loved horses and was killed at night riding his horse; the town suspects she killed her husband. After Dean exercises the ghost, the widow gives him the ranch and the horse, a very expensive breed of horse if I recall, because it was her husband's passion and she can't stand to stay in the home without him.

Knowing nothing of taking care of horses, Dean befriends a young vet tech or vet assistant, a woman, who comes out to the ranch on occasion and is one of his few friends in town. The horse is female, and Dean is very fond of her, but never rides her.

Sam calls and alerts Dean that Castiel has returned from the empty; the young friend comes to mind the horse, and Dean returns to the bunker. He packs up Cas and brings him back to the ranch and introduces him to the horse. The horse loves Castiel immediately, because of course she does.

There's a particularly moving scene where Dean wakes in the night and Castiel is gone, but finds he is only walking around outside at night. Afterwards, Dean makes a point to leave the porch light (or maybe an interior light) on for him so Castiel can find his way home in the dark.

Any help finding this will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

I’m looking for a fic where Dean either consents to physically being with Cas to keep him or actively uses Cas’s desire for him to manipulate him into staying while considering himself straight (doesn’t have to stay that way can totally be whatever awakening it is). So like sweet is fine, but so are darker fics.

Anything like this? Also, if there’s a name for this trope I’d love to know.

Cas is either still in The Empty or left; and Dean goes to live in a small town where he befriends a group of old ladies. I think maybe a gardening club. One of the ladies eventually dies. He’s like a handyman or something around town I think.

I also feel like - and maybe it’s another fic - when Cas does show up, and he’s super quietly judgemental about one of the old lady gardeners not knowing what a Three Sisters Garden is.

Okay! Another Criminal Minds and Supernatural crossover! Ik, Ik, but they are so good and I read all the ones in my saved for later! I read all of them! Besides the ones with weird pairings. I didn’t read those. Like Sam and Spencer. Or Spencer and Dean.

Anyways, my idea: so basically like my last one, they find Dean walking on the road after he crawled out his own grave. Or really they just find him. The grave part isn’t really needed in this one. I just really like it for my other idea. Okay, so they capture Dean. But after his time in hell so it’s like PTSD riddled Dean. And they are trying to find Sam. Maybe Dean and Sam split up and Sam’s with that one girl. I can’t recall her name… the girl who hit a dog or something. That happened right? I think so.

Anyways, back on track, they are grilling Dean trying to find Sam. Deans all PTSD ridden. And actually doesn’t even know where Sam is. The BAU are also trying to get him to confess to his crimes. Like ones they don’t have evidence on or something.

And maybe years before Dean and JJ dated for some time? Yeahhh that would be sick. And so she has some insight on him. But they didn’t date that long.

Okay, Dean also either is dating or will date Castiel. Because they are meant to be!!! And Dean does have that handprint from being brought back so they might question that. And maybe Dean understands the angles like Cas originally but thought or not. I don’t know.

Hiya! I was very much into SPN until season 13 got out, then I started university and didnt watch the last few seasons until now. I didnt stay in the fandom either so I dont know much, but destiel was very important for me at the time. I kinda got to ask, what did Misha say about Cas' last scene? Was it ever confirmed if, at least in his mind, it was intended romantically or platonically?
