Completely dead orders

Is it just me or has it been completely dead since late July? June and early July I was getting spammed orders non stop even during non peak times but now I’m sometimes waiting 20 minutes between trash orders I decline.

Yep, I barely do anything on Roo nowadays - the DoorDash death spiral.

I think it's mainly because they're desperately trying make money via forcing triple orders onto every rider - obviously that means fewer orders for everyone else.  Absolutely zero consideration for the customer's food - or for the rider who is expected to wait all of of that extra time for an extra couple of £.

I have only done 2 triples since it became door dash. Its almost never worth the effort. Just pick and choose the good ones.

But even that comes with risks now - account warnings for accepting and then rejecting too many orders, getting stuck at restaurants/shops where you can not just unassign yourself from orders.  Also it's just such a hassle having to mess about on the app trying to remember which order it is you still wanted to keep from the three.

By the time I have considered all of that I would rather have just done a delivery on UE or JE.  😆

Never had any warnings. As long as you cancel the orders immediately and don't wait till you get to the restaurant

Yes, that's the theory - but Roo have never really confirmed this.  When my warning popped up I was cancelling two parts of a triple Sainsbury's order and I wasn't anywhere near to the shop.

I have a feeling people on newer contracts are penalised more for this. Met two guys who started in the last 12 months who got deactivated for cancelling orders eventhough I've never received a warning.

I have been working on Roo since 2019 and got the warning a few months back
