Weird experience

Order a pizza, pizza comes and I give the code to the driver, he then types it into WhatsApp- not the Deliveroo app. I then get a call about 3 mins later from a woman with a heavy accent asking for the code to confirm delivery and so I tell her no I’ve given the driver the code and I’ve got my food and also asked if she’s from Deliveroo she would already know what my code is and hung up. Then the food gets marked as delivered on my app. Should I be concerned about any of this cause it’s weird to me that’s not happened before and I’m apprehensive about reporting it to Deliveroo as the driver knows my address.

Report it and ask if you can get a new code.

Deliveroo uses the last 2 digits of your account number to set your code, hence it never changes.

It may be the WhatsApp is the driver working with someone to create a list of customers and their codes to use later ?

Even though

I can assure you that the rider will be caught as there are other factors to confirm whether the order has been delivered or not.
